      I ordered to have my bag shipped to the store for pick up, is it possible they switched the bag before me picking it up? The bag wasn't wrapped and it had damage.

      For repairs, do they waive them if it’s within the first year of purchasing the item? I was told that when bringing in my speedy to repair the top handles.

    I was going to buy a pochette metis but after doing research and seeing all of the quality issues with LV and this bag specifically, i decided not to spend my money on it. Not only that, but they are hard to come by so I'm sure I'd get a used bag. I bought a Bvlgari serpenti bag instead and let me tell you, their bags are absolutely phenomenal. The gold is real 24k gold plated, and they use precious gem stones on the clasp. The leather is smooth calf skin and the bags have chips. They even come with a raincoat and mirror. They're much more exclusive since they arn't all over influencers, your getting what your paying for craftsmanship wise.

    I recently visited the LV store in Zurich/Switzerland. I was served by one of the friendliest saleswoman in my life. It was a hot day and she immediately brought me some Evian water (without knowing if I would buy anything at all). Later she offered me two more drinks, it was just perfect. I ended up buying a nice leather bag and I'm still thinking about the great shopping experience.
    By the way, I wish I had such a great saleswoman like you Cindy in my LV Store! You are incredibly friendly and positive. Thank you for your videos! Cheers from Germany.

    I’ve been sold a bag that’s been returned. The inside was black so at the store I didn’t notice. But when I got home I had the idea to use my flashlight on my phone to see the insides. There was so many crumbs at the bottom of the bag! The inside pocket was also stretched. Ugh! I went right back the next day and returned it. They wouldn’t accept that my return was because it was a pre-sold item so I told the SA I didn’t think the bag worked with my style.

    I actually went to purchase a charm for my Palm Springs mini and the one on display had loads of scratches on it. I told the client advisor it’s the one I wanted but they did not let me know they’d be wrapping up the display charm with scratches. Thankfully I double checked before leaving so I just had her order me a brand new one for pickup.

    Thank you for saying that new bags are wrapped in plastic, styrofoam, etc., when the boutiques receive them. My CAs all knew not to unwrap my purchases; I prefer to do it myself. I cannot tell you the number of times that I have had people say that LV never has plastic or wrapping on it, and I try to debunk that myth. Glad to hear it from someone else. 🙌🏼

    The quality has definitely dropped. The quality and craftsmanship aren’t the same anymore compared to the vintage LV bags or leather goods. It’s such a shame and I agree - it’s definitely not worth what they’re charging.
    I bought a bag online which arrived with tons of scratches on the hardware. The plastic were all removed and the inside of the bag just looked dirty almost? I returned immediately even though it was a popular bag I wanted for a few months 💀

      I’ve been in the same situation with an online purchase: when the bag arrived it had scratches on all 4 feet and they had dirt on them too. I exchanged it for a new one which arrived today and this one was in perfect condition.
      The question is: paying so much for a handbag, should this happen at all? Surely someone inspects the bag before sending it out?

      @@betigrey5910 I did the same! The exchanged bag was fresh, sealed, and even smelt clean! I have a feeling that they first send out the scratched/ low key faulty bags and see whether anyone keeps them. If it’s a bag that’s hard to find or purchase, some people may keep it (which is better for them as they don’t have to pass this onto the employee sale). But if, like you and I, want better bang for your buck then you’ll either return if not in stock or exchange the bag if it is in stock.

      I bought an Empreinte cleats. It was made in France….and there were scratches on the zipper pull (metal). Quality control is awful.

    It’s so interesting getting to see the opinions of a pervious Louis Vuitton employee and so much that has changed now! I’ve recently hit my 3 months with LV and am excited to buy some bags (mostly leather), knowing that the quality isn’t what it use to be worries me. I am a host so I don’t get to see everything that happens in store but I have had several clients let me know they are doing returns on bags due to them having a lot of scratches on hardware, uneven sticking and a couple other things!

    So agree with everything you said! When I picked up my ONTHEGO, I chose to inspect it in the store; the bag wasn't wrapped, even though it was supposed to be an order shipped to the store. The bag was warped, and there was a split on the top edges. My SA was able to find me another ONTHEGO that looks perfect, but I doubt that it was new. I was just shocked that they didn't check the bags before having their customers picking them up. It was a horrifying first experience to open up your first LV bag and saw all those damages.

