    A tip for people starting cold showers;
First expose your legs and arms to the cold water, inhale than exhale and immediately step into the cold shower and control your breathing and you’re good to go!

Don't let this stop you I promise you if you keep your focus up you can control this it's more or so about pushing yourself hell even through life. I go everyday one time I was scared for my health it was snowing outside I watched some goggins and the shit he pushed through and it flicked a switch. I have now gone to the river for over a month and a half I'm more or so sad it's gonna get warmer and wish I started sooner because I wanna keep going. Think of the "what if" what if I push through this what if I can control my breathing and heart rate FOCUS meditate fix your mind and I promise life will get better.

if anyone knows any reason/s why this is actually harmful or not helpful etc then please enlighten me - i’m not a scientist or anything close; but my process is in the morning i get into the shower on the coldest setting, control my breath with the wim hof method, stand under it for 30 seconds then turn the water onto warm, appreciate the warm water 1000x more, wash myself like normal with the warm water, then turn it back onto the coldest setting and the second time i don’t even feel it, and i can stay under it for as long as i want. end on cold and then get out. try it out it’s truly amazing. ❤️🙏

I took my first cold shower in years last night and was definitely experiencing some shock. My breathing became erratic and I could feel my heart wigging out. I powered through it and managed to go about ten more minutes in which I lowered the temp more and more every couple minutes. The first 30 seconds was longer than the last 8 minutes even though by the very end the water was so cold that the water at the beginning would have felt warm. Maybe I pushed it too hard too soon. I like the Wim Hof method of doing. 3 rounds of 50 breaths beforehand. Causing my body to heat up and vibrate very intensely. Then I am able to stop shivering , after about 2 minutes of the cold water exposure , sometimes less . You have to expose head to toe to get used to the cold water. And doing the breathing exercises

    • @Numantino312

      agreed about head exposure:
most people in the pictures have their heads out of the water with dry hair. while keeping cold water from shower out of my ears, still directing cold water to my head at least at the beginning.
i do this for both health, and emergency prepping.
in late winter/early spring (north dakota), roads are at their slickest, and roadside ditches fill with cold snowmelt several feet deep. so i do this to give self a chance if car ends up sliding off road.

@@ObaidahNaseer I don't understand your point, it's recommended according to hadith to do wudu with warm water, I don't understand where you and the speaforth guy came up with cold water being sunnah, where do you think they would get cold water from the desert mate

@@TheIraqiforce That my other account, I didn't realise.
I'm only taking about the sunnah of doing wudhu before ghusl:
      Narrated `Aisha:
"Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) took a bath after Janaba (major impurity) he started by washing his hands and then performed ablution like that for the prayer. After that he would put his fingers in water and move the roots of his hair with them, and then pour three handfuls of water over his head and then pour water all over his body."
      [Narrated by Sahih al-Bukhari 248.]
In the desert, it can actually get cold such as at night or during cooler months. Because deserts rarely have clouds and are very dry, heat is not really retained.

I absolutely enjoy colder showers. I would have to feel extremely cold in the winter for me to turn the shower on hot enough to where you see steam - this happens maybe twice a year.
With that said I would never do what was explained here, lol. I would be too cold 😅

Once I learned that guided box breathing makes coke water easier, there was no turning back. And when it’s the time of year when the cold makes me want to get out, imagining the pain from the Feb cold water is actually heat, and Imaging myself in a hot place, it calms my mind down. Same thing with ice baths. It’s all about controlling your breath and that’s how I do it. Progressive box breathing. 5 min on 3 by 3, then 4 by 4 and then 5 by 5. There are many breathing techniques that can be ituilized and after : years of cikd water, box breathing has worked the best for me

If you are less adaptable first step in the normal temperature and then slightly start to increase coldness every 20 seconds and keep breathing deep. It that way your body will adapt easier to cold water. For some people it can be dangerous to just jump in the ice cold water

For me grate start is to take a normal shover with water that is cold but not ice cold. Then when I am done with shampoo i start lovering the temperature until i get to the limit. So this metod is all about improving your starting temperature. My own experience shows that it is grate for beginners. It is probably got for people with hearth problems, but i am not the one with that kind of knowledge since i don't have that kind of problems and i ain't a doctor.

Since learning about the health benefits, I've started taking cold showers. It used to be difficult for me to breathe when I entered the water because of how chilly it was. I'm still curious as to why that was or is. When I take showers, the water isn't too cold (usually around 60-55°). I've gotten used to it to the point where I can almost comfortably take colder showers. i still won’t go ice cold because then i’ll most likely go back into that shock state where it’s hard to breathe.
