@@reneklassen Sometimes the magician's trick IS magic. Like, you wouldn't have mind the way it was made because you didn't know it was possible. Do what you can rather than feeling limited by what people think you can do. That's the way it's inspiring to me. And for what I know, kind of typically french, as a french quote says "Tout le monde savait que c'était impossible jusqu'à ce qu'un ignare qui ne le savait pas le fasse" => everybody knew that wasn't possible until a fools, that didn't know it, does it
bro I literally clapped while watching that. I thought Victor would suddenly become a villain or somethin at the end of the series, he's such a well written character, not just because of his genius, but the slowburn of his evolution, and that it all seem natural to a human on that level of intellect.
My favorite part is when they asked, "How do you texturize it to look like a painting? ". And she just says, "We paint" (Like what else did you expect 😁)
I expect some form of procedural texturing in order to save thousands of man hours and therefore thousands of dollars that's what. It can be done too. Guess its not special and has no love either so they opted out.
@@wasdwasd609 I kinda know that is what people would expect these days because I get that question a lot and procedural texturing is really something we should adapt as much as possible. But you are right, procedural painterly effect never attracted me so far. Maybe they do lack some love after all XD
Thats a actually a very reasonable question. 3 d texture and paint algorithms have gotten better and better and I wondered the same thing myself when first watching the series. Ive directed and been involved in quite a bit of animation over the years and technology is always changing and progressing. Now with AI I think some new tools will be able to be developed that will be less bespoke and hand painted yet still be able to have that look and feel. I hope it doesn’t take them years to produce the next season but even if they never produce another one, the first one is exquisite.
@@umanoid1523 I see. I guess most people would wonder about that. But for me I was super excited when I had my first look at Arcane trailer because I knew for sure that it was manually handpainted. Mostly because I am a handpainting artist myself and was amazed at the tenacity of their team who dared to pull it off! But you are right! Probably in near future I will get fooled by AI ! I better get ready for that day XD
There’s more to Arcane than just being a well written show, everything from the soundtracks, the execution, the animation, the voice acting, literally everything was a 10/10. You can tell when a show was given 100% of the production team’s efforts.
I tend to be pretty picky with the different aspects of a show, and I also found it was a f***ing 10/10. It just blew my mind. Am actually just about to go to watch it a third time. Thanks Riot for giving Christian and his team a chance to show us what they had in them. Thanks Fortiche team for your talent and attitude. Thanks everyone that worked on bringing to life this wonderful project. Love from France.
Re: "Everyone will know its Ekko as soon as they see the mask" - as someone who didn't know anything about LoL - every reveal in Arcane was a complete and wonderful surprise!
Same! I never played LoL, and it was a big surprise for me. I was going to read the lore after watching Arcane because it blew my mind how good it is, but I decided not to so that I can be surprised again in season 2!
It really did break the video game adaptation curse. It's a rarity when the animation and writing both top notch. I just hope season 2 will live up to the first.
I believe the key is that you do not try to bring the game alive. Arcane tells the story of the characters, not the game itself, and the writing of it is excellent. You can add in little easter eggs for the fans.
I believe it helps IMMENSELY that they choice to make it an animated series. Heavy fantasy/magic-based series oftentimes work better animated, imo. The fact that they created a new story almost from scratch and were willing to put a lot of resources into it also are a big reason for the success.
@@TimoRutanen I think that sentiment only applies to adaptations of games that are mostly light on story, like LoL. Games like that are best adapted into movies/TV shows just as you said: by telling the stories of the characters in the games, and not the story of the game itself. But when you're making an adaptation of a game that's already heavy on story, like Resident Evil or something, you should stick to the story of the game. 99% of the time film adaptations of story-heavy games massively stray away from the story of the games in an attempt to tell their own thing, which often doesn't work well. Like, for instance, the Uncharted movie would have been so much better if it was a retelling of Uncharted 1 instead of a mediocre prequel. When it comes to adaptations of stuff like LoL, it's best you go the Arcane route. But when it comes to adaptations of singleplayer, story-driven games, it's best you stick to the source material closely.
