Thanks for the video !! Glad I waited for the blooper at the end. Good to see I'm not the only one who forgets to look up, and then plants a fly, leader, split shot and indicator in a tree. .
I knew Mark. Great guy. Fished with him many times on the oak. He showed me the ways of the carpet fly and the baby rainbow streamer way back in the early 90s . I really miss those days.
Great video again Jay thank you. Mark Stothard was his name. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I am one step away from knowing him through many friends and aquaitences. I learned to tie that fly many moons ago and when I do fish an egg fly it's usually a carpet fly.
Mark stoddard or stothard i forget which. But i tied up some of those carpet flies recently. Havent got to use them yet though. He was a brown trout genious on the oak! Beautiful silver brown you got there! Good job! Gotta love a good zonker bite! Might be worth trying a stone too?... Fish on!🐟🎣
Nice catch Jay! I'm looking at buying some property next to the upper dsr this weekend, I hope all goes well and I end up walking out my back door to the river this salmon season. Fish On! P.S. It's crazy how the housing prices have almost doubled in just a few years, but we're told inflation is down, yeah right, crooks!!
The brown trout you're fishing for Are migratory fish from Lake Ontario. They moved into the rivers back in November, Over Wintered in these rivers and I now heading back to the lake. They'll be Back in like in just a few short weeks. So literally it is our last chance to catch one Until next fall

I have a tendency to do that a lot
EVERYONE does it, not everyone admitted it

So do I.
Great video as usual.
Couple tips and tricks and it’s a joy to watch you fish
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow! Jay might be the most ethical fisherman on u-tube. Not only does he utilize barbless hooks, apparently “pointless” hooks also.
I did check the fly, Apparently it did have hook

Hey Jay. Thanks for the video. But they forgot to tell you In film school, Don't look into the tomato can.
I find myself doing that because himself videoing, I need help
Thank you, I needed that!
You're so welcome!
Was it Mark Stothard from the Oak?
Yes it is
Your father-in-law Carl Coleman. He fish down stream on same creek you fished this day.
Yes he did
Let me see.... was his first name Carl?
Carl Did you develop a lot of flight patterns
However The gentleman that came with the carpet fly Is Mark Stoddard from the oak
I can't remember the gentleman's name, but it was fished on the oak
The gentleman was Mark Stoddard from the oak a dear friend of mine
I had the "drops" for a month one time. Was quite annoying.
Know exactly what you're saying been there
New to fly fishing here. Why do you call them "last chance" brown trout.
