When playing with gamepad, fisticuffs usually results in death since...when you decide to stop the Kung Fu and get your gun out, they'll also gun up and walk lazily to the left pumping rounds into you, whilst your sight won't track them quickly enough. Or because of crap dead zones you'll shoot either side of them. They get a tonne of rounds into you before you pop them.
20:35 that can happen in this game. I discovered it by accident as the invader. I mined the door from inside the dome in secret weapons, and they were both tagged suddenly. Somehow they triggered the mine by walking around on the other side of it. So I can confirm it’s a thing.
@@Vectorspace000 kraken especially is good fun and a great challenge. It has great replayability as you can approach the ship from all angles and in all ways.

Bought this game just before the winter sale ended, and been playing it on and off the last week and having a blast. I've done the single player campaign once from start to finish, not going through each mission to unlock all the starting points and gun attachments I missed. I've found the way I like to play the game, is by both ignoring, and torturing the invader. By which I mean, playing on Normal, I figure out which part of the map they are on using focus or the phone for the exact area, and ignoring that half of the map. And if they use the phone to find my location, I immediately abandon that objective and pivot to one on the other side of the map if I can. I am also a Trapper. Out of all the Invaders I have killed, like maybe 3 have been me shooting them. The rest have all been booby traps in choke points and walk ways. And No, I don't start when I get invaded, I start trapping the second I start the map :P So any invader, no matter where they spawn, if they come near me, or where I have been, they will find it very much filled with Teller Mines and the Knock out mines which may or may now be next to TNT as well. Most invaders die without me ever actually seeing them. lol I haven't tried invasion too much, not knowing the maps, objectives, and doing stuff from the side of the players I invade, so I have a hard time finding, tracking, and locating them like you can. And even tho I have done the Campaign, some early game maps 2-3 times, I still haven't touched the DLC maps. So think I am going to go do those first, and any starting locations, guns, or attachments unlocks tied to those maps, before pivoting and switching to actually more invasion focus. I just wish that kills as the invadee, the person being invaded, counted as kills for Invasion mode and thus invasion mode unlocks. Cause I have killed a lot of 'Players', but because I am not the invader, they don't count at all.

Several times while invading games (I'm playing on PS4), I've been connected to the Karl's audio, I can hear through their live mic. In many instances, I've quit the game because their audio is MUCH louder than the game sounds, which can obviously put me at a disadvantage. But it it also interesting. Several of these invasions have been into CoOp games, in various languages. Also, none of them have been interested in a rematch. I tried turning my mic on to see if they can hear me, but none of them did. Anybody else run into this? It made me wonder if Rebellion was experimenting with cross chat in Invasion mode...
I’ve not had it happen myself on PC, but have seen a couple of clips from another PS player who has had that issue. I also had a player on my Discord server report that they invaded a coop game the other day and it spawned them as Harry Hawker next to the coop duo they were supposed to be hunting (they were playing as invader) like it would if you rematched in a coop game and it spawns the dead player next to their partner, so it seems to be a bug where the game isn’t properly differentiating the invader from the Allied players!
Just completed all achievements for this game. Still gotta get all medals gold yet. One of my favourite game series, I just wish they didn’t add focus mode especially to multiplayer. Alone with sound appearing in minimap. Other than that the game is great 👌🏻

Do you have any invasion advice as Karl for new SE5 players that pretty much exclusively play this series on authentic and with iron sights when available. I’ve been invaded quite a few times and have won most of them, but I find a huge issue I’m running into is trying to keep the AI off my ass. Also should I be ashamed of staying quiet when invaded and making the Jager work for it lol
No, you absolutely should not be ashamed of making the Jäger do some work! Hunting you is their job and it’s your job to not make that easy for them! Running around making noise makes their job incredibly easy, so I’m certain they find playing against a sneaky player like you a welcome challenge, particularly if you’re only using iron sights! As for the AI, the best advice is to take them down quietly, in missions where there are high concentrations of enemy soldiers it is the only way to not get swarmed. On those missions a fast firing weapon is also very useful and can get you out of trouble! Also, disable alarms before engaging where possible, the reinforcements can be lethal! Take a good silenced sidearm with you too and rely on that for those situations where you need to keep the noise down. The HS22 (HDM) is great, and the 1911 with the .22 stealth conversion can be reduce audibility to 20m when combined with certain components!
On the topic of weapon customization, I too think the SE 5 options are fun, but as a long time shooter it have to say that a fair amount of it is pure bullsh!t, and some of the finer details are actually backwards. Prime examples are the "overpressure magazine" option on many weapons. Of course, magazines don't have any effect on the cartridge being fired, period. Another would be "short travel trigger" showing a Con of "reduces spread accuracy," and the "long travel trigger " shows a Pro "improves spread accuracy." Rubbish, in both instances, not to mention that a skilled shooter can shoot MORE accurately with a shorter travel trigger. Oh, and let's not forget the Ammo choices, where Match ammo Pros claim "Greatly reduces bullet drop." Match ammo is actually just made more carefully, if you will, with tighter tolerances on propellent charge, case length, bullet seating depth, etc. Match ammo should produce tighter groups, what SE5 refers to as "spread accuracy." That's it. In most cases Ball and Match versions of military ammo use the same bullet weight and shape at the same velocity, so the bullet drop at any distance is the same for both. Sorry for the little rant! Bottom line, the customization bits are fun, and definitely an improvement over SE4.
Nothing wrong with that rant at all! Informative comments and discussion around the game, such as this, are always welcome. It reinforces my assertion that the game is purely designed as a fun pulpy story set in a historical context rather than an actual attempt at historical accuracy, as a few people have argued it is over my time making videos in this game.

Do snapshots where you only press the fire button without aim. A scope is too much for someone right in front of you. Or play with bayonet.

I’m pretty sure turning voice chat off in the audio settings should solve that problem.
