    These are very helpful videos. I would also love to see a comparison of the dwarf varieties if you have also been testing those. Thanks!

    2 of mine, including Pugster, and Miss Molly never came back from the roots this Spring. I am in 5 b. Others are not so wonderful. Years ago my old fashioned Types came back faithfully and bloomed until October. I find that many of the perennials that have been “ IMPROVED” are great when first purchased, but never come back, such as the Cheyenne Spirit Echinaceas and many others. Too bad.

      I too experienced Miss Molly and Pugster Amethyst did not survive my zone 6 , equivalent to USDA 5. I’m giving it one more try with Pugster White and Miss Violet Butterfly bush, trying one near the same location ( as The light and soil conditions meet the requirements] and one in another location. 🇨🇦

      Many of these PW plants are not Proven hardy or Winners in my opinion. I am in Zone 5B and I lose too many PW shrubs and perennials in recent years. I have better success with First Edition brand of Bailey Nurseries. Readily available at most garden centers and Lowe's. PW has only Proven to be a big disappointing Gimmick. Good luck.

      That’s why I prefer to just have old fashion plants. I also had these hybrids and didn’t survive the winter. I grew plants mostly for pollinators and birds so planting native old fashion ones are just reliable. But I have hybrid annual for impact.

      @@Braedensground I recently discovered First Edition brands, and purchased one of their hydrangeas. Fingers crossed!

    This may well have changed my opion of buddleia's, they grow really well(too well) where I live so I have thought of them as pests but they cope so well with the hot dry summers and cold winters(very little if any snow). I love your manner of growing them, nice thick rounded shrubs, beautiful, and a very good and helpful video. Sorry I am not close enough to shop there - SW France- thank you and all the best.

    Why can’t we find these in Kansas City? Very interested in early blooming varieties.

      It might help if you mentioned what Zone you're in.

      I follow the pruning instructions (simple) in The Ultimate Butterfly Bush Care Guide on the PW website. I prune in Spring as I’m in 8b and my Miss Violet doesn’t die back to the ground.

    I tried to go to your website and got a warning about it being unsafe. Danger of viruses and people stealing my card numbers. Thought you'd like to know.

    Why are buddelia considered invasive?

    • @lm8006
      @lm8006 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Non-sterile varieties can seed really profusely & freely. Check for sterile varieties if buddlelia is considered invasive in your zone.
