@@gsp1995 it is a bit of a mind Fuck I thought red mage coming from black was tricky but it’s simple compared to learning samurai as samurai relays on you knowing all the right combos and shit.
This is, out of every other Samurai video I watched, the best one to learn from scratch about Samurai. I just started FFXIV a week ago. I hit Lv50 and immediately equipped Samurai, and was extremely overwhelmed by all the secondary energies (sen, kenki, meditation stacks) as well as the oriental names of the skills. After an hour and a half of reading through skills while cross-referencing this video, I know what every skill does, and have started planning my rotation without even having the skills yet, lol. Great video, thank you so much!
Aaaahh! I’m doing basically the same! I started playing around a week ago, missed a quest chain needed to unlock White Mage (started going down the healer path), and didn’t unlock it until 39. At lv 53 I went for Samurai to mix things up a bit. There’s a lot to keep up with.
I love this video format so much, goes so much to the point and is entertaining, and explains things slow enough and step by step for a total noob to get. No 30 minute guides that seem to be made for people that are already familiar with the game
Ty so much. Like many other noobs I'm sure once people hit level 50 for the first time, at least me, I went straight to snag Red Mage/Samurai/Dark Knight as they all looked incredibly appealing. It's kinda overwhelming to say the least, just thrown like 20 buttons with no prior use lol.
yep this is all I needed to help with any job, just a quick explanation of what moves are what and what to keep an eye on. I get social anxiety so have been having fun learning with my Trust, makes me push harder each time cause they are rubbish lol plus if I die the whole party auto wipes
Okay but like this video is kind of perfect?? I've been thinking about which melee I wanted to level first after getting all my casters and most of my healers/physical ranged to 90. And I think SAM might be it because of you, thank you!
The fact that you list all the moves that use the Kenki gauge was the exact thing I have been looking for. I understand the rotations of the Sam at this point and am trying to set my skills up for use on my controller. So knowing all of the abilities that I should have and be using is a struggle to figure out where they need to be on my cross hotbars. This is going to help me a ton. I am sure once I get the abilities set in a good spot I will be doing a much better job than I am now. One of the better videos I have seen. I am going to go see if you have one for Paladin now :)
Really nice and concise guide; I especially appreciate the tool tip visuals! The only minor grievance is that in つばめがえし, or "tsubame gaeshi," the "gae" is actually pronounced like the English word "guy" rather than "gay;" I keep seeing content creators make this mistake, aha.
If my memory doesn't fail me, I think Fuka also reduces your auto attack delay and casting time by 13% as well, though, it doesn't actually reduce the time needed to use Iaijutsu. Also, after the latest patch, Midare and Higanbana can be cast from 6 feet away, which is absolutely hilarious. They're like spells now lol
thankfully I already knew how to use samurai a year ago and just brushing up because I don't remember shit after a break, but this helped a lot thank you!
Thanks for the video! It's been a while since I played SAM. I think stopped because I was super tired when I unlocked Kyuten to really figure out when to use it and was like, "eh, I'll get back to that" and just...haven't lol. But the way you explain that and the other stuff makes sense. I'll have to give it a go again!
getting back into sam since 4.x was current....its been LV70 for almost half a decade 🙃 3:08 sleep well brave buff rest in deletion 💀 (as of 6.1 major patch this action as been removed entirely, the vid came out before that)
Hey thanks for the info. I just started playing not to long ago and i decided to go with dps since i dont wanna get my teammates kill by been a healer and i dont wanna mess up as a tank lol.
I finally got my Sam to lv 81 and got my action bar feeling right including a gapcloser and a backstep very mobile now I'm trying to find a dps food to buy in bulk been eye the Chicken fettuccini or the More (the skill speed buff would complement Sam well imo, smoother cooldowns a big selling point to me haha. 9 level till I max it then my Sam HAS to have resistance relic stage 4 that red glow is super epic to me haha
I've been completely ignoring the damn positionals all this time! 😭 After all this time, I sworn up and down there wasn't any, but I guess I didn't read the skills enough.
I love samurai because you can you katana most beloved weapon in video game. But damn MHW longsword even easier to memory combo than Ff14 but not giving up I will lear and practice
Lol I used to play ninja, I just installed ff again and I was thinking to try samurai. Looks harder than ninja or is just me? It feels like it has more combos
The samurai skills are doubly hard to understand as a non-Japanese speaker. Since they all sound like gibberish and there’s no easy way to differentiate them.
More people would play Samurai if it started at level 1 and slowly introduced abilities like beginner classes instead of dumping them all on you at once.
I just want a picture of someone’s hot keys so I can match a good setup it’s tough for me to watch this video and build a hot key setup myself, I might be dumb but that’s what I need! Please help
All I heard was ANIMUUUUUUUU, and for whatever reason I have always understood samurai. Makes me cry on the inside because it's the only class I can play fairly well. 😂 still gotta practice others
I understood nothing. Great video anyways.
Watch again and pay attention lol
If you have the move set in front of you or practice on a dummy while he talks it over you will get it more easily
Yeah, me neither. Super Idiots unite! 😤✊🏼

By far the most concise and easy to follow job videos around. Just started learning samurai today and this definitely helps.

