Never played an assault mech until, out of intrigue, I got a Marauder IIc. Never regretted it. It's a combination sniper/tank that can both hang back or join the charge and brawl.
Best part about this: I started playing the game and watching your vids 2 weeks before Piranha gave us a free MadCat MkII B for a event item. Bam, awesome assault build at the ready.
Love these videos now I am playing MWO. Your advice has flattened the learning curve for me and made it fun. Playing against humans is lot harder than MW5 AI (most of the time) lol. Just bought the HBR-VI with bulk lasers. My first main mech was the UM-R63 which is so much fun once I added 2x Large lasers and 3x HMG for close up action. Have taken down a lot of assault mechs in the Urbie. Will be picking up the Blood Asp once I am ready to play in an Assault mech. Thanks TTB
The only mech i have buyed is the Blood Asp Prime, because it has the speed of a heavy or medium mech, it has 2 slots for heavy balistic long range weapons (double gauss), it can peak over obstacles and with lasers on the arms also can peak around the corner barely exposing the cockpit only to see where i shoot, and unafortunately it does not have EMC but has anti missile laser defence system, basically everything i need for my play style, and i only get killed if 2 or more mechs are shooting at me simultaneously and from different directions, and i am used to have minimum 25 armor on the back and the rest all in the front, maxed armor
I'd also list the Annihilator Mean Baby as a beginner-friendly assault mech, even though it costs money. The missile based builds you can do with it are fun to play.
These guides are great, was looking for a heavy mech some time ago and you insight on them really helped me, man that hellbringer amazing, I have consistem 2-3 kills in most matches with him and I've only scratched the skill tree yet
Merry Christmas as well. Thanks for this helpful video - the best I've ever seen on that topic anywhere - from an assault-noob. I've always wanted more than "buy this mech and buy this mech". I knew something about good mechs and loadouts before, but not specifically how to play them properly. And here it is, with explanations, details, tips and tricks. Awesome (not the mech). :) tha
28:00 Corsair A7 is my favourite mech by faaaar. I run 3xRAC2 and 4xMed Lasers. 3ams and a laser ams. It's the only mech in the game I managed to get over 800dmg in, and it happens quite regularly. It's soooo tough!
Been playing for five years. Been watching your videos for about three years. This was helpful even though I've been playing for a while. Interested in doing a faction play drop deck video? (My son's getting into the game. It would be nice for him to get advice from someone other than me!)
these vids are great but my one issue is as a free to play player some the mechs i probably will never get so would be nice to not see pay for mechs under beginner lists since pay for stuff usually automatically better usually
Thanks TTB for your guides ! I wish someday MWO will integrate supply units (repairing damaged Mechs: with 3D advanced printers) such structure ER laser, Armor quantic-printer, Amno supply, Energy Shield and C-Ballistic Bullwark, heat dispeller, and more furtive unit with Gas and acids fogs, EM disrupters ( ; )) , oh ! and the.... ... tons of ideas about this incredible game* and its unique community ! * : (played the first Battletech in 1987).
Wow incredible video men. I am new to your channel and I’m in love with it, your guides and the way that you enjoy the game, I just love it men. Thanks and greetings from a Colombian fan.
I just picked up the BAS-B and the stock body parts don't allow for anything close to this build. You don't mention any swapping of omni-pieces and, after checking, I can't even mount three C-Ultra AC/5 cannons on the Right torso because it only has 6 hardpoints and the C-Ultra AC/5 cannons take 3 hardpoints each. I'd need 9 hardpoints to do just the right torso.
I played the original Mech Warrior on my desktop and used a Joy stick,..( not keyboard ) and got very proficient with it. Keyboard is not my thing. WHY can't this online game be used with a JOPYSTICK ???
@@TTBprime thanks a lot mate,i just made a simulation of how it would look, but even with all armor points in survival skill the shoulders have less than what you show in the vid and the mech is 0,8 tons lighter.Oh and btw having such a weak armor in back doesent make you vulnerable to light mechs?
The annihilator build sux. IVe played it Dozens of times and you just get murdered. Its slow and it has NO armor. You cant face enemies with the rotaries because your parts get blown off immediately and annihilators are like Atlas's you just get targeted by the entire team. Its not worth it. Yea its fun SOMEtimes but most times you just get slagged instantly.
It's not the build, it's most likely you. The Annihilator is one of the best-armored mechs on the battlefield and this mech has enough damage per second to shred targets provided you don't position in a stupid way and get lit up by all the enemies. Work on positioning, don't expose to a lot of targets at once, and make use of that 500m optimal range.
@@TTBprime I try but its SOOO slow. Ive been playing since launch. I just came back after a few years off and all of the other builds here work great. This just doesnt work I get targeted constantly. @@picallo1 I get it. Assaults are hard to play, especially in the current rotato potato meta. Overstep and you're dead, hesitate too much and you will get caught from behind. It can be very challenging.

The fastest, best sniper without ammolack is the Awesome with 1 er ppc, two ppc, no missiles but sinks wherever they fit in.
Built that Corsair. Loving it.

Iron dome 🤣👌 love it !
Can you do one day a guide for best controllers or buttons setup? I always get messy with more than 2 groups of weapons
A mouse with side buttons helps alot. I can have all 6 weapon groups on my mouse.
Almost all mechs keep their ammo in legs - that's why twisting off doesn't help against an experienced enemy.

Unfortunately MWO is in life support / maintenance mode. No future updates expected at this time.
Hyper carry mode FTW.
The cyclops is already pretty much the tankiest mech, plus the geometry.

That's not how hardpoints work. Each gun takes 1 hardpoint

why so much weapon jams ?
These mechs that are supposedly for new players cost 17 mil a peice. By the time you earn 17 mil, you won't be new, anymore.
I mean new players shouldn't be playing assaults anyways. I feel like this guide is meant for players new to the assault role

Ok this blood asp kinda sucks. Sure it can peek. But this thing has no assault capability and is an easy kill for lights.
Am I the only one who finds this game unplayable?
Yep
If you find this game unplayable then that’s on you not the game itself.
