These meditations help me everyday and I'm so glad they are here to help me through this journey. I never thought I would follow an ancient philosophy and that it would improve my life in so many ways. Thank you!

Excellent meditation - I like that you stop talking and give a chance for reflection. So many guided meditations don't do this well. Thanks for sharing.

Just new person to learn Stoicism. Men i never know that would change how i see the world, understand in being a human, try the best to be best version of myself, rationality and able to control my mind. I suffer from my external before i learn it. One of the best thing ever happened to me. I wish if Stoicism teach in school and i know it more early. Btw thanks for video. For people who maybe have such problems like overthinking and anxiety i suggest you all for learn it. Thanks to Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, zeno and Epictetus

Great lesson. I’ve been a long time practiced of mindfulness meditation, but recently I have been leaning hard on a Stoic mindset because of the insanity of US politics right now. I could either let it upset me, or realize it’s all out of my control and operate within the bounds I have, while still helping where I can.

I listen to this on repeat. Coupled with awareness of my breathing, the principles really sink in.
    Helps to quell my anxiety.
    Many thanks.❤

Thank you for the meditations videos, helps a lot to stop the insecurities.
The Epictetu's quote reminded me of the beging of Ralph Waldo Emerson's Self-Reliance: Ne te quaesiveris extra (Do not seek outside yourself).

I don't have to carry the burden of the whole world on my shoulders. I can't change other people and I don't have to. It's an impossible task. All I need is piece of mind and be content with the way I do things. That's enough.

Really sad to see you only have two videos, hope youre able to make more. Eventhough i dont 100% agree with this teaching, its a very good practise to train being introspective.
    Keep up the good work!

Problem i have meditating on this is I consider every main desire can be obtain partially by your actions in life (love, money , health) . Detaching from things out of your control is hard, since you can always influence your life to a certain degree if you act towards your desires. Otherwise we would just be born with a destiny and anything we did or said would not matter or influence the final outcome.

Deataching is hard indeed, but it's still very helpful. I really thought I couldn't for tears I've been trying and now I'm finally starting to do it. People think is just something you do one day, but it takes years of constant reminders and meditation and introspection on what's important. If you are patient enough to work your way around deataching, life will be so much more easy, and many of the worries you have now will go away. So I highly recommend

There is a subtle difference that will impact you immensely. Rather than assuming this teaching is instructing us to let go of the reigns completely, instead consider taking all the actions you can but letting go of the results. In this way, youre still affecting your life where possible, but not suffering over the components out of your control.

Just saying be detached from something is near meaningless. Like saying "don't be depressed", yeah, I'd love to just not be all sorts is things

    • @stoaphilosophy

Yes, most cannot be detached in an instant without significant training and experience.

Important question. Sometimes you should care about getting what you want. We talk a more about the dichotomy of control here th-cam.com/video/UEx-VkYWONs/w-d-xo.html
