Thats how people get killed by doing things like that. People if your car is drivable. Get your vehicles outta the road before you get yourselves hurt severely or possibly even killed. No car is worth all of that folks.take some pictures with your phone and get your cars or trucks outta the roadway. No car is worth your lives.

Not only did they stop in the middle of the road but then they get outside of their cars.Many have lost their lives doing this.

Every state has laws that state if you’re in a minor vehicle accident pull to the right side do not block lanes.
Dan,kudos for strapping that load properly!Its amazing how people when in a minor fender bender don’t realize the danger they put them selves in and others by stopping on a main highway. I hate that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when anticipating someone running under the ICC bumper when you are in a situation like that. 37 years and I still get it every now and than. I gotta retire lol

I had a collision with another person last week and no injuries but seat belt bruise have a safe holiday
Nice reaction to the accident, Dan; from my "seat" it looked as if things were going to go bad.
I had a similar occurrence some years ago when a moment of inattention nearly put me in a jackpot. Luckily, the ABS system saved my butt.

I remember all those truck stops you are talking about. Especially the TA in Terell Tx. That was my main truck stop to rest when I was driving. Aw man, that's crazy what people do! You saved that one!
One of my incidents driving in the 90s, pitch black no flashers on, a guy changing his cargo trailer tire on shoulder line, having dual axles he could have moved to the exit right ahead. People just don't think of a what if scenario putting themselves in harms way. Even in my 4wheeler, if I have a flat I'm driving on it until the next exit even if ruining the rim. Seen too much stuff on the road

I was in cheyenne Wyoming drove through 60 plus miles per hour wind and now in Sacramento. Tomorrow unload in Tracy California and then head empty to El Paso Texas. I will pass Arizona and may see super trucker Dan if he's heading home ofcourse.

I feel for the Fedex Drivers...on the Pressure to get to the distribution center with the overnight shipping, next day shipping etc. Most the time you see them in a wreck on bad roads in the center medium or off the shoulder slope...on the pressure.

Watched another TH-cam trucker (JustTruckin) and he was talking 'bout saving with the (RXO) fuel card , thought maybe it might interest you. He also mentioned Mudflap, TruckSmarter fuel cards. l know your company gives you fuel savings also.

What a day Dan . I had a few of those in my trucking days no fun !!
rain was never my problem unless it was coming down hard. mine was driving in snow, especially in Calif. they made you chain up if a car slipped on a 1/4 inch of snow. one time i was climbing the west side of Donner's pass, prior to the snow line and had to chain up. all it did was shine the chains, but once i got to the top, i said "the hell with this" and removed the chains.

ABS is a life saver sometimes, it did saw a truck driver yesterday who went left and had too break for a guy blowing through red, he stopped on time, but sadly he forgot too secure his load, that ended up against his cabin.........and he was in dyer need of a forklift wow

Plus ABS gives you some steering ability and control. In Minnesota, it's always going off with the snow and ice on the road.
I feel your pain Dan, my route goes from north Alabama to just south of Louisville KY. every day so that means Nashville twice a day They don't call it crashville for nothing. Merry Christmas hope you have a good one.
We were just notified in Pa our gas tax goes up 3 cents a gallon starting in 2023. Happy New Year. Will be 61 cents a gallon now. Goes towards our roads and bridges. Yeah right. Supposedly the powers to be found a loophole in the 2013 state law. They call it a trigger. Diesel goes goes up 4 cents a gallon to 78 cents a gallon for the tax.

If you're looking for loads out of the Dallas area another TH-camr named Ratman Roden owns a large company called Teco Metal Products. Seems to do a lot of air conditioning parts. Just for the fun of it he used to hotshot some of his own loads. Recently upgraded to a Peterbilt. Might be worth looking into. Very down to earth guy with, I think, a great sense of humour. Believe he has mentioned your name once or twice on his previous channel.
Safe travel out there. What a mess of a trip. I'll be going back to OTR here at the beginning of the year with a new company out of AZ.
