im excited for the goofy mod that adds the "aerodynamic armor" that has +20% move speed on every piece plus 100% for the complete set
Crafted commando boots lvl6 that add 20% speed, it feels like I'm flying. I'm going faster running than biking, and using less stam. New armor sets are broken, way too powerful.
Drinking a beer while working on your motorcycle makes perfect sense
I hit tier two quests today ... and clearing the upstairs of a small house got attacked by 8 feral zombies. The killed the crap out of me, and I'm only playing on nomad (that tier 3 was ridiculously easy). :P And I had no idea updating those storage boxes gave more space!! I'll be doing that. Also, good to know about the xp ... I always made that kind of a priority, which I will stop doing.
Amazing how as a game supposedly progresses for 10? years, it actually got less fun to play.
It's developed by the fun police. Whenever they see someone having fun in a way they don't approve of, they intervene.
All they did the last years is change game mechanics over and over, didn't really improve gfx much, no story, progression even more broken than it was. I now switched to not recommending the game to potential players.
Hopefully the full 1.0 release will finally bring the kickstarter promised Duke and his Bandit faction 14 years nearly iv been waiting for the Bandit faction to finally make their appearance.
According to the roadmap released by TFP the bandits and the story mode additions will be Q2 and Q4 of 2025. So its a definite maybe, LOL

It's only called 1.0 because games have to be in minimum 1.0 for console releases which it's coming to console on the 25th
Hope TFP can move more towards a mixture of learn by doing and their magazines. Or move to the PZ system where you literally learn.
The Project Zomboid system is the same thing as the magazine system except wastes more time.
They had a mixture of crafting quality governed by skills taken and you needed magazines or waste skill points to unlock the ability to craft stuff.
They used to have learn by doing. I don't think they will bring it back but it would be nice.

i do agree with just make more storage but also i havr serious video game hoarding issues so more and bigger storage is a big plus lmao
Well, the XP thing is kinda good, but not early on, say first 10days/before level 30. Usually what I do is, I rush the bicycle in day 2 if lucky if not day 3 morning. Then I go to the snow biome right away ( because that's the best risk/reward biome ) and start grinding tier 2 stuff. Yes this is risky since I'm building a horde base in the snow and you usually get cops by day 7, but most of the time I get a sledge turret from tier 2 POIs. I use a typical stair/stagger base design with 6 meter 0.25 poles at the end so they can slide down if they clump up, sledge turret in front to help thin up the zombies. After day 7 is basically mid game for me since I fight ferals and rads. This is where the XP comes into play as leveling won't make a difference in difficulty wise if you cheese zeds with hatches in tough POIs, but your other sub skills are important now. I gave the sledgehammer build a go in this update and it's too overpowered now with the 60% preacher gloves. High base damage multiplied by book perks and stuff. This is done on Insane Nightmare except during the day where they're 1 setting lower and are sprinting and 64 zombies during horde night. Those gloves are a game changer and made insane look more like a between warrior-survivalist. But yeah , mid game and end game is 50% XP bonus for me during horde nights and POIs. I see a lot of people complaining about ammo early on. By day 14 I stopped having issues because when I'm done with the STR skills I always go into INT for that 25% barter. By day 21 I was selling almost all normal ammo and bought AP ammo from the traders and made horde nights a cake walk. In the end, XP is hella worth it but it's not for early game.
Only day 8 and Iz's brainstorms are already sending him off on tirades of the authenticity of rustic-core business practices
I used the tracking on the steel challenge and was surprised at all the places in the city had wrenchable steel. Like the lights in the bus stops and the little pedestrian crossing lights at Intersections.

That tier 3 questing was nutty. I was getting radiated zombies from tier 2 clears on the 1.0 release I’ve been playing. And we’re talking like 2-3 radiated per room and nothing less than feral. And that’s on only difficulty level 4 😬

The Nerd chest piece at lvl 2 allows 10% chance for extra levels when reading books. I got the level 6 nerd chest which is 50% at an extra level, so now im at like day 11 with a bunch of skills maxed out.
I feel that this version should have been Beta 1.0, TFP made a lot of progress this update but the game still has things going on that don’t feel like a full release
wasn't acid apparently found from scrapping those bio hazard barrels in POIs, they're green as far as I can recall
i think you have to read wasteland treasure volume 3 before scrapping green barrels, or else it just gives iron without the acid
I heard someone say that except for the first line of challenges the rest of them shouldn't be looked at as tutorials but as their name suggests CHALLENGES. Yes, reading can give you some tips but doing them is side and hard to accomplish stuff for rewards IF you want to do them. Sometimes things with a game need to be tackled with a different mind set.
Only an extra 2 rows? Damn, unless you’re making a hybrid base or are doing a compact build that seems fairly negligible. Should at least be 3-4

@@ArashiGold yeah but in what world is that worth it. 1 block space isn’t that hard to come by unless for the reasons I stated above. Unless you have a surplus of steel I don’t see the point

Double check your Wasteland Treasure books, there is one that as long as there is something in a first aid self if you break it down there is a chance you can get acid. Also, acid can be found in sink cabinets in kitchens.