@@HeyLeFay While there are certainly some scenes in Arcane that could have really only been done via animation, I bet Arcane could have been a live action series and it would have still been great. Only problem is that it would cost a lot of money to make Arcane as a live action show.
@@simplyrohith2163 i agree. Though, it could be if the rest of seasons come put as good as s1. At least 3 seasons of s1 quality would convince me it’s the best series of all time
The most critical factor of this entire show was how they handled Jinx. The portrayal of a psychotic character can really make or break a film or series. Nothing is more cringe than a psycho behaving like a nerd at an anime convention. They really took the time to make her believable and not too over the top. Suicide Squad should take some notes.
Literally every character in this story is important to become convincing. Christian Linke answered to a question what the most difficult character regarding the adaptation from game to this show was, that it was Heimerdinger.
@@mullworm I'd agree, how can you make someone understand how a YORDLE thinks and why someone like him would be both so starry-eyed and yet so jaded, even when it comes to human life?
@@bappojujubes981 yes, and there is a high risk that he will not be taken serious or will be seen as a laughingstock, a childish fluffy furry ball. Like Jar Jar Binks or an Ewok. PS. Fortunately they got Mick Wingert as the english voice actor, who is so outstanding in voice acting that he gives va lessons by himself. In an interview he spoke about the tough work to give Heimerdinger an appropriate voice.
I think it was incredibly important to show that Jinx wasn't always like this. Traumatic moments, huge losses and breakdown, tested her and she failed that test and became detached and violent. Whereas VI was also tested in the same way but did not have a breakdown and uses violence to protect herself and others. The real difference between them is Jinx thought her sister betrayed her and that shows the importance of attachment and love to someone psyche. Really powerful stuff if you think about it.
He started off as customer support at riot? That is... crazy. Ended up as Director for Arcane. I'm a software engineer and I could only dream to work on something like a Riot IP.
IIRC, Christian was in customer support but it was discovered that he previously had had a previous life in a rock band in Germany before moving to CA to join Riot. That musical background led to his involvement in some of the musical scores for the champion releases which led to him eventually being the lead composer of the music team, setting the stage for the Get Jinxed music video which was the first pairing of Fortiche and Riot which led to (eventual) creation of Arcane. That is some crazy mega butterfly effect in action.
I mean, they did a doc about themselves. Of course they were gonna leave out corpo stuff. Corpos do this all the time. Doesn't mean the doc is bad, but it's not rare really.
@@mirkiekishkaI mean they worked on this show for six years without much funding at all. Especially with not knowing how the show would be accepted. You have to have a special kind of passion in your work while working on a project like this for years without much support.
@@zoerosemarie8938 when I say they, I mean corporation, of course I don't mean individual people who worked hard on the show. I'm just saying I've seen a lot of docs like this, they are always self-congratulatory.
I’m 50 years old and my 14 year old daughter got me to watch Arcane. I’d never heard of League. This series literally changed me - unbelievably well done. Never seen anything like it. Can’t wait for season two.
That's the key, really, making new content based on an established IP requires it to be attractive to people who know nothing about the IP, BUT ALSO making the original fans happy. It's really, really hard. We've seen plenty of examples where this wasn't done, and it's a tragedy, really. Halo and Resident Evil come to mind.
Honestly. I always heard horror stories of LoL's community and the game. Gave this show a shot since I am a big fan of animation. Immediately was entranced with the art, stories, and the overall quality of the show. Never have I been more pleasantly surprised.
@@ahandsomelad I'm so happy you gave it a shot. As a person who has been playing the game for like seven years. The horror stories are very real. However despite all the bad that comes with league I've literally met two of my closest friends in person this year because of playing this game with them for so long. This show honestly brought me and the guys to tears it really felt like also a love letter to the community at the same time.
