The best thing about this blaster is the breech load, it looks fun, if only they put it on a smaller 15-20$ blaster, i would probably buy it and have fun with it, solely because of the cool breech mechanism.

TBH I liked how it looked before the barrel was attached. Replace the spring and extend the stock it would be more fun imo,
It totally loses it with the barrel, but without the barrel it looks like a China Lake launcher cut in half or maybe an M79....

I'm disappointed that Hasbro actually went as far as far as molding two shells for this thing. It would have been so funny if the orange version also featured the battery tray, speaker grill and LED button, all empty of course.

The part that bothers me the most about this blaster is the complete lack of any sort of grip and barely any stock. I know the original gun doesn't have that pronounced of a grip, and Nerf always sells it short on the stocks, but this blaster is almost unholdable, and it looks nothing like the original prop.
I wouldn't even excuse them on the stock since their halo blaster is damn near a 1:1 replica except the pain scheme

Yeah, the og isn't exactly great ergonomically, but they basically removed half the stock. I'd need to see how everything is arranged internally, but I'd bet there's a way to extend the stock and sculpt it to look right.
MFW the cheaper variant is far sturdier than the limited edition variant. let's just hope that the Aliens blaster isn't like this
I have high hopes for the Needler and the Destiny blaster.
Its worth more and safer then the limited edition you dont want to use the melee rigth ?
The start at where you disengaged the locking system just gave me a modding idea....
possibly integration with a barrel brake to make something like the force of nature....

Yeah this is something I would like to pick up...On sale, I do would like to see it with a replaced stock so it can actually be to scale of what the original thing it's trying to be, maybe even mod it if possible although I doubt that with it's mechanism..Good cover of the blaster as always Walcom!
Replacing the stock wouldn't be that hard, cosmetically. I'd need to see what it looks like inside, but u could probably do it.

At that point you can just integrate another blaster in or even recreate the mechanism if you like it.
I wish Hasbro would use the breech loading mechanism to make a double barrel shotgun.

Here’s a thought, if Nerf Limited never existed, this version was probably intended to have sounds and LEDs because most of the other Star Wars blasters have sounds and lights.
Your facial expression says it all. My purchase of the collector's edition was thankfully refunded 14 weeks passed the original delivery date after a few delays/apologies. When you did your reveal, I realized how fortunate I was.

Unironically, I love the $50 one much more because it fits the NERF aesthetic so much more.
I’d pay £30 maximum for this. Not a penny more. £20 would be more reasonable of a price. A shame though, with some modification, could look nice as a sort of sci fi rifle.
It says a lot about a company when their premium product lights and sounds is exactly the same as their other normal tie ins. I bought the Han Solo blaster and Qi'ra pistol on sale and they light up and sound better than this...
I could actually see someone buying this version of the blaster to play with. The only way the limited edition is worth the money is if your box wasn't destroyed in shipping AND you never plan on taking it out of the box AND you plan on reselling it in a few years for a premium NIB collector price. I hate that you have to devote time and energy filming and editing for products that aren't good, but I appreciate that you don't just show us the good stuff. You aren't afraid to show us the bad, warts and all.

What do you think the odds are that in the next two years, Hasbro rolls out an Elite 2.0 or other conventional line blaster with the exact same loading mechanism and sells it for like $20?

Not defending hasbro or this blaster, i purchased the "mango mando" blaster because i wanted a "mandalorian" shaped blaster kinda like the one from the show. I knew full well the lack of performance and other issues. Thank you for your channel you da man Walcom you da man.

The blaster disassembled looks cool in my opinion. I would shove a panther tank in it and make it usable
I did a little bit of looking into the white one and what I found is kinda cool. There is a article that says that a working managing the production of the blaster. One day they got mad and decided to right the silver part of the gun with sharpy 30 made it past and was sold
Thank you for buying it anyway so we can see how it works. I think if you actually want to cosplay, you can just buy a dedicated prop that doesn't have to sacrifice accuracy for functionality (firing darts) and changing colors so they don't get sued (orange barrels and whatnot). If you're a nerfer that wants a big star wars blaster that resembles a weapon from the show and you don't care about performance, this is a perfect blaster. But that's a niche I don't think anyone is in.

That's actually exactly why I just ordered one. I'm a big fan of the show and just want a fun blaster to play with that's aesthetically similar to the show.
The extra 70 was just to pay hasbro workers to sit all day and draw the dry brushing with the sharpie
The problem with the barrel is just how long it is, as dart starts to lose velocity in the barrel due to distance from the breech.

Outside of being woefully inaccurate, I never really understand Nerf's egonomics and proportions. Their blasters are simultaneously to big and cumbersome for a child to carry around, but have grips and triggers that are uncomfortable for teens and adults.

This is good for one thing. Using the stock to make an MG42 replica for Nerf if you're crazy enough.

