‘I came here for the shiny things.’ That had me laughing out loud. I certainly understand your excitement. New irons are fun, but to be fitted by the company guys would put me over the moon. I’ve loved and played Mizuno irons for many years. I’m currently playing the 919 Hot Metal Pros and love them. And they’re shiny, too! lol
I've always been a Mizuno fan, I took the big step and was professionally fitted for irons a year ago. I'm a senior golfer with a nine handicap, we decided to go with the JPX 900 Hot Metal. The fitter was well qualified and so meticulous right down to the wrap on the grips ,, we went with a Recoil UST shafts. In all my years of playing golf being fitted was the best single thing I have ever done, I just love those irons ,, and they were built for me.
in 2016 my son had a full custom fitting at PING HQ in Phoenix Arizona... It was a dream of a lifetime for my son as he was only 16 years of age and was treated as if he was a pro..... We ended up with a full set of PING Irons, wedges, woods, driver and putter! His pro coach (Joel Van der Sloot) arranged the fitting as he worked with PING when he was on the European PGA tour and boy did my son get the first class treatment! After a 3 1/2 hour fitting he was allowed into the plant to watch the making of his irons which was amazing! Although his irons were made in front of us we had to come back the next day to pick up the entire order of wedges, woods, drivers putter and bag along with the irons! Everything was done in the "TOUR" department of PING which allowed for us to watch the build. It truly was a once in a lifetime event and one my son will never forget! Since then my son's game has improved dramatically and he has been trying out different clubs form various manufactures. Which brings me to a major change in my sons clubs and game!! Last year after playing 3 years with PING my son had a custom fitting by @Golf_Mizuno Rep Kris Wildenrandt in Las Vegas & has now switched from PING to Mizuno MP-18 MMC Iron set 4-PW W/Nippon Modus 3Tour105 shaft & Mizuno S18 50° & 54°Satin & 58° in Gun Metal . Sons handicap dropped from 3 to 1 over the last year and his only comment was "WOW" Thanks Mizuno! The Mizuno fitting was professional, informative and I would highly recommend any golfer to take advantage of there professional fitting & equipment! My son is looking at the new equipment out right now from Mizuno but is hesitance to make a change as his current clubs feel so great. I imagine in the near future he will be looking at the new club offers but for now he's really happy Thanks Mizuno for producing such great clubs and experience!!!
I went to a mizuno fitting last Saturday for the first time ever. I ended up with P-8 blade 7-6 mmc and 5-4 HMB. They got delivered today and I am sooo pumped. Perfect timing on the video. I have to say I think after this last week of mizuno experiences I think I am now a mizuno lifer. Thanks for the content! Paul - From Texas USA
Got fitted today for MP20 HMB and I couldn't be happier. Completely transformed my golf shot. It's almost beyond comprehension. Stopped fighting the clubs I had and got something that helped aide my swing, shaft and length adjustments deserve credit too.
What handicap? Are the long-mids tough to hit? I'm a 10 handicap and just ordered a 3-PW MP20 blade set with my custom fit shaft by Club Champion. I'm having reservations about not listening to my fitter regarding the long-mid irons. My Club Champion fitter advised I get the MMCs in the long-mids and get the blades up top but I just couldn't resist the blades. I hit about 30 shots with a 7 iron MP-20 blade and maybe missed 1 of the 30. I also gave the 919 tour and the MMC a run and I just kept coming back to the MP-20 blade. So I pulled the trigger on all MP-20 blades.
I play at a 9. I have been using blades since I started playing and was at a 17, then 14, then 12, now 9. Dont let people get to you with the blades. It just requires a sound swing that you can repeat and hit the middle of the club face every time,. You will be punished by off center hits. The blade forces me to swing with a solid frame and foundation to consistently hit the sweet spot.
@@TheGoldenriff this makes me feel better. I absolutely loved the blade feel. I think I do have a pretty sound swing. Now when you say punished, do you mean direction and/or distance? Because if it's more so punished with lack of distance, who would want a ball headed 30 yards right of target to travel the same distance? Wouldn't less distance keep you out of trouble more?
I got a set of jpx 919 forged irons for Christmas. I can feel the excitement you had Pete and got mine fitted about a month ago. I can’t wait to use them only been the sim so far but the joy when I hit them wow. So excited for this canadian winter to be over.
Love my MP20 mb's. I've been a Mizuno guy since the MP 33's. They are the best you can get. I would go nuts in the tour van with excitement.. very cool.

