    The 3D printed Eclipson model A XL is the big brother of our successful trainer model A. The airplane includes many new features such as Independent flaps, tail wheel, aerodynamic 3d printed hinges or stronger LG concept among many other details. If we compare the smaller version with this one we can find some disadvantages like more printing and assembly time but in exchange you will get an airplane more stable, more polivalent and in general easier to fly.

    Model A is one my favorite planes. It had some really rough time with me. Twice the wing broke half midflight, the central place between the wing and fuse1 had always to be supported by a depron piece. Usually too quick to land on grass, therefore ailerons had to be deployed. Well, it seems you fixed all these weak points. Looking forward to the new version. Kudos!

    Nice looking design. Can see how some things evolved. Very inspiring.

    Hi again. Regarding the lw-pla, I'm going to try colorfabb lw-pla-ht. Can I use your lw-pla g-codes? I was planning to just tune the g-codes increasing the flow to 110% on the printer. This would increase flow from 53 to 58% (right?) If you have any suggestion to save me some time... 🙂 Thanks in advance!

      You are right. With that will be fine.

    Hi @Eclipson! At 0:54 what is the name of that small tube that you insert on the wing? I´m printing this plane right now and I cannot find this piece. Thanks!

    I couldn't find information anywhere about the correct, realistically measured wall thickness when printing with LW-PLA.

      Hello. If you respect the speed, temperature and flow in our table you will get the right thickness. Anyway if you wanna check it the value is 0,55mmwith an acceptable tolerance of +-0,05mm

    What is the spray you are using during assembly and why?

    I'm just finishing my setup and I'm needing around 250gr (!) of counterweight on the nose to balance it... is this normal (pla version)? The total weight including the 250gr and everything else is 1500gr. Thanks

      Yes is normal for the PLA version. Try LW-PLA next time, the plane will be easier to fly.

    • @eclipsonairplanes

      That can work. We also recommend using battery positioning and size for balancing.

    How do you tighten the prop with the motor inside the fuselage?

    • @eclipsonairplanes
      @eclipsonairplanes  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your motor is rotating (sometimes happens), here are 3 ideas: Hold the motor with your finger, hold the motor with a screwdriver or apply some bad quality glue to the prop/spinner/motor.

      On my prop holders you hold the prop in one hand and tighten the nut against it with second hand, no need to hold the motor.
