If there is one thing people that follow you should take away with them is this. This is a couple that appreciate the simple but fine things in life. They travel more than most of us. Have an incredible home that they have saved for and filled with quality pieces. They enjoy cooking and eating things that are well prepared and take the time to enjoy. You are very privileged to have each other to share life with, I'm on my own nearly 100% of the time and am going thru a learning process in my 60s, learning how to enjoy aloneness without getting lonely.
I love a day at home. I stay in my PJs. Get cosy with lamps and candles, oil burner on, soft music. Get my books out do some reading, write cards. Cups of tea and coffee. If I eventually do get bored I bake some scones or do some household chores like ironing or tidying the wardrobe,but it’s always a lovely day.

I too love days like this, especially in winter. It can be so grey and bleak in January and February. I don't have a fireplace so I put on my Netflix "fire", light some candles (including scented) and grab a good book and mug of hot chocolate. Perfect day!

I grew up with one German parent and one very southern, US, parent. I learned several great German recipes mixed with okra, fried taters and fried chicken. I miss boiled eggs for Sunday breakfast. I ended up married to an Italian who loves my cooking. That's how I won him over. He hates boiled eggs.

Ich liebe es auch und ja, ich mag auch ganz gerne mal einen Tag für mich zu Hause, da kann man es sich so schön machen, Marmelade kochen, mit dem Hund laufen, lesen, Musik hören und im Garten wuseln😂, gerne habe ich das Laub von den Schneeglöckchen genommen und heute sind wieder 5cm Schnee drauf gefallen....Liebe Grüße sus dem Erzgebirge....

I grew up with one German parent and one very southern, US, parent. I learned several great German recipes mixed with okra, fried taters and fried chicken. I miss boiled eggs for Sunday breakfast. I ended up married to an Italian who loves my cooking. That's how I won him over. He hates boiled eggs.

Hallo Kirtsen und Jörg, Brötchen und Brot werden erst durch viel Wasserdampf im Ofen braun und geschmackvoll, was man dadurch erreicht, daß man einen großen Teller gefüllt mit heißem Wasser mit in den Ofen gibt. Viele Grüße Uwe

Wow. It is so good to catch up with you to see how your home looks after all of the work you have done. It is so pretty and restful. The fireplace is very nice. Homeownership is expensive and it makes sense to enjoy it as much as possible.

Just watching this on a cold wet day outside. It is just like being a guest in your lovely home and reminds me of the times my late husband and I would spend together in our cottage kitchen. He loved all things German as he lived and worked in Rinteln. I have just made an apple cake. Bless you!
