    Seriously you're my mighty knee guru forever and the miracle I was looking for.
    I have done everything to work with this arthritis pain. The list is very long... Acupuncture, Qigong, physical therapy. The fact that you are so specific with your physical therapy and so thoughtful is amazing. I am so incredibly grateful to have found you on TH-cam. I like others and considering purchasing the knee arthritis recovery program in the near future. I just found you yesterday and already I could go to the gym and to some of the range of motion exercises you recommend and I'm using my glutes when I walk so I can walk. That's one day I'm really looking forward to what happens after a month or 3 months or a year of following your program. May your life, your family and everyone that surrounds you be blessed!!!

    I recently had knee pain and I was told I have arthritis . Can’t believe it😢. I’ve always been active, strengthening my leg, esp my quads . Watching your video I will definitely focus on my glutes more. Right now I’m on stage 2 . Starting the same exercise you showed . Thank you again..

      That’s very young to have knee replacement surgery, nothing to lose by trying to strengthen your knees. My sister had a Cartledge removed over thirty years, and ended up with bone on bone arthritis. She decided to take control, she lost a little weight, eats a healthy diet, now exercise since finding David and she’s avoided knee surgery.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @Tours-DIY-Reviews-HowToDo, so glad the glute exercises are making you feel better! In most cases you will not get rid of arthritis completely. However, the purpose of what we are doing in these videos is to get rid of muscle imbalances that are causing the knee pain. Once we get rid of these imbalances the joint will be in a good position to allow healing to occur. It is not likely to completely get rid of the arthritis, but it will allow for noticeable improvements. If you are interested in learning more about knee arthritis, we have a great playlist that may help. Here is the link:

    A couple of weeks ago, I overdid it with pickleball and leg machines at the gym. I was afraid I re tore my meniscus! I have been babying my knee with ice, NSAIDs ever since and doing tailgates, so maybe another week or two of glute work before playing pickle ball again? Would swimming be okay now and stationary bike?

    Swimming can be a good choice of exercise if you have arthritis because it: stimulates blood circulation and can reduce muscle stiffness

      Not always...swimming can irritate your pain afterwards since you have to move your feet and knee and humidity it's not good too. Always depends on the stage of the knee pain!

    I was born was a several palsy my left leg and my left arm wish it throws my balance completely off I cannot use my left hand at all but my right side is completely normal I fell because my balance was off and so I would not fall on my left side I turned when I was falling and landed on my right knee cap I have been to physical therapy for six weeks but they really didn't do nothing just give me warm Menthol rubs and warm hot packs and put electrical things on my leg to make the muscles bounce that's about it it's always has been hard for me to do regular squats before I injured my right knee so I purchased myself a total gym to help me squat when I wake up in the morning I have to rub my leg with gel that my doctor gave me so I could walk on my leg the pain goes and comes but they won't give me any arthritis painkillers only gel and patches they told me that I have arthritis

    Hi I might have missed it but how many 10 second times should I do it, thanks

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @lorralorra9133 that depends on what you can tolerate without making anything hurt AND still using the glutes WITHOUT using the quads. Some people can do 10 second holds just about 20-30 times per day and others need to be doing 50-100 reps per day. The more you can tolerate the quicker you can gain strength. Just don’t use your quads too much or you’ll make your knee pain worse.

    i never feel anything in the glutes with the clamshell. like zero. like maybe i dont have glutes.

  • @Hephzibah16

    When I try the clamshells, even though I can feel my glutes working, I feel pain in my knee. It's like there's a tendon, or something, that's wrapped around the inside of my knee that's being pulled. And that hurts.

    I am a fitness instructor who specializes in PIlates. I think you need to be careful with the advice you are giving. It is important to move everyday. We need to maintain heart health as well. Yes, activating the glutes is very important, but no muscle should be stressed more than other muscles. One should also have strong quads and hamstrings. Surprised you do not mention core. Abs take pressure off the whole body, when properly engaged, Too many doctors advocate for elimination of movement when they should focus on modifying the exercises people enjoy doing.