The main problems with is is the stock not being more like the Winchester 1870 shotgun style stock (if you catch my drift), and the fact that the scope don't work. The stock thing customizers will fix I bet.

yeah, cosplay is the main reason I would get this. and it is a shame it won't fire without the barrel cause it actually looks kinda cool sans barrel, almost like a sawed-off shotgun. basically I'm trying to find a cool looking larger blaster for my mandalorian cosplay.

I'd probably just pick this up to have a mandalorian weapon because thats my favourite aspect of star wars and this would look nice next to the dark saber when painted

I am glad I forgone the limited version to see how this one is.
Maybe in a nerf battle its ment to be used as sniper but it doesn't have enough power behind it to hit far targets. But it makes for a good spear for close fighting.

I got one and while it is no performance blaster it is basically a musket which makes it perfectly useless for nerf battles
The colour scheme even looks better.
It's pretty cool that Mandalorian fans can buy this Nerf blaster without spending ridicilous amount of money.
If it was not for Christmas, and I’m well aware that saying the blaster isn’t good is a compliment, I would have waited for the 50$ version of the mandalorian rifle. But it was for a Christmas present I bought for my brother and it was slightly on sale at the time so I didn’t end up spending 120$. But I don’t know how to make something like this myself nor have the connections to get one made probably for cheaper or at least at that price significantly better quality. I sure hope he enjoys it.
You could buy a whole bunch of those $50 ones, paint em, resell em pretending they're the LMTD one, and I don't think anyone would notice.
Nerf kinda fixed this with the Ace of Spades recently, but man Hasbro really needs to understand that if you are gonna sell a $150 Cosplay Blaster, it needs to be Cosplay Grade, and that Cosplayers are hobbyists. Doesn't need to be powerful but it does need detail and quality.

i think the orange one is for actually playing with, because you know LIMITED EDITION means it’s not supposed to be played with, just display in the box. Yeah it has its pros and cons. But you literally listed almost EVERY con on that blaster. The show is FICTIONAL is it really supposed to look like a fire arm? no, even in the show it’s looks nothing like a real fire arm. But in your case, it has to look SPECIFICALLY like it. The stock with no grip is something i can agree on. But still, the all orange is not a better “combination of colors” honestly, the orange one is meant to be played with. Since it has rubber at the end where you can atleast melee someone. But the thing is, the other one came in it’s own fancy box where you can display it. it’s meant to be displayed, not played.

I bought the limited edition, gave it a repaint then reboxed it back up in the original package and it was a nice birthday present for my son.

The loading process looks smooth. If I had to get the gun it will be that part only and modify it.
I went back and looked at the comments on the last video to see if anyone mentioned this yet, and I didn't see anything up at the top so I guess I'll point it out to any viewers who havnt seen the show or anything
Now this doesn't negate the other many many faults of either of the blasters but alot of people are picking on the blaster for being a single shot breach loader, and I'm assuming that Hasbro made it that way because in the show it's a single shot breach loader
In the like, 1 scene he uses it, the Mandolorian has to put single shot cartridges in it, very similar to the blaster we got.
I think from a roleplay aspect, having the blaster do that is worth it, but from a play aspect, it's stupid. I'd much rather have it hold way more while maybe having the breach option available, but for anyone who would wonder why Hasbro would make a 50 (or 120) dollar single shot, it's because the source material shows it being a single shot blaster
Even if the breech loading is cool, not worth 50$.

I love that this means there is going to be a 50$-Version of the Alien Pulse Rifle and I actually got Lucky not being able to preorder the deluxe version.
Luckily I waited this whole thing out and got the limited edition version on sale at Best Buy a few weeks ago for $55 after taxes. The collectors box for it is really cool too. I think the sale price was a great deal.
The molding itself look better on the Orange one... I didn't dare risk myself after the LMTD one.
Idea: cut the plastic key off the barrel of the blaster and click it to unlock it and use the blaster as an old grenade launcher

This could've been somehow redeemable if the muzzle velocity was higher and the stock was longer. AND IF IT WAS PROPER DRY BRUSHING!!!!!!

What’s ironic is that for the more expensive one you are basically just paying for the extra paint, and get the less expensive one looks better and looks like what a nerf x mando blaster would look like, it’s also safer to put in a kids hands. I don't know if the argument that it doesn't look like the show is justified because any officially produced replica of it isn't going to be gunmetal and brass colored because that would cause legal issues for moderate relation to real guns, and saying it looks bad is fair but its mold is pretty solid for the real one's shape, not to mention the loading mechanism being accurate as well
HPA mod might be amusing. I'm not gonna try it, but would be cool to see.

The funny thing is though- you literally can't make anything just as good by using *only* $120 at the hardware store. I made [working] replica of Boba Fett's blaster that fires standard nerf darts ..... must've cost me about $180 - $200 USD to get everything just right. We're talking: plastic materials (tubes), glue, bolts, drill parts, paint, multiple springs, metal for the trigger and other inserts and much more!!!
So $120 really isn't that bad!