Arcane WAS the moment The animation style The facial expressions The lore The story The songs The characters They were all displayed and given in such a beautiful and interesting way that beats any other animated show All combined to create one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, thank you Riot Edit: Your right, Arcane IS the moment
The lore? The characters? What lore? What characters? It's yet another alternate universe, like Star Guardian, that has no bearing on the canon or individual characters of thereof.
@@LecherousLizard Not true, Arcane and the future shows for other regions and characters ARE canon as universe. Similar to how Spirit Blossom theme is canono in LoL's universe.
@@fizaanhussain5228 I think they are implying that they are terminal and would like to see season 2 before they pass away. I don’t think that’s too much of an ask from someone that is actually dying.
I doubt most people can even grasp how hard it is to pull something like this off. Artistically speaking, it's huge, not only in terms of a viewer's perspective, but also from the perspective of the artists that make them, it takes a lot of experience and talent to get to that level.
"I think it has potential" BRO, Fortiche has made the GREATEST piece of media Ive seen EVER. The animation, the voice acting, the story telling is beyond 10/10. they made HISTORY
not to take credit from the animation as it was perfection moving nor the voice actor or story telling but to call it the greatest piece of media its a little too much, clearly you haven't seen some animes that have come out as of recent years. Some of them rank number 1 of any series made so far
@@mrsuperselenio5694 clearly you on drugs bro. nothing exists in this world currently in animation to this day that tops this. NOTHING. if your opinion differs then point me to something so that i may see for myself and judge
The whole story is basically Christian constantly going to Brandon and Marc, like a kid to parents, to ask for more money 😂 On a serious note, this is incredible. Everyone involved in creating Arcane deserves all the praises in the world. Christian is especially inspiring for me. Such a talented individual ❤️
Not to mention the founders of Fortiche, who were also mad artists with revolutionary ideas and visions. And were able to hire french animator talents who worked at some Hollywood's animation studios like DreamWorks.
It reminds me of Shawshank Redemtion where the main character gets a bunch of books and money for the prison library, after writing a letter every week for 5 years, asking for something for the prison library. After that he swears to write 2 letters a week :D
Just gotta say I second this, honestly the most visually and narratively impressive show I’ve watched and I’ve revisited it 4 times and every time I’ve seen a new and exciting narrative and meaning in the show so all this to say, great work and I can’t wait for next szn
The wonder of Arcane is the fact that, yes obviously there are things they could have done better, but there is not a single part in the entire show that I can point at and say "that was bad" Arcane is an absolute masterclass of writing, animation, visual storytelling, etc
@@brazz1578honestly the most i can think of is the chem barron subplot 😭 but i assume that when s2 comes out I can look back at it and think “ohhhhh that was the point of that subplot”
I just want to say that Fortiche really sparked a love for art that I had never felt before. I'm a 2D/3D artist and I've seen beautiful movies and series before, I apreciate art in general and I'm a digital art fanatic. But Arcane? I can't explain it. I've rewatched it multiple times, I search a lot about how they made the show because Fortiche's work, to me, is mesmerizing. I've watched this episode twice already. I feel my stomach rumbling and I feel like tears are about to start flowing everytime I watch it. I really hope they get the recognition they deserve. Their style is unique and every frame of Arcane is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Their previous work is just as good. I really hope I can meet the team someday and thank them for bringing me such joy and helping me in my artistic career. That is for sure one of my biggest wishes. Everytime I need a creative boost this is what I watch. Thank you, Fortiche! ❤
I want to say I never usually comment on TH-cam videos but I relate to what you have written SO MUCH. It literally makes me want to cry, I just can't get enough of the perfection this show has in every way possible. Hands down one of the most inspirational things I've ever seen in my life, not talking about shows or animations but in general.
I was shocked that something like Arcane was still possible, that sparks childhood new year/christmas enjoyment. And even wanted to try 3d animation after that. I"m a bit of motion designer and started learning music 2 years ago, so I continued pursuing composer career anyway (as you know, Arcane OST is bombastic aswell :D). Reading your comment, just wanted to say that maybe you will be working with Fortiche someday
i'm moving to LA to study animation in 2 weeks. THIS is what i wanna do, the people behind the scenes of this show have absolutely no idea how much they've influenced and changed my life.
