    This young genius of an artist is respecting all of his influences and masterfully designing his own voice. It's an amazing joy to witness. Jeff Beck is smiling and nodding in major approval of Matteo.

      Yes camera position and lighting - camera person tried (th-cam.com/video/Mzu3SXTblU0/w-d-xo.html) but unfortunately, not good enough to use, better to stay on Matteo since only one camera, sadly for us and the great bass player. You'll notice audio only from the camera, not stage mixer feed, c'est la vie at least we all have this recording to enjoy :)

      I said the same thing! Major error from this lame cameraman. The bassist only appears briefly at 2:40 mark. His solo reminds me of Tal Wilkenfeld's solo during Beck's performance at Ronnie Scott's back in 2007...

    Understand that when someone of real talent and skill plays a tune, a standard. Theyre never trying to fill boots, they're never trying to copy, and they're never trying to prove anything. Theyre just playing the music they like to play and that inspired him. He played the solo the way matteo would play it because he is... matteo. Simple as that. Sounded freaking awesome.

    Matteo is a fantastic player -- to state the obvious.
    What makes Beck's recording special, IMO, is the way it slowly builds up to an intense crescendo and then gently backs off, gracefully returning to the opening bends. The overall piece had a distinctive shape, or narrative. Even in the best covers, like this one, the transition from slow to fast and back isn't quite as smooth and controlled. Still very impressive though.

  • @HittingImage
    @HittingImage 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Really people? Somebody make an effort to record and upload this, and all you can comment on is that he did not film the bassist? Although it is clear that an attempt was made, but the bassist was not visible from the camera position.
    Maybe time to be grateful for what we get than whining like spoiled brats for it not being a perfect recording.

    This is one of the most powerful and emotional songs Jeff Beck ever recorded. An instrumental piece that makes you wanna burst into tears and Matteo’s approach just doesn’t.
    Unfortunately Jeff’s touch cannot be matched nor replicated. Makes you realise why he was the guitarist’s guitarist, the one every other player looked up to for decades. Anyone can play the notes, nobody can do it the way he did.
    Don’t get me wrong, I like Matteo a lot and class him as a top player and a generational talent. I just think he tried to fill really big boots here and unfortunately he is going to be compared.

    This is the late Jeffs signature track. This isn’t better than his legenday play. I’d prefer nrw original stuff from this band - and better drums. Sorry, I do not like it

      This is a Jeff tribute, played obviously with Matteo Mancuso style. No one said Matteo plays like Jeff. Jeff is UNIQUE. But MM's tribute is very very good.

      @@apebitmusic83 I’m a real admirer of Matteo’s amazing talent, but they made a mess of a beautiful piece of music. The worst bass playing I’ve heard in literally years and just a butchery of a great composition for a chance to show off. That stuff makes me ill. A million notes? ✅ Great music? 👎🏽

      Are you jocking? MM is actually one of the most interesting guitarists in the world. This is a Jeff tribute, played obviously with Matteo Mancuso style. No one said Matteo plays like Jeff. Jeff is UNIQUE. But MM's tribute is very very good. Please look at his videos, he plays Coltrane and Charlie Parker, Eric Johnson and allan Holdsworth, country and rock. He plays ANYTHING.