      @@katemiller7874 Some people prefer wrapped, some prefer unwrapped; that's because they are inconsistent with their quality. So yes, they could win if they have better quality control, then their customers wouldn't worry so much and happily receive every order.

    Great video! Interesting to hear you purchased a previously loved item from a retailer in Japan. I also just recently purchased a bag from a vender based in Japan. Bag looks great! I was worried that it may not be authentic but it gives me more of a comfort level to know that you with all your knowledge of LV feels a certain comfort level also purchasing from Japan. I know as a rule that Japan has a large secondary market in luxury handbags.

    I received my Alma BB yesterday and it didn’t have any protective film on any of the metal pieces and the keys were all scratched up. Also there a stitch that’s sticking out like it wasn’t clipped right.

    Thank you for your honest view. I definitely agree that the quality has reduced. I don't really think I want to spend that much on their LV leather bags as it doesn't seem to be worth it. At least with the canvas I know that I didn't pay an exorbitant amount (well before the price increase). Those price increases are insane:(

    It's refreshing to hear the truth behind these "luxury" houses! I recently had a bad experience buying a speedy. While i know that speedy is one of their "cheaper" bags, it is still an LV product that should be of high quality. But when I saw and pointed out to the SA some stitching issues, the stitching was asymmetrical and some leather issues on the handles, she brushed it off by saying that these are handmade. Handmade is not an excuse for quality issues. The SA told me that if the next bag that they order comes with some issue, then that's it, they'll just cancel the order and refund me. I was so shocked 😵. The SA didn't even offer to exchange the bag until I asked. And I'm not even sure that the bag I got was brand new. So so disappointed at this whole experience.

    I agree the quality has diminished. Having been loyal to the House for over 40yrs, and collected quite the stash of Runway, Limited Edition, and traditional pieces such as Alzers/Bistens etc., it is sad not only to see the prices increase while the service and quality plummet. SA’s are young and unknowing of the LV history, products, and overall heritage of the house. Usually when I enter my boutique, its like a scene from Devil Wears Prada when Meryl Streep enters the building😂 they all scurry. Nevertheless, I still value the Heritage, Savoir-faire of Vuitton, but overtime I guess all ebbs and flows at some point. Love your information and insights to LV.

    Hello :) I just love your honesty and videos! I just bought one Alma BB DE yesterday after an exchange because of Alma BB Monogramme quality issues... I CHECKED EVERYTHING and the bag is in pristine condition but I've noticed a lot of "wrinkles" on the interior of the handles. I just wanted to know if it is normal (because of treated leather) or if it is not (I ask those who have the same bag as well). I asked my SA and she said yes it's normal but I keep on interrogate myself.

    I purchased a pochette metis online before and when it arrived it was very obvious someone used it and returned from the dust bag being so wrinkled and the bag itself creased, I returned it and got another damaged item.

    Thanks for making this video. I wish I would have watched this before I purchased online. I just returned a Speedy B25 in DamienEbene. One of the leather strips on the side had a scratch. The packaging was horrible it wasn’t even in the dust bag. Client services could not have been nicer they are attaching an email with my concerns to my return. I will never buy online again and if I do buy from the store I am dissecting the bag ! I’m totally disappointed

    I’ve had my LV Never Full for 13 years bought it in Venice on vacation. I love it it should go in for some maintenance but I love it too much to part with it for any length of time. The only thing I’m not fond of I wish the handles were a little thicker they tent to dig into my shoulder at times.

    Why would anyone think that they won’t sell a return? It’s a retail store at the end of the day. It’s completely reasonable they would resell a return. I’m pretty sure my New Wave Chain Bag was a return. The removable handle was inside the bag unwrapped. I didn’t mind as it was in excellent condition and smelled brand new. Still smells amazing after over a year of use. lol People have some crazy expectations. It’s not expensive because it’s perfect. It’s expensive because it’s their intellectual property and they can charge whatever they want for it. We will either deal with it or move on. 🤣

