I don't blame you, I'm hearing good things, unsurprising as its from the same studio that made Divinity Original Sin. I'm probably going to pick up Baldur's Gate 3 in a couple of weeks myself!
one thing I've realized is you go for the most absurd angles that you wouldn't expect, quite often get people looking at the moon instead of your position you're that hard to find, the prediction of where the enemy will be is insane. definitely better than mines haha
I’ve figured out some places that people rarely check, but mostly it’s just about finding any angle. I usually stumble on the absurd ones by mistake, but I’m so familiar with all of the maps that I know what can be seen from where. I also tend to keep my distance because most players have focus mode and AP ammo. It’s more about not being seen than anything else as that’s how most players get caught out. Keeping your distance and taking the long way around are the best ways to do that!
The German sniper only has 2 lines but the subtitles mean otherwise. First he has the line “Muss mich konzentrieren” which means “ I must concentrate” but the subtitles says “ I need you to stay focused” with 2 “s” 😂 and he says “ Konzentration” which means “”concentrate” but the subtitles says “ stay focused” with an additional “s”
I love your vids, man. I dont know how I stumbled upon your channel, but I've gone back and watched all of the Axis Invasion videos! Always a joy to watch!
A few tips I would add to this: 1. You're much more visible when you're moving. Tucking up next to a hedge or a bush, especially in the latter two invasion skins, can be enough to avoid detection whilst you look around an area. This can be really helpful if you want to move through an area that has little cover. 2. Learn the routes people normally take through a level. This is part of map knowledge, and is less helpful the further the round has gone, but if you have an idea of the most common routes players take it can help you predict where they are going to go. 3. Some maps have spots from which you can gain a lot of information. For example in occupied Residence you can very quickly spot troops at the two bridges to confirm if any are dead, and this helps you work out where the player might be going. 4. If you press Escape and select the player/s name it tells you their campaign rank. This tells you how new or experienced they are and helps predict what they might do. Low level players are likely on their first run through and will spawn at the default location, a high level player on an early/mid campaign map is likely redoing and might have chosen an alternate spawn. 5. Likewise if you press escape you can see the players highest difficulty completion on that map. If they've done it on medium and are now on easy they probably hunting for collectibles, and if they're now doing it on hard or authentic then they likely know the map well and are redoing it for the challenge.
After watching a bunch of your vids on axis invasion and getting the game during the steam sale recently I finally got a chance to try axis invasion as a sniper jeager, and I got 3 kills lol, i wish more games had a feature like this, I've only played the game for about 9 hours in the past couple of weeks since I got it, but there is nothing like playing through the campaign and having another player hunt you, and I found it's even more fun being the hunter...I learned a lot from watching your vids and what to do as the axis sniper, also I would have never thought to tag all the German soldiers I come across if not for watching these vids... Keep up the good work, and also I hope to one day for l find you are the one hunting me, it would be awesome to see myself show up in one of your vids, even if you do wreck me in it
Hey duckwit, i dont know if you know, but you can press your scrollwheel to switch your camera to the left and right. Really useful when peeking around corners.
Have you done or thought about doing invasions with subscribers or Twitch followers? With the invite system I can see this being a ton of fun to watch and to play with your community! I have just started watching your Axis Invasion videos and because of them I've got the game really just to invade!
TLDR; there’s too much risk for abuse and harassment so I will never do it, explained in more detail below 👇 I’ve done it off-stream, and it takes quite a long time to do. Usually several rematches per player, so you end up with a specialised video that has less variety. It can be fun to do, but not as fun to watch. The Axis Invasion videos are fun because they are heavily edited to remove irrelevant bits and keep the pace going. It also means I can remove the many matches where no outcome is achieved. Also the risk of stream sniping is high, although everyone seems to be behaving themselves on streams so far (although those streams are the lowest of stakes, so it doesn’t matter). I’ve also had really bad experiences with people being harassed over their choice of tactics in the past so I have to usually redact the names of players who use these tactics and in some cases remove them from the videos altogether. Before I did that, the comments section was getting unpleasant and mean. It’s bad enough that I get occasional harassment myself from elitist fools who abuse me for using actual game mechanics they have decided are unfair for some reason, even when those same mechanics can be used against me alongside a raft of extra ones because Karl has extra abilities. I have no intention of exposing others to that, as it can be upsetting if you aren’t used to it, nor can I stop people from using tactics that will get that stuff thrown at them. For example, if one of my viewers decided to clear then rig a map or spawn snipe me, it wouldn’t go down well at all. I can’t control that kind of thing on stream, so I will never do it. Having people invade me on stream, however, is fine because I have control of the tactics so I know it’s not going to cause issues, apart from my forgetfulness. 🤣
A tip for you is to try and avoid placing the binoculars onto the target player because it can inform them you can see them which narrows down the direction. If you use the periphery to spot you decrease the chances of your opponent from avoiding.