Best of luck. Not sure what sort of work you want to do, but the one bit advice I wish I had gotten earlier was getting a system with at least 32gb of ram and getting a 4+ TB storage device for storing old projects. The ram gives you room to breathe when working with larger scenes, and the having (for a single user) unlimited storage for old project files makes it so that you can save iterations of every step along the way. Never know when a client want's to change something that they should have mentioned a month ago.
Honestly, as an aspiring writer, I look up to the writers of Arcane so much. This story along with their creative process is so inspiring, I hope to be a narrative designer one day and stories like these help me greatly. Thank you Riot!
I know right? I could barely create a cohesive reflection essay of how my vacation went. I can't imagine how much thinking and planning went into all of these by the team. As an aspiring artist, this show is a library to me.
I am blown away as to how insanely well thought every scene in the show was, just from the pacing and atmosphere you can already know they planned each and every second carefully. Props to Fortiche and Riots music department, especially, they understood the assignments amazingly well
An absolutely incredible show, huge respect for everyone involved that took the big challenge and pushed it through successfully. Cant wait for season 2.
I love how Riot didn't hire a well know animation studio. iirc they were approached by big companies and turned all of them down, and trusted the people who made the music videos to make their show. Like it was said "they may not have as much experience with animation but they have more League experience."
I respect Riot for choosing this kind of art style. I feel that most game adaptation or movies use the generic Japanese anime art style or something similar and they are not willing to take a risk because the anime art style has been proven to be a good style. This is what pushes the industry forward with new styles of art
Arcane is legitimately one of my favorite shows of all time. From the writing to animation and texture that you can feel on the screen, you can feel the love and passion from all of the artists who were involved!
I have never played League of Legends in my whole life, I'm just an artist and lover of animation.. Arcane got my interested through its visual style and when I started watching the first episode, about 10 minutes in I was thinking to myself "wow I'm about to experience something really really special" it was just this feeling.. by now I have watched it like 4 times and I'm obsessed.. I think it's one of the best shows ever made not just animation, period. But as an artist, I'm just especially fascinated by its style, especially the environments. So I just wanted to say thank you so much for this it's gonna be very inspiring
I was also amazed by how realistic fighting was showed in the first episodes. Even top end hollywood movies can’t even get close to that I realised Arcane has somehing special to it. Later this ended as the most emotional thing I’ve seen from media, definitely a masterpiece
@@VirusTechKEKW omfg shut up about thus mentality that league is so awful that u cant be happy if you play it. Ik its a joke but seriously its a really fun game played casually and with friends.
Jaw? Dropped. Excitement? Through the roof. I'm so happy this behind-the-scenes series is being made and released because it's a reminder that many things take tons and years of hard work to be realized! Can't wait for the next ep
I was never into LoL as a game, so I didn’t now anything about the lore. So when I watched Arcane I had no idea of what to expect. But now, after I binged both seasons, I’m so glad that you guys took the risk and realized what you have envisioned. You really created an animation master piece!
It moves me a lot when I hear Cristian talk about how it all started, with so much enthusiasm, love, caring about the community... I wish other companies cared like that about their franchises. I never played the game but the series is the best I've ever seen, I loved everything about it. So much that I'm about to install the lol
Hey, if you've enjoyed the LoL's lore then i suggest the LoR Game might suit for you--if you want some more juicy characters and stories, LoR is there. League of Legends were just made of pure gameplay and salt... nothing is meaningful there.
league could care less about lore, they tried to downsize the lore team multiple times and only didnt because of fan outcry. Now all the lore people have left (likely for the MMO) and theres only like 2 good writers left on the base league team (you tell me if nilah would have been an interesting champ if she wasnt a demon possesed freak)
oh, don't be fooled, they (on top) care very little about lore. It's all about profit for them. As you can see they had to be tricked into even starting this. When he said "Riot had problems with long term storytelling" he means it, that's a very old and infamous problem for them.
as an artist, seeing this fills my eyes with tears. And I know exactly how christian feels, Arcane is more than a league of legends project, it's his dream there, his realization and his worldview just like he said. It is a soul project, for him and for everyone. The disbelief of the executives for us is absurd, and I think of Christian. It's a great project with great minds, and I'm glad it finally came out. I'm excited for the new season and to know more about the background because I've always loved concept art.