    About 7 years ago I purchased a vintage sac platt for a really good price but the inside was peeling and I took it to LV to inquire about getting it replaced and was quoted over $600 so I just bought an insert. Then I bought a Noe from a Japanese reseller on EBay again for a deal but the trim and the drawstring was brittle and came off so I just replaced the drawstring and took all the leather trim off the top. This year I took my Sac Platt to LV in Bloomingdale’s to get a quote to replace the lining and was quoted 330 which is half the price of the original quote years back. So then I took my Noe and asked to get a quote to replace the trim and the drawstring and for fun asked how much it was to get the whole vachetta replaced including the trim on the sides, bottom and the handles along with the other two things previously mentioned and she quoted me $330. So now they are both at the repair center. Can’t wait to get them back. To get all the vachetta replaced on a Noe for the cost of a key clues is such a great deal. Is the price difference due to years back they would have to send it back to France to get it repaired vs now it stays in the states?

    I went to pick up my capucines mini recently and was disappointed to find scratches on one of the hardwares on the side of the bag. Based on the placement of the hardware, I think that the deep scratches were made during production of the bag. I am honestly surprised that the bag actually passed QC. Instead of taking the bag out from circulation given the obvious defect on the hardware, I saw that the bag went back into their inventory for sale to the next unsuspecting customer. 🤦‍♀️
    My CA arranged for a replacement to be shipped from the warehouse and I hope that it is going to be perfect and not a used return. I will also ask that the plastics not be removed when the bag is ready for pick up.

    Wow I brought a black duo messenger, staff didn’t even show me condition of bag went home, looked at bag looked used. Leather looked really worn and didn’t look like the one she compared it too .Tried taking taking it back they told me it was me that did it sold it for 595 pounds today 😩 brought it before price increas e at 1580, think I’ll try prada next

    I got my vintage bucket bag interior repaired recently too and they charged me $490 and they added a brand new pochette to replace the old one since it couldn’t be repaired. I was able to keep my old pochette get a new one and a bag that looks brand new all for that price. I think it’s a pretty good deal considering a mini pochette alone already cost about $540.

    When I got the Melie in Empreiente Noir it was definitely a return. The date code showed it was already 6 months old and the hardware had more scratches that you'd expect from a store display. I was doing an exchange for a defective bag that was no longer in production and the Melie was what I wanted so I wasn't concerned about it considering the situation I felt grateful for the exchange.. The key pouch I ordered was made in march and sent to me in Sept so I figure that was prob purchased and returned, maybe multiple times bc of all the key pouch microscopic inspection videos going around LOL. The last bag I bought was graceful in august and she scanned the chip for me and it was literally produced a few days prior so I was happy about that. I think some CAs are being told not to scan chips, ppl will not know the date code and have no idea just how old their bag is. The older the bag in my opinion the more likely it was purchased, held for 30 days, then returned, taking even more time if it has to be mailed back in, etc.

    I believe everything you’re saying. I gotten a few repairs done for free just for being a loyal client. I have also experienced bad quality in the fine jewelry items. Now I only collect a few pieces due to the quality control. I had to return 2 items in the past year. I think a good video would be talking about the quality of the products.

    How do people get through the interrogation process when they bring in a bag for repair?! I swear I brought an item I purchased in France and they made me wait for foreverrrrr to confirm I made the purchase before I touched it. How do people bring in something they bought on eBay or fashionphile etc?!

    I definitely ordered a DE Neverfull online and when I got it, there was dog hair inside.. 🙃..so right then I knew it was a return and had been used for a bit before the original owner had done so. I did end up keeping it because it otherwise was in perfect condition and all the hair came out, but still ..wtf! Lol

    I had someone else credit card in my bag. Turned out to be the one of the salesman girlfriend. Store manager remember her from company party. They took bags out and returned them the next day...lol. I just got my money back.

    Tbh I am a bit picky and if I spend that amount of money I will make sure that I get a brand new item. I don‘t buy from the store I always order online cause my local store never has the items in stock and If I place an order I will order the piece 2x to check which one of them is in a way more perfect condition lmao why am I like this

    I do all my shopping online and yes twice I have received bags from LV that were clear a return, someone had it before me. It was the multi pochette and the Game On Vanity PM but they were such a hot item at the moment and impossible to get that I just kept them, I inspected them and they were in excellent condition, but they were not store fresh if you know what I mean. I was upset but I have to get over because I really want them.

