i didn't feel any pain for about an hour after i tore my ACL. My knee was extremely lose, and i walked off the the football field. The next day, was pretty painful. Extremely swollen and inflamed to hell.

For me the pain wasn't as bad as dislocating my knee, I walked home I tore my ACL, an hour after resting the pain really set in.

I tore mine unloading a generator and felt it immediately and heard a pop and then tried to walk and it gave out as soon as I put any weight on it and I had to hop to the vehicle and I'm still waiting for surgery.

I just tore mine last Friday at a rivalry game playing for my football team. It tore during the first quarter and I finished the game. In Saturday I swelled up really bad and Sunday it swelled up even worse so I went to see the physical trainer on Monday and he and my coaches looked at me like I was crazy because I didn't complain at all. Went to cambells clinic today and confirmed it so now I'm waiting on the swelling to go down so I can have surgery. Really nervous about the surgery though

Tore mine skateboarding, completely torn as well as both left and right meniscus pads. It felt pretty awful, was laying on the ground for like 5 minutes. All I could do however was brace it. I had to work on it, in a factory environment I might add, for a month before they could get me in for surgery. Definitely couldn't climb any ladders during that time, felt very unsafe.

i had complete tears on my acl, pcl, lcl, and a partial tear on mcl and lost a chunk of my meniscus. i actually saw my lower leg twisted 100+ degree when i landed from a jump. it snapped back in shape just as fast. the pain was intense. and yes, i didn't want to get up either. so i sat out the pain for about 30 minutes before walking back to the car and drove to the hospital. of all my adventurous lifestyle . . . who would ever thought i'd be crippled by jumping off a cute inflatable castle at some fair . . . such is life. :'-)

I tore my acl suplexing my friend that weighs about 400+ lbs my knee popped and I knew something was wrong, it didn't really hurt I was just shocked. Tried getting up about 5 minutes after and once I put my weight on to my right leg (which is the one that tore) it completely gave out and fell back again, the next morning I was in crucial amount of pain so I went to the doctors. Got X-rays and nothing was wrong so I took MRI's only to find out I completely tore my acl and my meniscus on my right knee, and partially my meniscus on the left, I went a good 3-4 days without walking and another week using just a brace, 3 months later I'm walking normal but my knee does give out every once in awhile. I'm also not getting my surgery till mid January

The worst thing about tearing your ACL is that even after surgery it will never be the same again.
You will never be at the level of performance you were before the tear.
I had ACL 3 years ago and it still isn't the same, and still dislocates occasionally.

+Andrew Sheller depends on how bad you tear it, I couldn't walk for 3 months because of serious cartilage damage.

You prob didnt tear it fully because if your acl is completely torn, you're not walking