I would love to see Riot doing more of these so we can learn/know the process behind their big events or projects like Arcane. This first part was surprisingly very inspirational to me since I would love to create characters and stories and it might be the case for others here.
A huge thanks for portraying all the amazing women in the show. It was so refreshing and inspiring to see them 💜 I’m glad that people who loves their work are able to create such masterpieces!
I'm so glad riot took this risk, Arcane is one of the best shows I've seen in years. The passion of Chris and Alex to drive this project paid off for this so well, here's to the great success and adventures in season 2.
I just wanna take some time out to say that in my eyes, Christian really is the star of this show. I have always loved him but love him even more now seeing how much he believed in and stood up for this show just to make sure Arcane became a reality. Thank you Christian, thank you Fortiche, Thank you Riot, Arcane's the best thing to ever happen to the animation industry.❤❤❤❤
Surprising to hear that this show may have gotten cancelled at any point and maybe it almost did there at the end in the meeting. Good thing they had that intervention though, I wonder what the story was before, but if it led to its betterment then it must have been inferior to what was delivered so bless them
Good on them for realizing the story wasn't good enough at that point. Bad story turns Arcane into something you remember as pretty neat fights and cool animations, but nothing really stuck emotionally.
Im very interested for the next episode. Story was the strongest part of Arcane for me, perhaps tied with the inventive animation style. Felt like there was never a wasted scene, so I'm very interested to see what happened between the release of the final product, and that intervention meeting of it almost being canceled
Please, PLEASE take 6 years for season 2... Or as long as it takes... PLEASE don't sacrifice quality in the name of a deadline... This is a work of art that needs time...
While I agree, I don't think there's a need for six more years. The narrative is already written, and since season 2 will be a direct sequel, many of the 3D models they'll use have already been developed. Now, if they were to change focus, and for example set season 3 in Noxus... yeah, that'll take some time.
@@We1mann Also, from the second episode of bridging the gap, we see there was a pause in production, from the initial pilot to the go-again with a new revamped story. From 2015 to 2018 approximately- with music videos rise and KDA pop-stars as projects to keep the team going, learning and refining the art techniques. So it "only" took them 3 years (2018-2021) once they restarted (with obviously a lot already done, especially the pilot and many assets, as well as having learnt the techniques, etc). Additionally, they started from a very small team of animators (a few tens), that were still developing their style, to a team numbering now in the hundred(s), probably most up-to-date. The team is ready, not understaffed anymore for a project of that magnitude. My guess is, they'd now "only" need 2 years for each season. Considering the story is probably thought of in advance, and they knew in advance that more seasons were funded, they probably started working on it even before the release of season 1 on November 2021. So my guess would be around fall 2023, maybe even summer. (Which is in line with what they announced: "it's coming, but not in 2022"- also implying they would not take another 6 years.) Of course, that's assuming it all goes according to plan, and no pause/ revamping the story is needed like for the 1st season. And I'm throwing in a lot of guessing from just watching their interviews, so consider my take with a really big pinch of salt XD
« It has potential » ends up being the animated series with the best ratings and winning the biggest amounts of emmys and award in history of animated series and blowing up all scales….
It's amazing too see a small company, when given a chance to express and have creative freedom, achieve so much. They managed to achieve, on their first full series project, one of the best animated projects ever. If not, one of the best media released on Netflix
I can't even begin to thank you, the creators and artists of Arcane, for bringing back my passion of art and illustration. I have been struggling with finding my own place in the art world for a while now. But ever since I have watched Arcane, it has lit the spark that was gone for years. I am now studying and working hard to become a concept artist in the future, hopefully going to get into a college in Europe one day. Thank you so much, Fortishe, and Riot Games. You have no idea how many people you've inspired with your work.