If you go intellect its so easy to get the vehicles fast, I love the Stun baton with the repulsor mod. Its the best :)
They should have made cop cars drop a battery every time. How would the alarm work without a battery? The fun pimps are weak sauce
Bought a blue pump from Rekt. Was like 5800 Dukes. I haven't seen any purples for sale at all - but I'll gladly take a blue pump on day 25. I also made my first purple thing - made a purple bat. Those are actually pretty good at knocking more than one zombie back if you sort-of do a rotating swipe at them. Definitely noticed a big difference between that and the green one I was using. I like using the clubs because they're more reliable. You'll get times when you want that extra knock back to happen and sledgehammers and batons will let you down.
you shouldn't be able to buy or find purples anymore - just crafting them with legendary parts.
They should of mad some new vehicles with mod to allow Z's to be rammed. Heck they could have made a skill tree/ perks for driving
You can also find nitrite in the yellow and black body bags you see laying around! I use those for nitrite and wrotten flesh for farm plots
I'm missing alpha builds of the game, where i can get good equipment from tier 4 quest rewards. But in 1.0 i can get only magazines and antibiotics to make me happy. The game became narrowed with grind of resources from nature. Not from quests. My poor casual...
There's a great meth-house POI that has a bunch of those little lootable chemistry station looking things and they have a great chance at acid. I think I found 3 acid in just one clear.
Of course, finding the POI would be an issue i'm sure.
I don’t like the magazines that much. I play on console and I was perfectly fine with learn by doing. It made you fight zombies and explore and craft

Tier 4 quests are brutal even in the pine forest. Spawned a feral biker and feral mo in the end of butcher pete totally destroyed me who only have a level 4 handgun. I am only game stage 38.

So far for my just agility build, I've gotten a full set of assassins gear. Assuming that's meant to happen due to what I'm putting points into.
Do you have the book for chopping medical closets for axes? Remember you have to search the closets, then leave the loot in, and then axe them.
The thing about more workbenches I'm actually confused why you don't have more campfires and more sorted storage boxes. I made 4 dew collectors as soon as I could so I have water for glue crafting and more food choices. Also I started out as a strength build and it was really, really bad for early/mid game. Had to respec into intelligence. Loving the melee weapon so busted
you can get acid out of the medics closet by scraping it ( axe ) whit the loot still in it . 1st open it leave loot in it than axe it it will drop a bag whit your loot and a chance on acid . if thy did not nerfed it , fixed it . removed it .
I literally went from a Lv.2 > Lv.5 stun baton then unlocked Lv.6 2 missions later now I need more parts 😂
Looting chemistry sets in POI's have been the luckiest for me for finding acid.
So, serious question here... How hard do you want it to be to get one? 30 days? Only at tier 5 traders? 30 quests?

If you're actually prioritizing vehicle mags and engineering down the intellect tree it's probably fair to get one by week 2 at some point, but without those things it should definitely take longer yes.
if TFP give "minibike bundles" at tier 2 completion and presumably "motorcycle bundles" at tier 3 completion, they are assuming there is a chance that you will complete tier 3 quests before having a motorcycle built. .. which is 10 tier 1 quests + 10 tier 2 quests + 10 tier 3 quests.
used to get acid from the big hotels like ostrich hotel, alot of sinks. not sure if it's worth the fight though.

Not to put a damper on your obvious enthusiasm for this playthrough but I had to scrap 47 vehicles to get 3 batteries. I found more than that in car loot while trying to finish the challenge.
I love 7dtd but honestly can’t play with all the changes.

Reading to get better things sucks. I put all points into spears to get a nice early boost but no spear books appeared. All armour.

Just hit tier 5 quests today, if you go solo, assasin armor + Stealth/Stealth Damage Perks go ridiculous
all it takes for tier 5 Clearing/Pickup is patience and intuition theese fckers hide everywhere
Is the summary of 7dtd just doing trader quests? I know there's more to it but is it based on trader quests? Like could you play through with no traders and not take forever to get late game crafting/skills?
you can ignore traders to some degree, there are skill book bundles in air drops sometimes, but you can just go to and exhaust all the Crack a Book POIs and make decent progress into the late game. The game design steers you to visit each of the traders (through the challenges) so it is assuming you are a completionist

It's a bit better. I remember seeing a TH-camr (coulda been you) get a motorcycle on day 1... just wrenched the world and sold everything to buy it.
yea that sounds like something Prebuilt would do, but that was in Alpha 21 where you could get lucky and see a motorcycle in Bob's inventory on day 1.. in A22 they made the trader inventory rebalance so you won't find endgame stuff until... well endgame.

Did they fix the bug where you axe a medical cabinet on the wall with items inside and it drops a bag with acid in it?
not a bug, that's a special perk unlocked from a specific wasteland treasure magazine. if you read it, you can get acid from medical cabinets.
guys i bought this game on steam and after a few hours of not finding any set items i realized it was still alpha, when is the public pc release?

but besides 95% of the rewards is just xp what is useless
there is a difference - in beeing challenging or just annoying
i moved to live in the desert on my current playthrough on day 3 - its day 25 and i had 15 coyotes........ xD

im not sure they not willing to fix their stupid "find books - learn by reading - crafting system" - or they simply cant
but it hardly feels to me - instead of fixing/improving their system - they nukked another one instead (trader quests)
the rewards are just abysmal

makes the game a little harder because you will have to travel further and further to find loot and gives you a better sense of realism
Realism is dead in this game, especially when my weak cattle prod makes a zombie fly over a house.
I am past day 14 and can't find or get a crucible. what is easiest way to get crucible now?
Tbh, i didn't want to collect any more mags to unlock it. Just save and buy them at a trader. Bought crucible and anvil, and that was it
I recommend going to the desert and finding as many Trader Bobs that are in your game file, they have a boost to 'workstation tools' so sooner or later they will have the crucible on a trader restock day.

why nobody puts points into salvaging ? i use to put at least 3 or 4 pts into early game i got a lot of scaps from cars & appliances by this way
content creators believe no one wants to watch them break down cars or dig dirt. so they invest in skills that boost their combat efficiency, so they have an easier time at gathering zombie-kill-content. As you may have noticed, as a solo player or in a multiplayer server there is no real need for you to get your exp just from zombie kills, you can focus on salvaging and make a decent progress- but no one is coming to YT to watch you do that.
