There are lowering kits and seats available - seat drop is 10mm and suspension spring kit drops another 20mm. There is also a rally seat available with is a single unit for more off road riding

Thanks Mr Ian! Great to be back 😁 You've given us a lot of homework and things to think about but take nothing away from this bike, it's simply awesome! Thanks again for the opportunity to check out the Desert X 🤘- Josh

First time I have heard the comment of the bike being nervous on dirt. Many agree it's far more stable and relaxing after a day ride than the KTM 890 R for example

Again, a comparison we're unable to make directly.

Interesting review - I always appreciate the non bias opinion. However a few comments: 1. Side stand - there was a world wide recall to reduce the stand length - many complained of the bike falling over - the demo unit tested has the shorter stand which leans the bike over be a mere 3 deg.

Thanks Ian, always great to have you pop in and say hi on our videos! So to get around to a few of the points you mentioned, starting with the side stand. Glad to hear Ducati is taking note of customer complaints and implementing fixes 👍

The start button is common Ducati - Key in - turn - leave the kill switch up = easy start :)

      As we're discovering 😂

You did not mention all the standard off road upgrades compared with a Multistrada or GS for example. DSX has engine and frame covers as well an off road adjustable rear brake pedal

Actually, in hindsight that would have been a cool addition. Perhaps 1 day we'll get around to testing the Transalp...

A proper set of riding boots would evenly be a good investment...

I don''t agree that this bike is heavy - when compering like for like engine capacity - only the 660 and 700 is lighter

A very subjective topic. Ultimately, it comes down to the individual rider and their riding background. What is super light to some might be a handful to others.

Also, when you factor in the weight from the extra fuel over the T7, it's actually closer. For how much more substantial the DesertX feels in power and fit and finish, it's actually pretty impressive. Decat and a few other tweaks and you can have a near T7 pretty easily...

Engine heat - far less than KTM 890 - i have heard from customers that have sold their KTM's :)

We try our best to stay objective with the bike we have on test so we'll have to take your word for it 😉

Yeah... We knew it would divide opinions. For some of us it took some getting used to as well.