@@Salfrado These are the easiest blades I've ever hit, long irons included. I don't buy into the handicap thing, as many things determine your handicap, so you should play what you want. You are going to really like them.
I love Mizuno. Played MP-30s for years and then MP-60s. Just got fitted for MP-20HMBs today. Cannot wait for them to arrive. They are the best feeling irons. Love the feed back and their look is always amazing.
There’s undoubtedly great club manufacturers out there that all offer a great product and fitting service but you just can’t deny there’s something special about a set of Mizunos. I guess they’ve just had a reputation for quality and feel for as long as I can remember. I remember playing as a youngster and hitting the local pros blades on the range, it was instantly a feeling of pure excitement when the ball came off the face. Something I’ve remembered to this day and whilst I’m not playing them currently, I expect my next fitted set could see me playing Mizunos. Great vid and enjoying the content this so far now the shackles have come off again. 👍
Nothing like a Mizuno. Had a full fitting two weeks ago and 1st round shot 76 to a par of 72 off an 8 handicap. Even better was that it was done in 40 mile an hour winds last Saturday. Can’t ask for much more from a first go. I like you left my ego behind, really wanted the MP20 but the 919 hot metal pro was so much better for me and really happy with them. Looking forward to following your journey 👍
Mizuno is just Master Class! I've been playing my strusted MP33 until last year (from 2004). I have tried to find a replacement ever since but have failed. But then I noticed, you can still get them!!! Got a new set in my bag of those classic looking but modern performing pure blades in my bag. Stunning!
Lucky lucky man!! Have played mizuno blades since I was 15. Original tp19s 2i-pw, same with the mp14s and moved to mp4s 3 years ago. Cannot beat them. Looking forward to seeing you progress this year.
Comgrats. I have the SEL left handed MP20 set. There is nothing like a Mizuno. When you play with these you will instantly tell the difference from any other clubs out there. Enjoy your new set Peter.
This was funny, I just got home from my first ever club fitting where I got matched with a set of JPX 919 Hot Metal Pros, and this video is the first thing i see on TH-cam! Absolutely loved my fitting, cant wait to get my clubs. Unfortunately no tour truck to build them for me. They felt almost identical to the 790's but were $50 a club less, so it was a no brainer. Those two clubs were leaps and bounds ahead of anything else I tested on. Looking forward to this golf season!!!! For anyone out there who has not been fitted, give it a try. The whole experience was very fun, and cool how the changes effect the results.
An awesome and very funny watch - Pete turning on the magic and looking so happy, just like a kid in a candy store! I'm a complete Mizuno fanboy so this made me feel all cosy and fuzzy inside ;)
I’ve been playing MPs for years! I can get rid of them, custom fit and everything, it feels like I’m dreaming every time I hit them! My rival and buddy during Jr golf played the JPX and those are amazing as well! It is true that nothing feels like a Mizuno
You should make a video playing one ball with your new clubs and one with last year's bag to really see if there's a big difference! Love the videos Pete, you're a legend and a blast to watch
I used to play with Callaway and Titleist irons, my handicap came down from 24 to 14 and then plateaued. I got myself Mx-25 Mizuno irons and my game improved a LOT. I went down to a 2 handicap . I still have the same set, of course changed the shaft etc. I do NOT intent to change my irons anytime soon. Best feel out there.
Sitting here, quarantined. No golf. Canada. Wet. Cold. Stuck in the house (I'd play). I'm so jealous. Absolutely my next set of irons. Currently playing the pro825s from 6 years ago. It's time. I think I need to check the new driver out as well. Cheers.
I was just fitted for a set of HMBs today at Golf Galaxy here in the states. Was torn between the HMB and MMC. But the HMB to me just felt so phenomenal when I flushed them. So excited to get them and get out on the course as soon as the weather breaks.
Pretty neat to see how the pros do it. My brother and I have been fit for clubs then we buy our clubs and adjust them ourselves! Something very satisfying about adjusting your clubs yourself! And we have no one else to blame except us!😜
I got a used pair of MP-32's & got them adjusted for my ball flight & WOW did it help my ball striking! New clubs are little out of my price range. Lol! Love the video, Pete!!
Wish I had these opportunities to get fitted for these irons. This channel among others have kept me motivated towards my goals for golf this year and helped me realized that I good fitting and a good coach can make a world of difference.
