- NERF MEGA XL Needed some scientific testing... so we pulled out the lab coats and got to work testing a variety of simple ways of launching big blue darts without the massive blasters. From vintage blasters to SCAR barrels, there is a lot of easy options!

Just the puff of smoke coming from the barrel and the laugh tells you "yeah..this is gonna be fun". With this new knowledge it's gonna be fun to see the builds that come outta this.
I like how lots of blasters can fire these darts. So much potential!
A video dedicated to pointing out easy ways to make Mega XL viable in nerf wars outside of the intended purpose as determined by the Hasbro engineers.

maybe you should build a Lahti L 39 inspired sniper.
the Lahti L-39 is a 20 mm anti tank rifle.
that would also justify the barrel caliber.

If someone made a replica Lahti, we would have the perfect base. Change the firing pin to a spin system, and we have mag fed mega xl. Oh ya.
I love how you can see that slight bit of vapour "smoke" after firing it. Oddly satisfying
The fact that this thing fires in the same system as old blaster arrows/rockets makes me hope to see a future of modding vintage blasters to fire MEGA XL at redonkulous distances.
Stupidly large plunger tube, k14, 6 dart box magazine, pump action. i can see it now. people are going to get absolutely wild with mega XL.
We honestly need an actual blaster that can shoot mega XL darts with an actual mag and maybe it could be the new sniper class of the game
Have a freaking elephant gun for a primary.
Mega XL combined with a slightly more beastly Caliburn variant comes to mind for sure.
I suspect the darts may be too squishy longitudinally to work in a box magazine.
The darts look stiffer than Elites or Megas, so a double stack mag might work.

Very cool. This gives me some major hope for the future of MegaXL. Now, if Hasbro will just keep it around for a few years.
I'm having a lot of fun with Mega-XL. Much happier with those blasters than anything in the Ultra or Hyper line. They're just big, goofy fun.

@@phoenix0166 That would be the one to get. I find the Double Crusher the most fun to fire (it's got a buttery smooth prime) but you can't go wrong with a ridiculously huge revolver like the Boomdozer.
Oh dude now I wanna make an anti tank rifle that fires mega XL. Breach loading,tank in the back,lights and sounds in the barrel to make it sound and look like a rail gun or a gaus rifle,yeah I could do that. Thx so much for the inspiration.

The Ultra Pharaoh barrel fits perfectly around the MegaXL darts btw.
I have all the arrow shooting blasters, I might have to dig out my big bad bow and blaze bows and such because you having the idea to shoot those XL darts has me in a playful mood 😂

@@alpharex4078 I have most of the older and vintage blasters, spent 6 years ordering online and thrifting stores to find them😂 I have 3 big bad bows and a few blaze bows. I’m lucky because that leaves me some room to mod and paint some, and leave others stock for collective purposes.

I didn't even get halfway through the video before I had to pause it and get out a couple blasters to try this out. It's wonderfully firing off the Zero Scar on my Game Face Prime. Then it got real. I busted out my 235 fps Longshot. The barrel shroud I made for it is a perfect mate for a Mega XL dart and OH Snap, it slaps! What a fun video showing the future for XL and how incredibly fun this is going to be!

30 mm is to tight. And yes the Massiveburn is getting downsized to Mega XL.
The fact that the Crossbow can fire Mega XL makes me very happy. When I buy a Mega XL blaster, I'll be able to use my Crossbow properly too!
This is fantastic, I was wondering how a titan tank would affect XL and I was not disappointed. Just curious but what pump was hooked up to the titan?
Hi, i made the blaster in the thumbnail. Topeak bike pump from REI. Really nice pump. Spendy, but worth it, imo.

My favorite thing I found out to fire Mega XL is an XBZ with a cut piece of Xploderz barrel slid over the XBZ barrel.

bigbadbow is good, titan with the plastic cut off the end of the tube works amazing lol, i just cut the inside of the plastic grille and it works perfect, ez pz no other mods required lol, dont need to change the barrel. just leave the the tiny lip that goes around the diameter at the end and remove the grilles
I have an OG 3B here in pretty much perfect condition and I was looking for more ammo fot it since I only have 2 arrows and they are in rough shape so it looks like MEGA XL will be my goto for it fro now on
Honestly as an adult I haven't looked at nerf/competition at all since I was about 10yrs old and always figured they were for children..having watched a number of these videos I've realized this could be fun. If I had friends who would be into this also is probably hit up my local Walmart and get one.

