Tony is one of the best in the business. Wish more techs were as honest and as knowledgeable as he is. Ive learned a lot abou gpu repairs just from watching his videos.
Tony repaired my Gigabyte Vision OC 3090. There is a video on his page but its from earlier in the year. There was a blown mosfet and some fuses. Been about 10 months or more now and the card is still functioning great even with a mild overclock. He's definitely good at what he does and I can definitely recommend him.
Watching and learning from Tony can make the difference between a relatively inexpensive repair or having to buy a new GPU. A very entertaining and informative channel.
Good to see the love. One thing though, there are several comments along lines of "he's a bit wacky but ". The 'bit wacky' is the unique character that leads to the repair love. The wacky is the best, who wants to be normal in a world like this? Anyway, onwards and upwards with the love and appreciation.
Seems honest and affordable. Also seems like he exhausts his options when trying to fix something. Fully checks every rabbit hole he finds. Those are admirable qualities in ANY repair person. Too few like him.
@nathenate7974 yes, he had decided there was no issue and contacted me and I agreed to have him send it back and he told me to hold off and that he was going to check a couple things he thought of and asked me more questions trying to figure out if it was a hidden issue.
@DouglasThompson Top notch GPU repairman. Interesting to watch and get his opinion on different cards and brands build quality too. For someone that specialized in something to run a business, that's not trying to gut people financially, is rewarding in itself. He deserves our support.
Lol well played, man. The title had me wondering (a little) WTF, but the vid cleared it up. I just got my Powercolor rx 6900 xt ultimate back in action after being a paperweight for a couple years and I've got nothing but good things to say about the subject of your review here. This dude is really about it.
@mberring1 Yes indeed, the repairman in question hated the title too, but I think the possibility of him not being honest intrigues people. I figured it was the best way to get him more exposure because people typically gravitate toward drama first.
I'm into the microsoldering business so i had a lot of interest in Tony's repair video's because of that. And there's no one more knowledgably about the subject than Tony AFAIK.

Canadians - well it was a hundred dollars for the repair it was a hundred dollars in taxes and it was a hundred dollars in shipping, and then someone kicked me and robbed me for 100$ , Oh Canada 🍁🍁😂😂😂😂
Northwest is a nice man but nobody will risk their reputation over lying about a couple hundred bucks... That's basically his entire revenue + youtube, if someone sent a perfectly fine card and received a quote of 500$ they would just make a video about it "NorthWest Is not who you think he is!" and he's sold his entire image over 300$ nobody will do that, unless they're really really stupid.
@depralexcrimson that's a good point but I have still had auto mechanics and plumbers and electricians etc. Tell me I need something repaired or replaced when I know damn well that's not the case. I once replaced all my brakes, the rotors, pads, etc. And I went in for some other work and I was told "unfortunately, it looks like you brakes are worn down to the point of them being dangerous"...lol
@@DouglasThompson lol thats really funny it's what happened to me at the dentist last 2 times i went there LMAO I was in Italy and went to a family trusted doctor for holidays, they said nothing was wrong with my teeth, did X-RAY everything seems fine, I come back to the UK and I have a forced scheduled meeting 1 week later, they tell me I have 2 caries??? I'm in disbelief, they show me soem x-ray where basically there was prob some leftover from the breakfast in my mouth, trying to scare me that these are black spots so meaning it's 100% caries or rotting. I was in disbelief, so I take a quote and don't go back. Then these thieves, the nerve on them, I have 2 scheduled appointments at once in the same day 7 months later, 1 for just regular cleaning, and 1 for inspection, again, I get my teeth cleaned and forget about the second one and go home, they ring me, second day I come back and the guy forgot that I got them cleaned yesterday the dude is like "Everything looks fine but you should floss more, and maybe schedule an appointment to have your teeth cleaned". I WAS IN DISBELIEF, I told the doc "I got them done yesterday, maybe they did a poor job?" and mind you I didn't even eat anything outside two SALADS lmaooooooo. But these people have nothing to lose they will still get hundreds of thousands of clients a year, unlike northwest he has a very niche market.
I wouldn't have any issue sending something to Tony if I was Stateside - the lengths he goes to to fix shit is way beyond most (looking at you Northridge Fix). I mean shit - there's probably a video of the repair on his channel so you can probably watch him diagnose it. Just sounds you were unlucky to get a card that wasn't a straight forward resolution.
@stevejones4618 i still don't know why my card wouldn't turn any monitors on...until after he sent it back. Lol maybe him just touching it with his golden fingers.
Yah, let's say you got lucky on this one, and i can see you've got only one PC at your place, you could've tested the 3080 on another PC to make sure before sending it out for repair, nice to hear everything went out smoothly for you
I feel foolishness though...I have no idea why I couldn't get this gpu to work after the initial power down I experienced. Nothing worked. My monitors never received a signal, I tried every dp output and even the hdmi, couldn't get an image to display. Once it came back though everything worked...it's a mystery to me.

I hope you used DDU when u swapped cards. It will remove all traces of the Nvidia drivers. The 7900xtx is a very good card if configured properly. The 7900xtx will destroy the 3090.
Correct, I did so. :) the 7900xtx is a great card in most instances. Just some little quirks here and there that need ironing out. But I like it. Unless I set my eyes on a 5090 or something crazy, this card is going to be hard to beat for the money.
