I love when people are like "Linux is to complicated" but this is the crap you have to do to make windows not awful. As always, thanks Chris and all the github contributors.

Ignoring the fact that most people who say "Linux is too complicated" aren't going to bother with this script either.

On Windows You make the system from worst to bearable. On Linux You make it from good best suited.

I had an epiphany this week about the ethos of each major OS. I think this sums up how people get locked into each one:
Windows (ideally) = broad, top-down power user control, messy if consistent enough for users at most experience levels to get around
Windows (in practice) = sloppy, dictative control as predicted by Microsoft, shoehorning together the experiences of basic and power users... we all know how that's worked out
Mac OS = stripped-down, tucked-away control, intended to reduce drudgery/busywork of computing to automated processes or muscle memory gestures (e.g. drag+drop, swiping, etc.)
Linux = DIY, built-up control, depending on the distro could be extremely intensive to straightforward (I'm a dirty Mint casual myself)

Hey man. I'm the systems administrator at a small government facility (less than 100 endpoints) and have been using your utility for over a year now. We can't really justify the cost of some of the bigger management tools so I end up doing a lot of stuff manually when deploying new machines. Your utility has been a life saver and I've used it on probably 60 deployments in the past year. I REALLY appreciate your work and I'm a big fan of your channel.

MicroWin performance is extremely good I can safely install a debloated os instead of someone else's questionable custom os and it is extremely good that with Winutil I can customize the computer the way I want and all this is all free and open source.

Yeah, I used this and a custom set up Unattend.xml and I was able to fresh install W11 without any unwanted bloat and it was super fast too.
It was also great to be able to easily install Steam, Firefox and other apps as well without having to go download them myself.

I'm pleased with the chocolatey option available for installations. I don't know why, but I often encounter various errors during fresh installs, which sometimes leads to frequent reinstalls of winget, resulting in functions like "upgrade all" not working well, or even not working at all in some cases. I have recommended this tool to friends, family, and other admins at my job, many of whom end up put off because of this. So, it's great to have an alternative.

I truly appreciate the effort you've put into enhancing its functionality. If possible, I’d love to see malware removal tools integrated into the utility in the future. This addition would be incredibly beneficial and could enhance overall system security for users.

Hey, Chris!! I loved your Utility update videos!!
Funny you mentioned how custom autounattend.xml files aren't good. Well, I have experienced with one such file and while it works for clean installs, it WILL mess you up if you use it in an in-place upgrade. Clean installs are always ideadl, I totally get and respect that.
However... today, I did an in-place upgrade from reagular Windows to Microwin just for fun. It worked well, BUT... to anyone trying this, please note that this will remove all apps pinned to your taskbar with no backup possible; so keep that in mind if trying this like me. Backup your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar folder!!

Absolutely amazing, using winutil since it was in CLI only, Microwin is also a very powerful tool but sadly I never got it to work. the thing is I always wanted to remove Defender form iso, because many times I am installing windows on a systems that are already in a well protected network & environment and other times the machines are not Technically eligible to run win 11 nd defender eats up almost half of the resources the system might have😢

Looks petty good to me! I was thinking it would be nice as a repair tech to have a way to run this on machines that are not connected , or not able to be connected to the internet. Pretty sure the home noncopilot+ version of 24H2 is going to add some new ads and crap that your going to have the ability to disable to the tool. Will be looking forward to that version. Have a look at Wintoys app cause i am sure you will find stuff in it that needs to be added to the tool which would be great because then that'd be one less app to have to run in the background. I appreciate your tool mr Titus and I apreciate your thoughtfulness as well!

I have a suggestion like this. You can create a profile that debloats Windows to the bare minimum just for gaming (like a certain video you did about 2 years ago). It certainly shouldn't be the default, but there are some people who only need Windows for gaming, and Windows only needs that bare minimum for gaming.