      Do you mind mentioning how you know an item is brand new shipped or one that came as a return? I recently had my first bag delivered and it simply came in the dust bag and the classic LV box inserted into a shipping box

I worked in high end retail for 25 yrs when I was younger, so after 25 yrs you kind of know when things are not fresh out of the box, ☺️though it is not an exact science ☺️ but things that I noticed, first the leather is a little be more relax after it has been used, second usually the accessories come in the inside but when it has been used they are already on the bag. It is nothing wrong with the item for the must part, it is just that after you pay all that money you want to make sure is super brand new ❤️❤️ I do all my shopping online so that also makes it easier to tell.     Yep that’s correct . I was looking for a mens wallet and my SA took out an eclipse long wallet from the back . When I open it up boom someone’s credit card ! A credit card is still in the card slot.. she was literally so embarrassing and speechless lmao

    Hi, do you know what it means if I placed a pre-order for an item that has yet to launch until the end of this month and my card was immediately charged and it showed as “pending product availability”, now after a couple weeks, it says “product in Preparation”, but now today it switched back to original message of “pending product availability”. Is there a chance I will still get it or will it be canceled. Any info. would be appreciated, thx!

    One of the things I am sure is the quality of their products are not the same, I just return the strap of my speedy bandolier which was defective, also the keys of the lock were rusty. after a long wait they gave me a new strap, when I got home I checked the new lock they gave me and the keys were the same as the other pair...mmm no time to go and return them again

    I don’t know if you already have a video on this, but my store in Brazil already exchanged 2 items for me that started to have the glazing defect. One was the Porte-Documents Jour Epi leather, used for 2 years. The glazing started to melt. And the other one was a BEAUTIFUL Neverfull MM Epi Coquelicot Red, my mom used for 3 years, the glazing also started to melt. So, with the Porte-Documents credit, I paid the difference for a Horizon 55 and my mom actually wanted the same bag, but they didn’t have it anymore and couldn’t repair on both cases, so she got a Twist MM with the credit. I don’t know if that usually happens, but they always treated me like e VIC I guess, not sure but I even receive gifts on my birthday, like “not for sale” cardholders 🤣

    I bought an Alma PM runway piece was a display. It was the only one in the store. Also bought another (eden PM) bag that was a display and they told me it’s the only one left in the company, then I come back a week later and there’s another one 😩

    Yes I agree with LV quality, I brought my very first designer bag this year and the handle glazing was coming off I like LV a lot and will most likely by a never full and mini porchette but it’s definitely disheartening of how much money we spend on these bags to have subpar quality. I will say tho that the repair process was easy and pleasant still waiting on my bag tho. And I loveeeee your videos

    I had the full lining of my Tassil Yellow Sac Triangle replaced and was charged £234 for it, which I thought was really good considering the amount of materials and lining; then I had the zip replaced on my Trousse 28 and was charged £124 for it, which I thought was really expensive! My most recent repair (zip fabric came away on my 2 year old round coin purse) was supposed to be £124 also, but my CA waived the fee. I don't buy much, but he's still good to me 💕

    I bought a PM from LV website and when it arrived, the metal bits at the sides where the straps are hooked were already scratched up. Too bad i didn't inspect properly and already peeled off the protective stickers from the front clasp 😆

      Some SAs use white erasers to remove slight dirt marks on vachetta. I know this for a fact because I was purchasing a limited edition speedy 30 and it was the only one left in the entire country. It had a tiny bit of dirt on one of the chaps and my SA took it to the back room and when she came back the dirt mark was gone! I asked her how did she get it off without ruining the vachetta and she said "it is a secret". She then winked at me and said "white eraser". LOL!

    Great video! Thank you for this. How long would you advise to leave the stickers on the hardware that comes on the bag when purchased? Ive heard that one client left her plastic on the Pochette Metis gold hardware lock to open the bag and it ended up discoloring her hardware. Is this true?

