6:17 Love the alchemist. Excited to see it PC2 in action. The champion can bring a lay on hands. But I'd like to see a battle medicine specialist, treat Wounds specialist. That's the rogue medic or the medic investigator. But I wouldn't replace your Sorc with that... So. Where to fit the medic... Alchemist can do some of it. And medic dedication gives access to Doctors visitation. Swashbuckler is so mobile, it might be a neat class the grab medics and Dr's visitation.
Aye, he forgot to mention that, didn't he? I suspect that barbarian is now more powerful than the fighter, though I haven't done the data gathering & math.
Can attest to the Racal Swashbuckler being good. Just had a blast last week playing a Ratfolk Rascal pantsing baddies before smacking the crap out of them.
2:46 Don't AT me.... When I look at your Swashbuckler... I see an awesome rogue. Hahaha. I know. But she's ready to Bluff and Intimidate with that light armour and flashy Cape... But it has stealthy dark layers outside to Cloak in shadows and stealth out... And I'm seeing rapier, daggers.... Finesse type weapons. And one could still lean into a Ruffian. IF STR is preferred, or weapon selection.
For ancestries: Sorcerer human, because of natural ambition and level 1 reach or widen spell, champion and swashbuckler elf, because of the speed bonus, and to ensure that champion will not slow down they should go to live with dwarfs to learn their ways with armors (so that they can take adopt ancestry [dwarf] at level 3 and then learn unburdened iron at level 5, so that their full plate does not slow them and they get deduct 5 from all the other effects that would give them movement penalties, like removing -5 feet penalty from tower shield or halving -10 penalty from fortress shield). For Babarian , human (natural ambition -> two barbarian feats at level 1 without needed to pick fury barbarian), orc (orc ferocity -> continuing fight after going to 0 hp is just perfect fit for the barbarian) and minotaur (large -> being large makes barbarian even better front line smasher) are all good options. For alchemist, either human (natural ambition -> soothing vials and alchemist familiar at level 1) or halfling (Distracting Shadows - hide behind team mates and halfling luck free reroll every day for skill checks and saving throws is always good option)
Alternatively, I think there is a tanky resilient Dwarf line that could benefit a Barbarian greatly. And obviously can lean deeply into the Hammer and Axes
One thing that I would definitely add would be someone with a Tower Shield, using Raise Shield consistently. Perhaps the champion Perhaps the barbarian. The benefits of the tower shield, just raised, Alone grant the rest of the party improved COVER AC (+2 circumstance) Free, if the that ally gains cover from that tower shield. Automatic and free upgrade. But if the ally spends an action to take cover, behind the Tower Shield ally... They gain a +4 cover. That's a pretty major boost in a game where people are hunting for a +1 that matters...
@@RebelThenKing I might be a bit of a broken record, on the tower Shield front. And I realize it's a burden in its own right. But a speed boost to compensate. There is even a nice cheap long duration speed boost spell. If the feat or ancestry are out of reach. Our party didn't have a tower Shield for several levels, and recently they upgraded... And its made a remarkable difference. Quite a bit more challenging as the DM to ignore or bypass that tower Shield.
What Ancestry would I add. I think your barbarian would do well with the Hold Scarred Ork. The option to just ignore one time that they would get dropped to Dying. Add in the increased Dying level 5, and the improved stability recovery checks (lower DC) Ork and Barbarian also both have good or great HP right? Add in. Is it Toughness? And it just might be a fairly resilient start for the Barb. Hood Scarred Ork also seems like a great starting narrative for the Spirit Barb... As they clearly have some ancient trauma to channel. Haha.
I think that orc is my default barbarian ancestry. It's just such a great fit, and I agree that Hold Scarred Orc and Spirit Barbarian are PERFECT together thematically.
@@RebelThenKing we made a trio of Hold Scarred Orks... And a pair of Rogue Ruffians, For low level one shot on a week we were short handed. Those Rogues salvaged the Ogre warband in their path. It was kinda embarrassing for the clumsy Ogres, and the striking picks, with sneak attacks, vs flat footed Ogres, With Crit Spec Picks from 1st level... And I think the Ogres had dismal AC? So, Crits aplenty... Ooof

Not losing AC on rage is huge too!

@@SigurdBraathen That would be a wild statement a few months ago, and +2 to hit is nothing to scoff at, but it's way closer now if not true.
