@@therealkakitron What are you talking about? Ill Nino now has 4 original members in the group (Dave, Laz, Danny, and Marc). That's not exactly a "cover band"...
Besides Marshall Harrison Marc Rizzo is the most underrated guitar player out there who earned their stripes. Well overdue. Tremendous interview. Huge fan. 🤟🏾
Marc comes off as a genuinely cool/good dude. I watched a soulfly live gig and this dude is non stop movement. Even throws a round house kick while he’s jamming. I’ve never seen anyone do that. He’s really into what he’s doing and it translates musically and emotionally. I appreciate his work ethic. Keep up the great work Marc 🤘
Rizzo is a legendary guitarist, His influence throughout nu metal be it him bringing in classical/flamenco guitar into the style along with the sheer about of Soulfly records he's made is incredible, This was great, thanks for having him on the show.
@@Easun36 id argue 3 and prophesy are pretty nu metal, and I wad also referring to his work with Ill Nino. And the last record ritual? That record brought them back on the nu metal map man.
@@Easun36 nu metal is a lot more than turntable scratching over syncopated riffs man, when I first heard ritual, that record sonically was the closest they've been to nu metal since their first 3 records.
@@Easun36 there's a lot of nu metal with blast beats, slipknot, five Pointe O, tallah, blood youth, darknet and nothingface are all nu metal bands that have actively used blast beats in their songs.
Great interview and have nothing but respect for Rizzo. Dark Ages was a beast of a record. I’m happy if he losses the backpack. Always thought it was just unnecessary and kind of took the focus off his playing.
One of the most talented guitar players out there! So glad he is now back with Ill Nino. Stoked for the new stuff and tour! They sound amazing live! Also backpack signature idea sounds awesome haha
@@Goodcompanywithbowling btw great interview man loved every second! I totally think Marc is way underrated I wish he would get more attention! He sure deserves it!
very cool interview., that frame of Rotation was a really nice gesture!. Im not too familiar with his solo records but will definitely check it out over the next few days!!!
I saw one of the guitarists ( or maybe both of them were there ) in a music store in NYC between 96 and 98, and after hearing him jam, we talked a little and that's the first I'd heard of El Nino ( the band ).....I can't remember if it was Marc or not, but the dude had long hair back then and he was playing some nasty riffs... I can't even remember the name of the music store, it was so long ago.... but not too long after that, I started hearing about an ILL Nino on mtv, and at first I was like "are they the same band?"
So glad he's back in Ill Nino. Revolucion!
You mean the ill niño cover band that sounds nothing like the original?

@@davidnissim589 I know what you’re saying but I miss Christians voice in Ill nino
Danny is not from the first album
Scott thanks for having "THE MAN" on.I enjoyed it very much,LONG LIVE RIZZO...
My favorite guitarist! God Bless you Marc!

Reallly nice interview. Opened up for him in 2002. Great dude.

@@Easun36 Got to disagree with you there man, that record has a distinct nu metal flare to it. We don't have to agree and that's okay.
Who your talking to bro
Marc Rizzo is an incredible guitar player 🤘🏽
One of the interviews I've been wanting. All ya need to do now Scott is get Max Cavalera on here and we're good to go!
Thanks bro
Love his works on Soulfly's "Dark Ages" . Especially songs like "I and I" , "Carved Inside" , "Riotstarter" ... almost the whole album...

Great interview and music, god bless
Don’t forget to ask him about Hail the horns. It’s a new side project he’s doing with a homie of mine named opus.
Yes! We did talk about it.
Awesomeness Scott and Mark 🔥🔥🔥
awesome interview as always
I would've liked to hear him go through the Soulfly discography more and give some insight on how some of the songs were created.
Unsung guitar hero!
Looking forward to it!
Love my voice cameo at 26:58. 😉
Marc Is The Man.....
Did Marc and Cristian ever bury the hatchet? I think back in 2005 they got into a fight.
Did you ask him why he did jump roundhouse kicks in Ill Nino?
He was practicing for beating up Cristian. Funny how he ended up punching him instead of kicking.
Ask him about bands that he love most and inspired him
He mentioned it during the interview
Marc Rizzo with an Ibanez? Now I've seen everything.
He should bring the backpack back in ill nino
when was this interview?
I'd buy a back pack lol🤘🏻
