My dude... I've been playing sf since 2 released... I have never been good... never cared about learning cancels... just played for fun and liked the cool looking characters... then I came about you playing Balrog... learned from you and now I am underatanding the combos, cancels... antis. Just wanted to say thanks for making this game worth playing again, at least to me..
Smug's a big part of why I keep coming back to this game, too. He puts a lot of diligence into how he plays, but he's also chill enough to have fun whether he wins or loses. I think all us players would be a lot better if we didn't let ourselves get salty so easily.

Wat is shotos?
Short of Shotokan. The style of Karate that based the fighting style of Ryu, Ken, Gouki (Akuma), Gouken and Sakura. So people just call it users (or variants) of that style Shotos.

This just goes to show just how important FUNDAMENTALS are. As long as you have championship level fundamentals, and a decent working knowledge of your character, you can play competitively. By that I don't necessarily mean in tournament play, but you can play against virtually anyone.

Fundamentals are important for every player. It's easier for pros like Smug to master the basics for other characters he hasn't used before. In short, never expect an easy win just because that high rank pro in a lobby match decides to use a character he or she isn't familiar with or doesn't use often.

Ryu v Akuma is lame. Ryu can do nothing and still win. His Tatsu almost did as much as Akumas XP DP.
