I hate to break it to you mr. YeET but Armor piercing 556 and 7.62 penetrated surface-level armor while two different types of 50 cal ammo penetrated straight through like Swiss cheese definitely going to penetrate a lung or kidney while sitting in there not counting as it ricocheted off the walls and hits other people in there...
But no doubt the thing is a beast and I love these MRAPs... they are tits 👍🏼

The city I retired from got one of the MaxxPro MRAP deals as an armored car, the variant with the hydraulic rear hatch. IIRC weight was over 32,000, and it has air brakes. Here over 26000 and not an RV means CDL. Also I believe you have to have the base CDL to apply for air brake endorsement. States may exempt first responders from CDL requirements. The doors can be moved (slowly) when there is no air. If it bleeds down often, you can pull the pin on the end of the air cylinder - but if you park on a side hill…
Those things roll over so easy it’ll blow your mind.
If the police can have MRAPs, so should civilians.
Same with machine guns, the most common type of arm for offence and defense

I'll be honest I wish I had photos of the MaxxPro I rode in while I was in Iraq, never know if that was the one! It was super sketch to be in the turret cause you're like 2 feet up off of the floor and have a sliding sheet of armor plating that could cut you in half! Wish I could get my hands on one. Hope this one turned out good and has saved some SWAT dudes!
I really wish it was easy to get these US armored vehicles. I really would like to have an armored humvee in the future, maybe one day I'll decide to try and source parts and get another humvee

@@Legacygarage1 Yea, I've seen them but for insane prices. I know two different guys that fabricate all the armor parts. Maybe some point in the future I may go that route once I finish some stuff

I am pretty sure you are wrong in your statement that "its illegal." Now if you said there are no MRAP available for sale because the government never sold any...that might be true. However, if you can buy/own a tank you most certainly can buy/own an MRAP. In fact there's a surplus military vehicle place a mile from my house and I have seen some vehicles for sale there that look like armored personnel carriers...which is basically a predecessor to the MRAP.

Unless there's a state law that says otherwise, it's legal to own an MRAP. They are just stupid expensive and they obviously don't come with any guns in them. Idk if you can buy an old military one, but you can definitely buy a new one.
EDIT: apparently you CAN buy milsurp MRAPs, they are just, again, really expensive. Also street legality is going to be really rough to get and if you do get it street legal, you'll probably need a CDL to drive it.
You can own the truck itself (international) but demil on the MRAP is full destruction because of the amount of armor on it. If the government removes the armor, it leaves you with nothing. And, you don’t need a CDL to drive it (similar to 5 ton and 7 ton) but I believe you have to be certified through military or law enforcement to drive it. These trucks new we’re sold to government for around $950,000 a piece.

But again, these things are absolutely ridiculously expensive unless you get a much older model or different truck. I've seen older MRAPs for like 200k but that's still a lot of money.
Exactly lol zero laws on armor but you can’t buy it as is from government. However, you can buy a similar truck and have someone fabricate armor on it. It would just be stupid expensive
@@DeckDogs4Life most you’ve seen are trainers and not a true mrap. Demil code for any thing armored is code D, they have to be destroyed and not restorable. 9/10 times destruction has to be witnessed by a DOD employee.
@@Legacygarage1 they have the hardened AR plate for sale on a lot of the government auction sites that sell the trucks. It's actually pretty cheap for steel, and it's the same stuff they put on everything including the tanks. Last I saw was a 10' wide 20' long piece 1/2" for like 800 bucks.

just a little FYI. It is not illegal to own an Armored Vehicle, Even MRAP. Maybe in Atlanta, but not in most places anyway.
Correct. Simply stating you won’t find a fully armored vehicle through DOD surplus. There are ways of acquiring bolt on armor for assembly later but it’s not easy or cheap by any means.
@@defiantmotorsports4926 You can indeed buy them armored. They have to be "demilitarized" which means removal of restricted weapons, SOME armor and comms. In some rare circumstances they use special armor plating, typically bolt on additions that they must remove.

@@hummerguy The infamous munitions list, even Humvees were on it for years. It's why so much British armour is used in hollywood; US "demil" requirements basically means scrapped.

Not sure why some people are against the police having these when the government was handing them out for cheap. All it does is give the swat members inside or police is overmatch against any threats. The platform itself is not packing any remote weapons. It is basically a ride with ridiculous armor. Only a criminal would be angry.

There is only one problem with this model. The fact that it's an International. I wouldn't want a semi truck from International bcuz they are pieces of shit. I can only imagine that these MRAPs from them are also pieces of shit, too! The dash in this thing annoys me, but that's only bcuz I hate International! As to why the military even awarded International with the contract to build this thing is completely beyond my level of thinking, lol! Why not Kenworth or Peterbilt, if they were gonna use a typical truck manufacturer from the civilian world? At least those guys make better trucks! Mattafact, why not just stick to OshKosh? My worst experiences in a semi truck were in Internationals! I can't make this up, lol!