Maybe, although I do find myself dying (slightly) more these days. I’m also worried about messing with the formula. The general consensus from the viewer comments seems to be that people just want more of the same, but newer. I’ve already changed up the weapons, I should probably also run around dressed as the sailor to make it a bit harder! Edit for clarity: I changed the weapons AFTER this session was recorded.
Try to dress as the sailor. It's a bit harder because it doesn't blend in with the AI and environment. It's fun dressing as the 'clown' hunting down an elite sniper though 😂 A lot of players wouldn't see you if you maintain stealth. You are a good player, Duck!
Very few seem to ATM. There are a lot of new players who haven’t yet figured out that “You have been tagged!” actually means “Someone is watching you and you are about to die!”.
I have been playing this game for a while and I have many tips for invader. 1) spawns:after playing the game for a while you will start to know the spawns(the game spawns you near a player). For example on the first mission if you spawn behind the rader they are often near the aa gun. 2)traps: traps will often be on body’s in doorways or tight spaces so make sure to check the bodys. 3): tagging. A common mistake is going around tagging everybody you see, however this is often a waste of time instead take a few Key people ( people that will be alerted easily or people marking paths again mission one the guy down the stairs to the aa gun at rader comes to mind) 4) some overall sniping tips, make sure scope is not zoomed in all the way use binoculars not sniper for looking around and my fav tip is quick sniping. 5)quick sniping: if the enemy is near you like around 5 to 10 meters away go behind cover and put cross hair on enemy you can do this will behind cover. Then quickly hold scope in button the shoot immediately. This prevents and reaction time.(the make clear you should not be zoomed in with your scope while doing this Hope last part made sense 😂

Would you, or maybe you already have but I didn't see it, ever consider doing a video of like the top 10 tips/tricks to improve as an invader? I love the mode (because of your videos) but am not finding much success. So curious what I can improve on. Appreciate your work sir.

‘Yep, there we go. Bad luck mate! Well played, well played’ 😅 Love this game mode, but feels like not enough people are playing? I seem to wait a long time to find a match, I feel. Many times I match the same people over and over.
that clip at 9 seconds....easiest shot of his life, with the trench gun...and he missed. as someone who invades and relies on the trench gun, that crushed my soul he missed point blank against someone climbing a ladder.
I've played this a lot on PS4. Might get back into it now that I've bought a PS5. Which brings me to a question, on Playstation I basically had to use crossplay to find any matches, in any multiplayer mode, but I don't remeber off the top of my head having seen you go up against a Playstation player - the icon next to the player name should give that away. Are there no PS players anymore or have you purposefully disabled crossplay, or never bothered to enable it perhaps? I also switched regions regularly, depending on the time of day that I played, just to find more matches.
On PC I think all consoles and those using Gamepass on PC all appear as the generic cross play wireframe globe icon. I’ve definitely played PlayStation players before but the icon isn’t there. I got the impression you could only see it if you were on PlayStation yourself.
I freaked out a bit when I first got invaded. I hid in a bush for 2 minutes too scared to move, then ran straight into the invader who was quicker to the draw... it was surprisingly good fun, though!
Yeah, I used to do it in the very early days, when the invader had 3 of everything, and special ammo, like Karl does, with the hopes of catching them out from beyond the grave, but found they despawned. Invaded a guy a Liberation, left some mines, got killed, rematched instantly and the mines I’d left had gone!
I’m struggling quite a bit with invasion. I normally invade my mates in co-op but if I try to get them from any range, they instantly see my glint but if I get within smg range, they see me with focus . Also they keep getting me through walls with AP rounds. The game seems very much in their favor 😭
The Invader used to have everything Karl had when the game released, mines, grenades, special ammo, all of it. It was nerfed fairly quickly because invaders were winning too often. The invader should at least have AP ammo, IMO, and it's my biggest complaint about the invader loadout. There are actually places on some maps where players can stand and they can't be hit with regular ammo, but they can shoot AP through, which is really unbalanced. I'd also prefer it if focus mode only worked on invaders on the easiest difficulties, but thats not as big a deal to me.
@@duckwit85 I heard it was very unfair for Karl when the game released. I suppose it’s better it being more in his favour than the invader so they have a chance to play the mission. Like you said in one of your other videos, it’s just about playing it enough to the point where you can just use your head to get a sense of what to do and where to be
I had the same question when I first started playing and the answer is 'not that I know of'. The only option is not use them, but that would require your opponent to also not use them, which is beyond your control. Some players don't use them, though. I went through a phase early on of not using them, and even disliked the option of having them. Over time I realised that they are actually useful and can be used strategically to mislead your opponent as well as revealing their location. It would have been nice for the host to have the option disable them, though.
Duckwit, 2 questions. How do I find out how many invaders I've killed and 2, how do I get more invaders to invade me? I usually only get 1 then it will put me on cooldown. Frustrating. Love the content!!