This was perfect, absolutely perfect. But try it with HPA, it should add a lot of power.
Walcom, you are so awesome for making and posting this video! You can also use the OOD little rocket attachment for the Nexus with the “ultra” barrel to fire these very hard! I sanded the ultra barrel on the outside with 250 and 600 grit to reduce friction and higher grit would be even better. I managed to get my XL over 100 feet and I’m still fairly novice at modding. And my nexus barely cracks 220 with short darts. Once I add the barrel you showed, the sky is the limit! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I am eagerly waiting for the day someone makes a massive plunger tube springer sniper built around mega xl darts, so we can *truly* have a sniper style nerf blaster. Massive rounds, massive blaster because it has to be to allow for a massive plunger thing, and long for a humanly drawable bolt action. Some super high velocity half dart blasters I'm sure can work as snipers already, but those are only for high fps games... This blaster looks already somewhat sniper worthy, and I highly doubt it's actually close to breaking any fps limits anywhere. I've been wishing for a sniper I could use at my local HvZ for a bit now, so the potential of a 120fps true sniper blaster that not only looks and works like a sniper, but is like a sniper through necessity rather than just for aesthetics sounds absolutely glorious.

Does this mean putting it in the front of a nexus pro mean a nexus could fire mega xl like how stuffing a marshmallow blaster tube in the front will get it to fire ultra

To fire my Mega XL darts, I discovered there's a cheap $5 solar powered path light they sell at Ace Hardware with a plastic stem that's the right diameter as my Nexus Pros muzzle and Mega XL darts.
Just use Teflon tape to seal it and its a pretty decent hitter.
It fires pretty decent out of a nexus etc too 🙌

Awesome video! I am so glad to see a Havok Fire being used for anything, it’s an aesthetically awesome blaster that needs to be used more. Also Mega XL is cool.
My first discovery with it was the Worker barrels and how I could lob them off Nexus, Aeon, Conquest, etc. They also fit in the mouth of a Powerade bottle or, of all things, a standard sized pill bottle, makes a perfect "shell". Well, almost perfect as it is slightly tight. So if people are considering anything rapid fire or shell ejecting or w/e, yeah, I can see that or the Centurion (I wasn't aware of that one nor do I own one) being the base for the design. Oh, I just thought of something. There's a reloader for the Nerf Trilogy shotgun blaster. What if, it was designed with a short barrel like the Centurion cut down into shells... that would be pretty interesting.

Oddly enough just before this video came out, I got a pack of Mega XL darts figuring they'd work just fine in my T3, and they do! Though I think yours slaps just a little bit harder than mine

The mega XL dart works with the big bad bow, in case of arrows are very difficult to buy, but it can also works with the fortnite grenade launcher if you wanna go lighter.

The crossbow shoots just about as good as any modern NERF blaster.
I loved when I bought the last worker scar from amazon as it was sold out everywhere too....it vanished in the mail...amazon couldnt send a new one due to it being out of stock through every provider so they refunded...then it arrived in the mailbox a day later after waiting a week to report it missing after delivery date lmao because usps can be really late .....that was fun....now its safe in my utility pouch on my rig for things like the max stryker lol that thing was an interesting adventure to find a source of one and now its just a trophy of events to me and never will be gotten rid of lmao.....its got some more importance because I ordered it to try on my first full depth mod build which was the stryker

Thanks! Its pretty simple, just cut away the shell to fit the tank in front, link the triggers up, and that's about it. It took some time with a dremel to get it nice and clean. If you can make your own brass breech, you could make something like that.

I have a vintage Nerf Arrowstorm, and it fires the XLs. It doesn't do it well, but it works.
I've found the arrowstorm works really well for mega xl

Weird. I live in New Zealand so I am normally a day in front of most other countries so Halloween has been and gone and I still get Halloween stuff a day later lol. April fools is the worst. My family and friends prank me on April fools and I go to sleep thinking it’s over then I wake up to find a plethora of April fools jokes and it gets me every time because I think it’s over

there a few video game guns that seem to work well for this. one is practically borderlands. if you can load in a swing gate load in two then launch it then it should be good. only issues its keeping the size down and launching it accurately. if on the darts had a way to twist themselves in id flight or down the barrel..

I am getting mega XL soon. Will definitely be experimenting with firing it off everything.
Like how faux barrel is stupid perfect for everything. It fits over a berserker post. It fits inside just about any regular mega barrel. It fits down the front of an aeon or nexus.
And inside that faux barrel? Stick an inline clip or something in that sucker. Going to love tinkering with these.

Ever since I learned the difference between the two, seeing incorrect usage has started to hurt my brain.
