      What about clamping metal heat sinks to the surface of the battery - near the solder points ? Would that absorb enough heat and prevent exploding the battery ?

    • @unclefester9113
      @unclefester9113 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On another video - the technician used copper conductive tape ? But that assumes that the adhesive material wouldn't interfere with conductivity ?

    • @UltimateDIY
      @UltimateDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The adhesive needs to be conductive for sure.
      Another idea, put the battery on a wet cloth while soldering. The heat should transfer into the cloth.

    I loved to watch your video. The technique is very helpful to me. You showed everything very clearly and reused as much as possible. I will go and watch all other videos of yours. Thanks for your time in creating such a wonderful and useful video and sharing it.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite P55W-B5224 laptop. I did not use it for several years. Everything was working fine, but the touch screen and LCD screen malfunctioned and could not see the screen well where it was asking to enter the date after I had unplugged the main battery from the motherboard. Perhaps that corrupted the BIOS information and not the fan runs when turned on for a minute or two, nothing shows on screen then laptop turns off even when the charger and battery are plugged in. I opened the back cover and could not find the location of the CMOS battery either to clear it or to replace it. By the way you replied to almost every viewer's comments. I highly value your time and helping nature. Keep up the good work, Sir.

      No space for it. Even my mini-ITX (desktop) motherboard has a similar wired battery and located in such a tight spot that I have to remove the motherboard from the case to replace it. On a sub 15 liter volume mini ITX case that is like half a day (or more) lost. It is very annoying just to replace a stupid battery.

    That was easy. To open my Lenovo,you need like 7-8 screws unscrewed from the back,than remove the keyboard,unscrew 3 more screws under it,to remove the back. And i hate removing the keyboard cause it so sensitive. You dont have to brake it nececerily, but can easily be scratched or a bit damaged on the edges. Not prety.

    Thank you for the video! Why did you choose to reuse the plastic ring - was there a safety reason? I'm having to try using electrical tape since I don't have heat shrink, but I don't want to create a safety or interference problem (battery & wires near the WLAN antennae). Thanks

    • @UltimateDIY