Invaders killed shows up once you win or lose an encounter with one, I don't know of a way you can see it outside of that. Kills as invader is readily visible on the Axis Invasion screen, though. As far as maximising your chance for invaders, only complete one main objective and then focus on the optional ones. Completing main objectives will end the invasion window sooner, I had it myself once on Atlantic Wall and invasions were over when I was around half way through! Reloading a save should also reset the invasion status in some cases. Sometimes though it just doesn't match you up, one of the scrapped recordings of Kraken Awakes was open to invasions the entire time and I didn't get matched with any! Usually you get two of them over the course of the mission!
That would be difficult and would require some extremely good fortune! I think you can only destroy trucks by shooting the engine, which takes 2-3 shots without AP ammo, which the invader doesn't have. Getting a player to stay still that long could be tricky, even if they are downed! I also don't know if the invader can damage friendly vehicles, as they cannot harm friendly soldiers, but I can try it, I guess!
Its a bit more complicated than that. The invaded player has way more ammo, two types of special ammo for each weapon including AP ammo that can shoot through objects, 3 Tellermines, 3 grenades, 3 tnt, 3 Schu-mines, a medkit and 3 bandages (all can be replenished from bodies and supply caches), has the ability to pick more stuff up from around the map, including special weapons like MG-42's and Panzerfausts, and has the ability to see through walls on every difficulty other than Authentic difficulty. They also have an invader direction finder at medium to long ranges, and can use the phone twice to reveal the invader without revealing their location, and is able to use it immediately. The Invader has limited standard ammo, and 1 grenade, 1 mine, 1 medkit and a bandage, can't pick anything up, has no direction finder and can't see through walls. They can only use the phone after 5 minutes, and it always reveals where they called from to the invaded player. The only ability the invader has is the ability to tag enemies so you can see if they become alerted or die if you check the map enough. You can also invade co-op players so its 2 players vs the invader. If you match with a player who has cleared the map and rigged it with traps it is absolutely unbalanced in their favour and is not a good time for the invader!
Love your videos and invasion mode, hopefully i get a chance to match with you some time to get killed by a pro xD take a sub with this comment from me :P
You play far too cautiously. I would've killed all these guys in half of the time that you did with them. Sneaking means nothing as a Jager as the Allied Sniper has senses, unless you're playing on Authentic difficulty, there is really no point.
Good for you! You keep doing your thing. I mostly do play on authentic so my style has developed from that. The hosts senses are only effective if you're too close or too far away. I don't get close, so my tactics work for me, so I'm going to keep doing my thing, thanks.
If you sprint around in the open, you are visible from 2-300 meters (and less of course). So stealth is important. Also he likely runs around more than you can see in the video, again it’s edited.
Yes, trying to figure out how best to do it. We did some coop in last weeks stream (the replay of it is currently on twitch and will be coming to the channel early next week). To make it a series I think I’m going to need people who are willing to speak down mic, although those sessions won’t be live broadcast so there is less pressure. People who don’t want to speak are welcome to join me when I’m streaming. I’ll be gauging whether there is interest in a series on the next Axis Invasion video.
@@Bruh-si6ri it’s a good idea, would need to test to see if it affects both players. I know that turning them off doesn’t affect invaders at all (invaders have always had all of the perks from the start and they cannot be disabled, so it would make it much easier for them). It also depends on whether it’s loud play or not. Loud play without the perks is not possible because you have to be able to shoot while downed in order to survive, at least using my rule set. Its definitely worth investigating, it would make standard gameplay slightly harder if you get spotted. If you can maintain stealth though, it doesn’t make a huge amount of difference. It will need some testing!

Like you said in one of your other videos, it’s just about playing it enough to the point where you can just use your head to get a sense of what to do and where to be
Is there a way to play axis invasion without the phones revealing your/their locations?
I'm on kraken awakes us server at the moment
Did you finally get your match
can u try to do a kill by wound the opponent next to a truck and then blow the gas tank?
That would be difficult and would require some extremely good fortune! I think you can only destroy trucks by shooting the engine, which takes 2-3 shots without AP ammo, which the invader doesn't have. Getting a player to stay still that long could be tricky, even if they are downed! I also don't know if the invader can damage friendly vehicles, as they cannot harm friendly soldiers, but I can try it, I guess!
Thanks, Its been a long time that I haven't play sniper elite and probably the game has been change alot 😁
Oi Duck! How do I find you on Steam or Discord? 😃
I can’t figure out a way of telling you without also broadcasting it to everyone! Maybe it’s easier if I find you on steam?
/@@duckwit85 For some reason I had assumed that TH-cam had pm's... apparently not!
@@Nifter71it did in the old days haha
btw I'm the only Irish Nifter on Steam
gg
Daaamn so you get all the AI help but the invadee gets nothing but phones? Rough
You don’t even know how much time he spent 😂. It’s an edited video.
If you sprint around in the open, you are visible from 2-300 meters (and less of course). So stealth is important. Also he likely runs around more than you can see in the video, again it’s edited.
Love the vids mate keep up the good work! Are you still wanting to do a co-op playthrough/series with someone cause im down for it @Duckwit.
@@duckwit85 lovely i hope the response for it is welcomed!
@@duckwit85maybe you can run co op with no perks or it might be to easy
