When you tie to poles like that, run your lines from the boat, around the pole, then back to your boat.
So you can just untie and pull your lines in.

From a comment on another channel : "Any docking you can walk away from is a Good docking. If you can reuse the boat it was a Great docking." =)

We are life long boaters and really enjoying the innocence of your show. I'm getting a great laugh at your complete lack of proper nautical terms, it's very endearing to an old salt. It's great to watch you guys figuring it all out. Most we know saved for years to be able to retire and do the loop. Our question is how are you paying for this trip at such a young age? Maybe you could do a show on introducing yourselves and what you did to be able to do the trip.

My wife and I think what you are doing is awesome! We have been living vicariously thru folks like you on TH-cam. We want to motor our Hatteras from Baltimore to the Bahamas via the intracoastal. We are 60 so you guys have a head start. We look forward to following your adventures. Stay safe.

Well done, leaving the dock wasn't bad and I thought it was excellent how you both kept your cool even though I could tell you were stressed. I remember my 1st time departing from teh dock and returning in my new boat, you two did much better than I did. Keep up the good work, think before you execute a move and keep up the good communication and you will be fine.

Recognized the t shirt from Joshua Tree State Park. I spent several deployments to 29 Palms for CAX. I think you did fine dealing with a new experience. The most important thing is to learn from your adventures. It takes years to learn it all and even then something can happen that you haven't planned. I love both of your attitudes. It'll take you a long way in life. I read other comments and one great recommendation is purchasing a set of "marriage savers". Eartech is one product. (Sorry if I spelt it wrong.) Semper Fi.

Y’all have such a great attitude and are open minded to learning you’ll pick it up fast. Keep doing you and don’t let the comment trolls get you down. Everyone started fresh at some point and some have never done it at all. Looking forward to the journey

Reccomend you have a training day with a certified captain like Capt Chris .Its all good on calm days ,when the weather comes up things happen fast.Good luck on your adventure.Another thing to check is comms, you can ask any boat for a radio check .Channels 71,72 .Look up VHF channels and keep a list handy .

It’s always stressful learning to operate a large expensive boat. There is so much money on the line! 😂 At least there weren’t any other expenses boats next to you while you were trying to figure out your dock lines.
Keep your cool and always apologize if you act like an azz!
Can’t wait to see you guys do the loop. You’re living my dream. God bless!

you done good, anything that doesn't sink the boat is a good learning experience .... I would just like to suggest you trade in those flip flops for something else, the chance of them catching on a line or the gunwale when racing around the boat is too great... save them for relaxing and watching the sunsets..... stay safe, Tim and Cat

The shoreline for west Palm in not a no wake zone. Recheck the signs. Only no wake around marinas and manatee zone during certain periods of the year.

Love the trawler, how is the noise level inside the cabin while cruising? Can you have a conversation? The Lehman is super reliable and will last for years to come. I’m curious to the trawler lifestyle as I have a 30ft express cruiser with twin gas engines and underway it’s loud but still able to have a conversation while raising voices.

The wonder bar shirt is from Austin, TX! Funny you noticed. We are hoping to officially set off for the loop in January 2025!

How do you guys like living on the Europa style? I have a 36’ Tricia in and love my full aft cabin but I’m always envious of Europe’s with the huge aft doors! Do you feel cramped in your v berth?

Congrats on the completion of the first solo cruise! I felt your anxiety leaving the dock. We've been there ourselves quite often. Thanks for your honesty in including it. You definitely need to prioritize safety over filming. I've had to do that multiple times. It might help if you had a stationary place where you could put the Go Pro, press record and forget about it. You may already have that and perhaps you didn't have time to set it up. I'm looking forward to following your next steps. Do you have an idea on when you'd start the loop?

Please take some lessons. Get a Capt. to help you learn some of the basic skills like throwing and cleating lines and how basic things like bridges work. It’s okay… we have all been there. But please get instruction before you hurt yourself or someone else.

Key word: most. We used the bridge schedule from offshoreblue.com & there are many listed as “opens on demand.” Of course that doesn’t mean right then at that second. Maybe you’ll be courteous & let a couple more boats catch up to you. But sorry you feel this is newbie crap. Thanks for watching though!
