This road trip around a big portion of Newfoundland covered just under 5,000kms but I still feel like I barely scratched the surface. I started in Mount Pearl, and travelled as far as Harbour Breton with many, many, MANY stops in between over 5 days in mid-March 2024.
Itt was absolutely amazing, and I hope you enjoy the video.

This is the longest video I ever made. If you enjoyed it and feel like watching another one like this, here is the only other one on my channel that hit the 1-hour run-time mark: th-cam.com/video/34Ma-ECVDUU/w-d-xo.html

On your recommendation, I just watched that entire video again. Yup, enjoyed it just as much as I did six months ago! (Besides, what else did I have to do on another rain, drizzle and fog Saturday night in St. John's?) One of the things I really like about your videos is that you insert corrections during the edit if you've flubbed the name of a person or place in your original recording. I think it's cool that you quietly acknowledge that, "Oops, I didn't quite get that right," but, that's okay, here's the correct name or place. And you're right, of course! We're all fallible, and an error certainly doesn't diminish the worth of the whole video! Great job!

How fortunate are we to live among so much beauty! Thanks for another wonderful video, Mark. And congratulations, again, on the birth of the new baby! So precious!

Hey Mark! Congrats to you and your wife on the new baby!!
Love your content. The wife and I found your channel as we were crossing Canada for the last time to settle home on the island. It's been a long run leading up to this.
Anyway, we've spent some time in Salmon Cove (Near Carbonear/Salmon Cove Sands/Northern Bay Sands) a few years ago. We find the scenery and beaches here to be on a whole new level; so much so that we are now raising our kids here. It's incredibly beautiful in the summer, and figure I'd drop a comment a let you know you might find some content for your channel out this way ;)
We'd love to see it and share the beauty of this place (Also, I suggest you try Hogan's Fish and Chips, if you do drop out... It's no Keith's but it's damn close)
Cheers. Keep up the inspiring work!

      Thank you 😊
I will be going to Salmon Cove with the family (and my cameras) very soon. It was always a place that I knew about but kinda took for granted. There are so many beautiful spots in that area and I just never stopped in there. You’re not the first person to recently rave about it (and not the first person to mention Hogans either!) so it’s on my list now.

Is there a special immigration program for the province of Newfoundland? If so, what is the name of the site where I must register remotely so that I can communicate with officials? Personally, I heard about an immigration program. Specific to the province of Quebec, but I was not excited because that province is French-speaking. Although I am from North Africa, I am not a fan of French, and I also find Newfoundland interesting and cheap compared to other provinces. So yes.

Still no suggestions from people who know Twillingate for places to eat in off season. I was there in May 2023 and there were many places open, but I would love to go between Dec. and April.

I'm heading back up there in a couple of weeks so I'll ask around to see what anyone from the local businesses... that I HOPE will still be open... say about where to go in the slow season. I'll try to remember to come back here if I find anything out 👍

Where will you be? Will you get the chance to see many different parts of Newfoundland? Here’s a playlist of videos that is meant to cover as many regions of the province as I’ve been able to explore myself. Hope it helps!

@@mark_royle_newfoundland thanks Mark, I'll check out the videos. I've rented a car with Centsible, so will be cover lots of ground. I figured we could research the touristy stuff, but wanted to see how the locals find out about places to go and things to do.

My mom was born in Belleoram in 1918. I’ve always wanted to go, but I don’t know where to stay or to eat, if you have any suggestions within an hour or two I’d love to know.

I stayed in Harbour Breton when I was there in the spring. That’s a good home base for the area as it’s a bigger town (still very small but you’ll have everything you’ll need there). It was around an hour away from Belleoram by car, and I really enjoyed the drive.
Depending on when you go you might be able to find an air bnb in Belleoram but in mid-March this year, Harbour Breton was as close as I could get.