French animation has ONE major problem... lack of solid funding to back up their "studio's" ideas... there are a few animator schools in France and a lot of their students are promptly hired in the US big animation groups. But there, they have to work on order, not on a dream project. The French studio are "one hit wonder" releasing one project then failing by lack of financial backing, because the market is locked by the big ones. US theaters don't usually take chance on non US made (but for the occasional Japanese "Gibli") animation on a large scale enough to make it really profitable. Hence the studio fading in darkness. Now, TV providers like Netflix may change that, giving their chance with adequate funding to "obscure" studios. We'll see if the French touch get to do its magic in animation for a long time.
@@kolerickThe Fortiche studio has existed for a long time now and well before Arcane. French animation studios are doing well, I don't really see what you're talking about...
Rewatching the show again, I just had to say that in a world where you can visibly see the risk aversion in the industry growing (thus remakes become a norm and original content dies) it’s brilliant to see guys with some coin take a bloody chance for once. And not a half-arsed one either but one where the craft comes first and the bar isn’t lowered just to meet a release date. Well done lads, keep it coming!
Went into Arcane with low expectations despite being told its actually good by my friends. Needless to say I was blown away and dumb struck by the quality of animation, music, storytelling and characters. To get a look behind the scenes only reinforces my admiration for all involved, the level of care needed to pull this off is nothing short of extraordinary. Commendations all round.
love this, looking forward to the next parts. "how do you texturize it to look like a painting?" "we paint (laughs) " is still my favorite part. edit: 13:45 to the people who missed it, that's the guy who was fighting outside the brothel in episode one, and the guy screaming "happy progress day" on the back of the airship in episode 4.
"i feel like i just have voices in my head that argue alot and every now and again something they say makes sense and then you write it down." Sir i am 5 minutes into this thing how dare you hit so close to home already
For some reason this reminds me of something Sam said in Lord of the Rings. "I know now folks in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding on to something." So glad you guys did hold on to this show. I think I'm not being overly dramatic by saying that Arcane has been the best thing that has happened to League in years.
17:10 "a lot of great creative idea, theyre fragile. They start off as a dream and an idea and a vision and they haven't been fleshed out, necessarily." this is so aligned with the show itself
I felt that the most contentious and difficult to forgive character was Silco. He's manipulative, cunning, selfish and yet cared so deeply for Jinx. That last episode where the bubbling conflict comes a boil made me realise that Silco is not some "villain". Everyone was doing what they thought was right. Another scene that made me really think was Jayce and Vi's disagreement and the ultimate question of whether war was the right thing to do, and how personal war really can be, as well as how those in power may not know what it's like for those who aren't privileged. Jinx, of course, is excellent! I absolutely adored the style and the mix of 2D and 3D animation is really visually striking and entertaining. I appreciate that it doesn't fall into uncanny valley; it has a good balance of stylistic and realistic. It reminds me of stop-motion animation in the best ways. I was also shocked by Hailee Steinfeld's voice acting, as well as the rest of the cast. I'm glad Riot made Bridging the Rift! It's so insightful.
As someone who has never played league, Arcane is a masterpiece! Whenever I learn more about the show, it gets even better (if that’s even possible). I love that you guys are releasing behind the scenes content! Totally willing to wait for another great season!
Same here! I really dislike the MOBA genre as a whole, so I have zero knowledge of LoL lore or characters, but Arcane blew me away. Best thing I watched in 2021.
