    In this First Ride video on the Chaseontwowheels channel, we take a spin on the 2023 Ducati Desert X for the first time. This adventure bike is powered by a 937cc Testastretta 11 engine that delivers 110 horsepower and 68 lbs/ft of torque. It features six riding modes including Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, and Rally. The Desert X also boasts a 5.54 US Gal fuel tank, and an optional rear fuel tank that holds an additional 2.1 gallons. With a wet weight of 492 lbs, this bike is perfect for off-road adventures. Let's see if all that off-road capabilities translate to a good road experience.

    My DesertX was delivered around 2 weeks ago, already have 700 miles on it. Going in for first service next week.
    Got the full race exhaust w/EVO tune, accessories mount w/Ducati branded Garmin GPS, bar bag, and touring windscreen.
    Pulled the rear foot pegs and mounting frames off. Weights only 478 lbs with a full tank.

    As an owner of a Monster 1100 EVO looking to add a new bike to the stable im torn in between the current Ducati Lineup. I love the look of the Desert X, I mean how often do we get an Italian rally-inspired bike? But I also am considering a multistrada for those long rides up the California coast with the misses. And on the last end of the spectrum I am considering the Streetfigther V4S as I could finally upgrade my sports bike and start seeing track days again. Decisions decisions.
    Too bad I don’t have $80k for all 3 😂

      I'm eyeing a MSV2S to go with my S1KRR. It's basically a big super moto with factory hard bags and most of the tech of the V4 without the radar cruise control. I think it's the best use case for the 937cc L twin ducati puts in a bunch of bikes.

    heated grips should be standard on a bike this expensive. Seat maybe? After the excitement wore off, they should have given us a bigger easier to read screen...I' mean your mounted phone looks bigger.

    I don't get why he keeps saying it's a 500lb motorcycle...many in this power category are. For perspective, this Ducati weighs less than the Sportster S. About 15 lbs of its weight difference to most bikes is down to the extra fuel it carries. Put in the same amount of fuel as a Z900rs and the Ducati actually weighs a tiny bit less. Actually pretty impressive considering all the extra accessories loaded on...

    14:45 correction on the engine type, the Ducati Desert X is not a Parallel-Twin engine configuration. It is a V-Twin Testastretta engine.

    Sexy bike but don't regret my GS after this review. Small screen, no heated anything, non-adjustable windscreen, no choosing between different suspension ride heights on the fly, expensive servicing for sure, great review tho.

  • @toltod
    @toltod ปีที่แล้ว

    Or at least move the screen to the right so you can mount a phone/GPS right next to it. Or had movable rail bracket so you could arrange a second device next to it. Some Australian rider fabricated their own dash setup which was awesome.

  • @mrdygga6
    @mrdygga6 ปีที่แล้ว

    OC...The bike style is a good nod to Dakar style offroading. That said, why would you want to find neutral at low speeds? You also (rightly) question throttling in certain modes- given the choice of modes, one would be a poor rider to elect to ride in a mode that isn't smooth or encourage getting on. When it comes to purchasing, one has to consider the initial outlay as your 'one and only' but factor in the servicing before deciding to pass. There are better and cheaper options out there....RSMF

    • @chorseundgrd
      @chorseundgrd ปีที่แล้ว

      It's true that there are better and cheaper options but that's not Ducati's target market. The head of Ducati came out last year and said they see Ducati as a premium brand. They're selling a record amount of bikes year over year, they don't really see themselves as competing with anyone. They way they look at it, you either want a Ducati or not.