Excellent choice Mr Finch. Mizuno have the purest feel of any brand I've tried and tested. Nice to see mr Alex Thorne on your video. I used to play with him as a junior at Windlesham GC. Enjoy those irons.
The Mizuno MP-20s are the irons I’m eyeing. They look so good and they’re traditional in lofts with minimal offset. No cranked up loft, stock 7-iron goes 200 yards. I’ve played over 15 years and never have had my own custom fit set, or any club for that matter, and I’m really looking at these.
I put fitted mizuno mp18 (PW-8) and mp18sc (7-3) in the bag at the start of last year. Don't know if it was the fitting or what, but I haven't had a terrible iron day yet. Great choice Pete, the only bad part is you never want to get them dirty.
I'm only slightly jealous. I'm sure you will be more than happy with your choice of clubs. I'm still playing my 13 year old MP32's so i could probably do with an upgrade. That fitting experience looks fabulous. 👍
Perfect timing as I'm looked to get fitted for a set of Mizuno irons. Surprised the HMB's didn't make an appearance. That kind of fitting would be a dream for most golfers.
"A blade strapped with a turbo and packaged with a heart of forgiveness"... the best quote from the epic movie and love story "Peter's blades" ... and the oscar goes to ... 😂🍾😝
I have been with my MP-18 SC’s for years now, and absolutely love them. Super consistent distance, and just hug the greens. The feeling of hitting my 3 iron... pure bliss. Can’t wait to see what you go with.
Getting fitted is such a superb process. Especially by such experienced guys as the Mizuno boys. I met Alex on the truck back in 2016 in Munich of all places, what a classy guy he is. And yes, Mizuno are the best irons on the planet 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
i just got a new set of of mizuno mp-20 mmc with modus 120g stiff shafts and i absolutely love them i’m so excited to start my high school season on monday with them
I hit some of these today and they’re lovely! But I must say I hit them alongside my mp-33s and there wasn’t enough there to make me change. I think they’ll be in my bag forever at this rate!!
You can't beat Mizuno irons. I had my first set back in the 1990's, T Zoid pro IIs, which are still in the loft. I am now playing a set of MP54s and love them.
I just recently started playing again and bought myself a set of new Callaway XR Pro irons which I'm totally blown away with. Always enjoy your content Peter, and keep up the great work. Cheers from Paul in Adelaide, South Australia.
Usually gaming Mizuno JPX-800 irons, I've just won an eBay auction for a set of beautiful MP-32 reshafted with KBS C-TAPER LITE shafts. Love at first sight. Collected few days ago, can't wait to game'em, hopefully tomorrow. Nothin' feels like a grain flow forged Mizuno! Cheers from Italy!
What a day!!! Beautiful clubs! I am looking forward to a Mizuno fitting with the HMB version. I have been playing a set of MP 23's for over 10 years. Time for a change!
I have had my old MX-15s for about 16 years now and they are the last subject to change in my bag (Only Mizuno item as well). Well...., unless I get the chance to upgrade to new Mizunos like you Finchy. Good stuff, Pete 👍 the combo set is a thing of beauty!
Nothing wrong with the MMC’s!! I was in your exact situation wanting the shiny, beautiful blades. But the MMC’s were the better option in consistency for me
Know what Peter? You swing has very nicely evolved compared to last year (beginning 2019)! more fluid, more stable, more control congrats for the work you've done!
Omg this has changed my mind.. I have been torn to get fitted for a full set of Mizuno in March but the fitters I have spoken to I haven’t been impressed with.. so was thinking of just keeping my irons and getting fitted for the TM Sim driver, 3 wood and hybrid. Along with a couple of new wedges and looking at my irons later in the year. I just knew watching this was a bad idea
Really pleased for you, these are my dream clubs, if I had the money for it I would kit all my irons out as Mizuno, there is just something so good about them, I really can't explain it.
I’ve watched now - I’m on my second set if Mizuno irons and I love them (MP20). For my next set I will try to get a club fitting, although the pro at my range did a great job on my prior fittings
great insight Pete, my first set of men's clubs Mizuno MS3 given to me by my club pro-Doug McClelland, Setup up by Barry Willet himself at St. Georges Hills the original Mizuno club-fitter great times, great clubs and used them for 25 years :-)
I was going to get a set of used Pings at Roger Dunn. Spent about three hours comparing 7-irons. But on the way out I saw a set of MP's. 7 iron. 161 yard. 3 yard draw. I was like. oh yea. I love my Mizuno's!!