I don't even know where to begin. Chances are if you're reading this you love Arcane as much as I do. But there's just something about it that makes it the best piece of art I've ever experienced. I've watched it numerous times and I've watched the behind the scenes just as much because it makes it even more special to know how much effort, blood, sweat and tears went into creating it. The mere fact that human beings creating such a piece of art is beyond my understanding. The way I've described Arcane to others is, it's a series that I can't describe, you have to feel it. Arcane is a series that plays with my emotions like no other movie, series, book, painting or music can. The combination of the digital hand drawn animations, the story, the music, every single aspect manipulatimes my emotions in a way I can't explain. It is the most surreal experience. I often listen to some of the music from the series, particularly "What could have been" and I'm always taken on an emotional journey with that song, especially because of the importance it plays in the series. Again, it is beyond words to describe. Thank you to the team at Riot games for inspiring all of us by creating such incredible works of art.
The effort, the time, and the perseverance on making this show, to the point that there are times the project is on verge of being cancelled, are very commendable. Because of this, they made the show not just "okay", but a masterpiece
"I think he was a fool, but the excitement he had when he was talking about the show made the difference to me" This line shows how nice Christian was! Kudos to leaders like you!

Christian Linke is a living legend. Had he not founded the music department a decade ago, we wouldn't have any of the music Riot have produced, we wouldn't have Arcane.
seeing you guys being so nervous about the project and having doubt just let me realise the risks you guys were taking. Those must be quite stressfull times.
I love how you can really see some of the beginnings of the little quirks that made it into the final Arcane character adaptations. Like in the Animation Test run Vi runs her fist under her nose to wipe away the blood. She does that all of the time in Arcane. It becomes one of her little signatures with how they animate her.
This is sooo inspiring. This just showed me to never give up on your vision and to remain persistent and consistent no matter how long it takes. ❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
This is so freaking cool. I’m so happy to have this behind the scene. Cause the show is a masterpiece showed it to my girlfriend after weeks of convincing she’s never played League and now she’s a bigger fan of Arcane than I am. And we’ll be cosplaying Jinx and Vander. It’s freaking cool
Giving my huge respect and admiration for everyone involved in this awesome franchise. Watching this animated series form from scratch into the masterpiece we know now is such an honor to see. All the animators, writers, voice actors, staff and everyone involved in this, I'm so thankful to all of you!
Everything involved in making Arcane was like a perfect domino effect. I feel like a lot of the industry can be just as talented as Fortiche but are always being held back.

"In the pursuit of great we failed to do good." - has to be one of the most profound lines of dialogue I've ever heard.
bro I literally clapped while watching that. I thought Victor would suddenly become a villain or somethin at the end of the series, he's such a well written character, not just because of his genius, but the slowburn of his evolution, and that it all seem natural to a human on that level of intellect.

Ditto!
Same. Not only that, my mom's too.
Who is your favorite character?
I just watched it a second time and am now hyperfixated on it once again
It didn't break it, it defied it. No one else has succeeded yet

(Which is in line with what they announced: "it's coming, but not in 2022"- also implying they would not take another 6 years.)
Of course, that's assuming it all goes according to plan, and no pause/ revamping the story is needed like for the 1st season. And I'm throwing in a lot of guessing from just watching their interviews, so consider my take with a really big pinch of salt XD

I am so happy they're making extra content like this for Arcane. It's the best piece of art I've seen in my lifetime.
Never played LoL but watched Arcane 3 times. Truly one of the most incredible things I've watched in years. Crazy to see how it all came together
French animation is much, much better and more complex than Hollywood standard. Kudos to Fortiche and Riot for giving us Arcane
They are passionate. They already worked with Riot :)
It's cool that Riot decided to trust them again for such a project.
"If you're going to change the world... Don't ask for permission."
-Vikktor, best character imo.
(Thanks for the correction :))
Viktor is not a side character
@@itsgonnabeokay9341 brb ima just fix that
Rewatching the show again, I just had to say that in a world where you can visibly see the risk aversion in the industry growing (thus remakes become a norm and original content dies) it’s brilliant to see guys with some coin take a bloody chance for once.
"how do you texturize it to look like a painting?"
"we paint (laughs) "
is still my favorite part.
edit:
13:45 to the people who missed it, that's the guy who was fighting outside the brothel in episode one, and the guy screaming "happy progress day" on the back of the airship in episode 4.
