- The Sulfur Hatch is finally on its way. Some of the best fishing during a sulfur hatch can happen in a nymph drift prior to the main event. This can happen throughout the day and it's a good opportunity to take advantage if nothing is happening on the surface. Here's a video in which we share a few techniques and tips as well as footage of us catching (and missing) a few fish. Hope you find it useful and as always, free to share this video as well as leave a comment!
Nice job! I always enjoy your approach to tying a fly. Thank You!
Thanks for watching!
You're always entertaining whether you are catching fish or tying flies. Thanks for the info
I appreciate that!
Enjoyed the video. Good combo, tying what you used. Thanks.
Glad you like it
Yes, I enjoyed this fishing tying video. I look forward to more tying videos. Another of your original patterns?
good to hear
Your sulphur emerger with the brown shuck and yellow body is a dirty fly! Used to buy these at the Pendleton shop.
Yes I know the fly, I am the one that tied it
Thank you sir
Welcome
So nice to see a couple flies that are not on a jig hook or include applying UV resin, lol! One thing that surprises me with your nymph rig is those spring creek browns tolerate a bright indicator. I usually have to go really light and use white yarn when micro nymphing. Have you tried stiff spade hackle for your nymphs. I hate losing the tails on my PTNs after several fish and I surmise that the stiff hackle might make the nymph flutter a tad like the neutral buoyant natural. Thanks again Jay - I love your trout video's - get a cameraman the next time so we can see your excellent drifts and the bobber go down.
I know what you talking about with the modern flies.
I normally use And can get away with A white colored indicator.
Yes I have used Spade hackle In the past, Works just fine
Jay. In connection with steelhead crack - do you think new age chenille in copper and black work or do you have recomendation for body material.
Your videos are great!
ThanksMarc
The new age chenille is good
Thanks Jay, I personally really enjoy your trout fishing tips and the tying videos are always something I look forward to as an avid tyer myself!
Glad you like them!
Great format. A bit on the water selected, a bit on gear, a bit on presentation, and tying a pattern used.