So....with a gleaming smile you commence your gloating on youtube. Oooooh - lovely studio, Ooooh - great swing, Oooh - new clubs! Congrats mate - You da man!
I bought a set of Mizuno MP-32 and...wow! I’ve been playing for less than 2 years, and tried to stay away from blades for now, but I hit these ones straighter and more consistent than the Mavricks, which surprised me. I’m not advocating for blades, but in this specific instance...blades won hands down. I’m looking to get fitted for the newer irons new year
We'd like to apologise for Matt's stream of one liners. We're sorry. Really sorry.

As you geeked out on your experience, I also geeked out from my work desk. Love Mizuno.
Perfect timing as I'm looked to get fitted for a set of Mizuno irons. Surprised the HMB's didn't make an appearance. That kind of fitting would be a dream for most golfers.
Nice one Pete ,glad to see you playing with your choice clubs ,instead of sponsored .
Was fitted for a set of the HMB’s. Absolutely thrilled with them. So buttery and shiny!
MP-33 ….. work of art and super playability
Awww yeah. MP-33s have about 300k miles on them, but still going strong!
"A blade strapped with a turbo and packaged with a heart of forgiveness"... the best quote from the epic movie and love story "Peter's blades" ... and the oscar goes to ... 😂🍾😝
Great smile there are Pete. Like the cat that got the cream
Like a kid in a sweet shop. Nice one Pete.
I have 919 forged fell in love as soon as I saw them
So did I :)
I got the 919 Hot Metal Pro. They absolutely Awesome!
Congrats Peter. I look forward to what you hit like on course with these.
i just got a new set of of mizuno mp-20 mmc with modus 120g stiff shafts and i absolutely love them i’m so excited to start my high school season on monday with them
I hit some of these today and they’re lovely! But I must say I hit them alongside my mp-33s and there wasn’t enough there to make me change. I think they’ll be in my bag forever at this rate!!
You can't beat Mizuno irons. I had my first set back in the 1990's, T Zoid pro IIs, which are still in the loft. I am now playing a set of MP54s and love them.
that tour truck and mizunos branding is just top notch
I just recently started playing again and bought myself a set of new Callaway XR Pro irons which I'm totally blown away with. Always enjoy your content Peter, and keep up the great work. Cheers from Paul in Adelaide, South Australia.
Awesome to see you so happy Pete. Enjoy!
Sheer class and a fitting made with a sense of humour, I play Mizuno’s as I took up golf during the Faldo era, welcome to the club 👍🔥
Fabulous looking irons - good to see what you choose when you are free to do so
I have had my old MX-15s for about 16 years now and they are the last subject to change in my bag (Only Mizuno item as well). Well...., unless I get the chance to upgrade to new Mizunos like you Finchy. Good stuff, Pete 👍 the combo set is a thing of beauty!
Good to meet you at bearwood, enjoy the clubs 👍🏼
Nothing wrong with the MMC’s!! I was in your exact situation wanting the shiny, beautiful blades. But the MMC’s were the better option in consistency for me
This is amazing. Mizuno van is unreal.
Know what Peter? You swing has very nicely evolved compared to last year (beginning 2019)!
more fluid, more stable, more control
congrats for the work you've done!
Stoked for you Pete! I hope you enjoy them, better put those Tiger Irons in a case on your wall for safe keeping!
The magic kingdom! What a lovely sweetie shop!
I've always been a big callaway and titleist guy but man you can't argue with those irons
Sweet as Peter... Don't think you'll stop smiling for a while yet 😁😁😁👍👍
Peter you were like a child in a sweet shop, such excitement!!!!!!! Enjoy, just need the weather now, can you organise that please??????????
Just seen this pop up - I’ll watch later - I love Mizuno irons 😊
Brian Treadwell no watch now!!
I’ve watched now - I’m on my second set if Mizuno irons and I love them (MP20). For my next set I will try to get a club fitting, although the pro at my range did a great job on my prior fittings
Mp 54 with c taper 130 x since 2017...been very happy ever since and I couldn’t imagine playing anything but mizuno going forward ...👍🏻
great insight Pete, my first set of men's clubs Mizuno MS3 given to me by my club pro-Doug McClelland, Setup up by Barry Willet himself at St.
I’m looking to get fitted for the newer irons new year
I love Mizuno... but my Epon’s are just 👌👌👌 can’t wait to see what this new year brings Pete. Wishing you the best.