"i feel like i just have voices in my head that argue alot and every now and again something they say makes sense and then you write it down."
Sir i am 5 minutes into this thing how dare you hit so close to home already
This show is actually a masterpiece and im devestated that it's ending so soon :(
Arcane isn’t just a show it’s a work of art
For some reason this reminds me of something Sam said in Lord of the Rings.
"I know now folks in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding on to something."
So glad you guys did hold on to this show. I think I'm not being overly dramatic by saying that Arcane has been the best thing that has happened to League in years.
What a masterpiece. The whole team should be proud.
They did it justice and then some!
Can we take a second to admire Christian being awesome at getting what he wants? If not for his insistence, where would Arcane be now?
I have a lot of respect to all people who made arcane. and probably if they make more thing in the futere ill be there to watch
they are making Arcane 2 you can see the Trailer
@@hugovibert163 well that for sure is pog
I NEED to see it!
Also thenks :)
As a 3D animation student an enthusiast I cried while seeing this. It deeply inspires me and gives me a lot of willpower for working on my future.
Stay tuned, more to come on the animation ahead!
You have to feel it. That's right.
The effort, the time, and the perseverance on making this show, to the point that there are times the project is on verge of being cancelled, are very commendable. Because of this, they made the show not just "okay", but a masterpiece
"I think he was a fool, but the excitement he had when he was talking about the show made the difference to me"
This line shows how nice Christian was! Kudos to leaders like you!
Honestly this is just so inspirational how they took risks and pursued this project with all their hearts and soul.
BEST SHOW IN THE WORLD ! HANDS DOWN
2years later and into season 2, OMG!!!! just a masterpiece!!!!
Arcane is literally one of the best shows I’ve ever watched in my life
Christian Linke is a living legend. Had he not founded the music department a decade ago, we wouldn't have any of the music Riot have produced, we wouldn't have Arcane.
Oh god please keep the same energy for the season 2 don't rush it! Arcane is my favorite animated series of all time now!
Vous êtes les meilleures !
seeing you guys being so nervous about the project and having doubt just let me realise the risks you guys were taking.
Arcane is something that went straight to the heart of many players and not only them, thank you very much for this, this is Awesome
Back here after Arcane Season 2 Finale, thanks for everything
Everything involved in making Arcane was like a perfect domino effect. I feel like a lot of the industry can be just as talented as Fortiche but are always being held back.
Jeez, even documental show about Arcane is captivating! After the last line I immediately want the second episode!
2:06 Lest from Season two on the left screen!! :O
Please take as much time as you guys need to make season 2 just as great, if not better than season 1! I'm sure no matter what, it'll be worth the wait. I'm so so glad you guys decided to make a documentary of the behind-the-scenes!
Just thinking about how time-consuming and exhausted both physically and mentally it must have been to make this complete animation is heart-warming! The insane competence, dedication and affection that the entire team behind this series had left me amazed!
My dad (50 years old) was watching arcane too and he loved it so much especially the animations. Arcane is a masterpiece, can't wait for season 2!!
"I think it has potential" he said... Man are you serious? Arcane is simply the best show of all time...! :D :D :D
I wouldnt go that far, but top 10 perhaps.
indeed!
@@GraveFable25 what would be in your top 10? For me, Arcane is top 1, Breaking Bad top 2, Chernobyl series top 3… but I haven’t seen everything, maybe I’m missing out some gems
@@deivytrajan very hard to make a top 10 but here goes:
1. Got (season 1 - 4)
2. Rome
3. Breaking bad
4. Mr. Robot
5. Arcane
6. Mob psycho 100
7. Your lie in April
8. Chernobyl
9. Spartacus
10. Full metal alchemist brotherhood
@@GraveFable25 well the story line is pretty solid but the animation, art direction and all is just wow... AND mostly the quality is consistent thourought all the episodes this is rare! :D only Breaking Bad achieved that so far (or maybe I missed something hehe ;p)