      So far I don’t have issue leaving the stickers on the hardware and will damage the hardware. I’ve a bag that the stickers have been there for 10 years and recently I removed them; so far no issue at all. 😊

    The SLGs are still good and I would buy their shoes but no more bags. I had this odd occurrence of 3 bags consecutively having manufacturing defects. For 2 of them the employee just nodded and took them back. The NeoNoe had colour wear off on the straps after 2 weeks.. I took it in they said store credit only even though she acknowledged the defect. I was so soured by the other two bags I went back and forth with customer service until I got a refund and don’t think I can buy another bag from them. I like the stickers neverfull so maybe will eat my words on that one but other than that no LV bags for me. The OntheGo is 3K.. pass. I’m sad because when I was younger and broke I thought LV was all that and I was dying to own canvas then empreinte bags. Speaking of those, I bought the first empreinte speedy, when it was 3K, in the pretty purple colour and the glazing immediately started wearing off. Took it back to the store because it’s a 3K bag and was basically shooed away. No joke, 3-4 YEARS later someone calls me and says we will give you store credit because that bag was defective but you need to bring the bag back .. they thought I would keep a defective bag for 4 years?? No apology, no voucher no nothing. I sold it shortly after seeing the defect for like half the price. Yeah won’t be buying empreinte anything ever. Excuse the rant-y post!!

    I just went recently in LV Zürich to pick up my repaird Noe and brought with me my Speedy 25. I want the leather to be repaired because it looks really dark. The SA told me, “NO” better you use that money for new bags at the end the repair cost much. 🥺I know it cost much but I want the leather have its new life, that was actually disappointing. But I will visit the shop again and maybe a more approachable SA will assist me.

    I also have LV bag I just bought and changed my mind to exchange to the tote bag. She was so good to eye for the scratch. I did not even use it but took it out from the dust bag and took a picture. Thats all i did…. And has scratch!!! So now i am going to inspect all corners especially handle!!! I dont like the LV bag so let me know if interested

    I went into LV yesterday and purchased the Pochette Métis, which is hard to get. The rep said he sent it along with two other of the same style but different colors to a customer. She returned the one I wanted. It looked like it had not been worn, but who knows. Well, when he showed it to me, another customer saw it, a VIC I suppose. The rep tried everything possible to get the bag for the woman. She ended up buying 4 other bags, plus the new design black pochette with red piping, and the all black. I love my new bag, and thought of you while they were trying to get me to not purchase the bag. It was 2300, can’t recall the exact price. Thanks for sharing your insights with us all!

    I almost bought an LV necklace in New York City, last year. It was so beautiful, it cost over $500. I decided not to buy it because, it was just a fashion jewelry. I'm used to wearing only real gold jewelries.

    I was sold a $3,000 bag from YSL in store. When I got home, I realized it was a display bag. It was not wrapped up in plastic or stuffed with paper, no care instructions or authenticity card etc and I’ve bought from them before and know what to expect. I called and they were like oh that was the last bag. I had stepped outside to take a call. I wish the sales person would have said something. I returned it at a different store and got the bag new but I don’t think I will ever go back. When a bag costs so much and you can only get an exchange, they should give you the choice of buying display items.

    I've had an updated quote on a repair from the after care specialist at my store. On my way to VIC status? LOL. He gave me $500 off of the original quote on a vintage Randonnee backpack originally quoted at $750 for the full Vachetta replacement. Maybe my next repair will be free. 😭

    One thing I found out about LV, I went to buy s pair of shoes (Brown Luxemburg Trainers) from the Louis Vuitton store in Manchester, UK but wasn't sure which size. The sales advisor brought out a few sizes, but when she brought the shoes out, they were all packages in an LV branded shoe box where they were wrapped like normal shoes in the paper. When I found the right size , i purchased them. The sales advisor then said she was going to "box them up for me" then went into the back. When she came out they were in the big orange boxes as normal in dust bags. Why do they remove the shoes from the original LV branded box, to put them in another big box with he addition of dust bags?

    I took in my neverful mm in to see if the lining can be changed, but my SA said they don’t repair. (Maui) I was a little sad but oh well. 😍

      You can still get your lining changed. Just email your repair request along with detailed photos of your bag to: usacareservice@contact.louisvuitton.com. This information can be found on the official LV website by clicking "Can we help you?" on the top of the homepage. If everything looks ok, Client Services will then email you a quote. Once you decide to move forward with the repair, Client Services will send you a free pre-paid shipping label. Once your repair is complete, Client Services will send you an invoice to pay before they ship your bag back to you. My repairs tend to take about 6 weeks and I am in California. Hope this helps. :)