TY for showing the animations. it's so hard to find people actually document what the moves look like.
I feel like even more of an idiot after watching this video
Not your fault, you did great
Samurai is just so extra
it doesnt help that a lot of names are very similar
@@HyuugaCharlie i was lost after the 4th name and I dont even remember the first three
ngl i for myself think, samurai is one of the most complicated jobs in FF14 xD i just dont have so much keybinds and my fingers arent long enough
@@MarkusDBurnerNinja, Monk and Black Mage mains would like to have a word with you 😂
Returning to the game and researching classes. Appreciate the quick and easy guides. Keep it up; they're massively helpful.
Easiest Samurai guide I've found and I've watched so many guides - this one was the easiest to follow thank you!!
Just started Samurai last night and I'm back at the guide :3 these really are great :D
Can't wait to see your take on Bard ^^
Unreal guide mate! So easy, exactly what i needed. You give the basics to allow people to find their own playstyle! tyvm!

easiest way is to go back and do dungeons of all levels starting low and moving up. Then you gradually get the moves
The comparisons to long sword in MH translate so well, great video
This was the most comprehensive and easy to digest video about this class since ever, thanks for breaking this down for me!
New to FFXIV and spamming all ur class videos - hilarious and super informative thanks so much for making this series :)
This video upped my dps by 400% thank you.

Im a sprout 🌱, I have never played SAM but I was told to miss Kaiten. So yeah, I miss Kaiten.
Also a sprout. I now also miss Kaiten.
Can someone please tell me who Kaiten is, so I can miss her too!

I realized that shortly after uploading... I have a bad reputation with pronouncing words wrong. But thanks for letting me know!
@@MegastarXIV looking forward to more guides!
Looking for my first DPS job. This video has made me come to the conclusion that it will NOT be Samurai. Thank you xD.
same 😶
Corrections:
- I pronunced Tsubame-gaeshi wrong.
- Third Eye only reduces damage taken for 1 move not throughout the duration.

Samurai's just have Sephiroth's sword now
Ty so much I stopped using Samurai at lvl 66 and just went back and was so lost lol til now, videos straight forward which is very helpful.
Best guide out there! You are a genius! Keep up the good work!
You're so smart, I definitely need to watch this again, hahaha! Great video and content.

As a samurai main this helped a bunch when I first started 👍

The pacing of this video is far to fast for noobie to follow.
Can’t wait for more!
Like Dragoon and Bard
FANTASTIC! Short full breakdown. Love it. Have you done every class like this?
So many weird words... LOVE IT!
I was literally spamming Gekko over and over since the icy veins leveling guide LIES! Thanks for this
So much easier to follow than other people showing moves on what looks like sheet music and beating a dummy with everything at once.
Great video! Gonna have to practice with my Samurai now.
Also, what glamour are you using? The Katana looks great.
Me, a level 1 who just bought all the expansions: Oh this looks neat, i wanna do this
Wait wait wait wait wait Samurai has positionals!! Bro am I blind I never saw where it said it had positionals how long have I been missing out on dps
thanks to this video I have an idea of how to map out my attacks in a way that's useful ^.^
For those wondering, yes, you do also get Zantetsuken...
It's your Limit Break. Enjoy~ .u.
Honestly, the names for all of these abilities just blend together and make this pretty hard to understand without having the game on in front of me.
The names really are the hardest part for me LMAO
Just picked up Samurai, and did alot of random button mashing lol. Saving this to get me started, already love the class.
most important thing is to just keep going through the combos and keeping your dots up, the rest comes later
great video, a small side note maybe just touch on how often you actually use shinten. but overall great organizing. good work
This is great! How likely are we to get a Gunbreaker video??
Quick, detailled and very useful for beginners. Like!

here's how to play samurai! fuku kika, shooka booka shisha ka boopa ka ka shi his foo fah. got it???
omg i'm glad i set it up right
I wait…… they are positionals!? I remember checking before endwalker and there being noooo mention o.O

Great video, but I might be doing something wrong.
I try using hissatsu: Kaiten before my iajutsu, but I immediately lose access to it instead.
It is like tinkywinky the teletubby had a baby with a tamaguchi
That was a very nice video. It still is. BUT THERE IS NO KAITEN ANYMORE TT (Heart-broken)
Which sword is being used in the video?
Was wondering why I don’t see “Hissatsu Kaiten”, turns out they removed it
This guide is all over the place 🤣😭
For those saying "I don't get Samurai" it's okay, we don't either, we just like flashy swing stab cut
Great video, well layed out. I know for definite now that samurai is trying to confuse me.
I love samurai because you can you katana most beloved weapon in video game. But damn MHW longsword even easier to memory combo than Ff14 but not giving up I will lear and practice

2 years later but what is the gear he is using?
I’m about to hit 70 on my Sam. 20 levels in 5 days I feel pretty accomplished on that.
