I think we all dream about T performing tip tests 😍
i must agree!
Meh.. I don't think so.
Yes,nice tip action
Amen to that! 🍻
To those who are negative Nancies. JoeX has intimate knowledge of each blade's limitations due to his testing and it gives insight on where the strengths and weaknesses are in the knives each of us owns. Of course nobody is going to abuse their knife this much, but if we do. We know what to do to avoid breaking your knife due to JoeX.
thanks snickers!!!! i like your taste!!! cheers!!!
I heard JoeX was actually blowing dudes for this knowledge
Well said bro. 💯
@@joex You're the man!
I personally appreciate the hell out of people who do these kind of tests.
I am very impressed with the 1917 Frontier Bowie even by Joe X standards. Good video and test.
thanks a lot!
That flex in the blade was impressive. Didn't expect that performance from a blade with that price.
Looking at this test proves thst my body would break before my 1917 Bowie 😊 Thanks for your hard work, Joe 👍
u need to train then!!!! cheers!
@@joex 😃👍
@@joex😂
Best Austrian / mexican / spanglish speaking knife destroyer guy ever.. You are the adult version of all of us viewers at age 12 but you have a torture bunker !! keep em coming JOE meXican crazzy guy ..
thanks a lot!!!! cheers!!! i will try!
I rebuilt my 1917 TWICE. The blade is awesome, however I had to weld it to a new homemade handle, thus creating my famous D-17 Frontier Bowie built by ME! And it is now my favorite hard use Bowie Knife. I can't wait to see this! I believe it will Fail very soon, that handle may snap off like a toothpick!🗡🔥🔥🤠👍💯
cool!
Have any pics and a link to find them?
I love that Cold Steel fans took the destruction test well and didn't foam like TOPS fanboys. Proud to have a small collection of CS products. Danke for the vid, Joe.
true, TOPS Fanboys are crazy, CSFB's are used to it now!
Out lasted A LOT. LONGER than I thought it would! LOVE my Frontier Bowie... GREAT TESTING there Joe!!!
thanks a lot bro!
When aliens get close enough to get within the vicinity of my air drop range this is the first video I will send to them. This video is peak human.
cool thanks!
Me too!!!😂
Excellent video Joe X. Thanks for all your hard work. The mighty Cold Steel Bowie did better than i expected.
yeah, it did pretty ok!
Bro, you've exceeded the "extreme" - you took it in the realm of rather insanity ...
So, the knife took it like a champ ...
Of course, ANY knife will break into pieces if anyone really intends to do so ...
I was frankly surprised that the tip on such a long blade withstood that kind of abuse ... (The longer the blade, the bigger the torque ...)
So, I'd say it's a beastly blade ... it withstood a tone of gross abuse ...
Cheers !
it is a cool blade!!! but not my favorite!
I like to see a quality mass-produced knife. I've had it for several years too. Indian (classic) work with spring steel in the forge and there is a quality knife in the world. Great video! Thanks.
u are welcome bro!
Most (all) of the swords from Cold Steel come out of India, it's a good bet this knife was made at a sword factory and given the same type of heat treatment.
Price is a bit steep for this.160 euros is a lot for a knife.mass produced for me is good price to performance. this is worth a max of 100 which is the real price in us
The Cold Steel 1917 Frontier Bowie held up Fantastic!
There is no shame in losing your life to the mighty Iron Rod.. as many a good blade has been brutally fucked by it's greatness.. the mighty Iron rod has broken the thickest of spines.. the mighty Iron Rod remains undefeated!
Still.. I am a Cold Steel fanboy for a reason.. I am a Cold Steel fanboy to the very end.
Salute Joe X!!
it did! gracias amigo Fanboy!
Bang on that pipe with a crowbar long enough & eventually stress fractures will cause the crowbar to break, LOL ..
So basically that "test" proves absolutely NOTHING....
The intro with Joe going off the dock with a knife in his hand made me laugh so loud that I woke up my old dog😂 I don’t need a bowie knife but I’m going to buy one and it will no doubt be a product from Cold Steel. I like this model for the huge hand guards and they old design.
glad u like my style!!! i am not into that blade!!! but it did good!
Another one crashes and burns. I knew it couldn’t handle joex. Hell yeah this was awesome joe ⚔️👍🏻☠️
glad u liked it brother!
It held up better than I thought it would . Respect to CS and India .... I guess . LMAO. Respect to JOE X .
yeah, i was surprised as well!
That bowie lasted longer than I expected it would.
I have a Cold Steel Laredo Bowie and really like it!
cool!
Always impressed by your skies. Clear deep blue. Over in the states we have had our skies sprayed by our government with high altitude aerosols for the last 30 odd years and so when you look up now, even on a crystal clear day, all you see is a whitish haze that dampens the blue. On the clearest of days you will still see the white/gray haze when you look up. Weather geoengineering and the public never asks questions.
never trust the government!!! i believe in aliens!
Get away from the big cities and the skies clear up.
It's the same everywhere.
Decently produced badass knife! Impressive looks for that money. Needs some good belt for trausers too.🤠
Great job Joe X!
What I've taken from your tip test further proves what I've learned from Saving Private Ryan. The more to can place your mass over your stab the more effect the knife will work. Marlboro School of Physics I've submitted my application.
i am a sience teacher, not physics!!!
Shit...I applied to the wrong school
Saving Private Ryan is one of the reasons I can now bench press an above average size man with one arm.
In a tussle with one guy, he doesn't stand a chance. In a tussle with two guys, it's a fair fight.
They need three guys to get that knife through MY heart.
@@budthecyborg4575sure thing, Rambo. 😂
@@CadillacDriver I'm talking average conscripts, totally average SNAFU warfare.
If I were ever deployed in Asia or Italy they would need SIX men to pin me down.
Joe x has highly underrated cardio. Mans got max holloways gas tank
yeah, thanks!
The suspense is killing me, cant wait to see this!!
yeah!
Talk about quite the knife! Another booming video my friend!
thanks a lot!
looks not bad at all but a bit expensive---> 185€
well done JOEX !!

it was not too bad!

Lynn Thompson would be proud. A true torture test like cold Steel (used) to believe in. Kool 👍
thanks a lot bro!
How impressive is that blade, holy crap! Never would have expected that fine tip to be so friggin strong. Good job Cold Steel!
it is a good one!
Esto se ve de locos pero este es el único canal que demuestra si un cuchillo aguanta. Saludos Joe desde Puerto Rico.
gracias!
Very impressive! Im glad i have one of these! The handle had wiggle right out the box, so i removed it, sanded it, and glued it back on, nice and tight. Only gripe is the edge came pretty dull, and its so thick that I couldnt sharpen it, after about 20 hours on diamond stone's, over the course if five nights. Still, very impressed
it is a nice bowie!! this one was ok sharp!
Is this the best one in the history?that's so tough!
not really!
It was refreshing to see one passing el bricko :)
Great fun, Joe. Cold Steel (kung-fu) Panda is in love with you😂
Thank's man!!!🍻👏🍻
u are welcome brother!
It looked so very nice at first. Then Joe X came along to test it. Now... it doesn't look so nice anymore - but we know the truth! Go Joe! 8D
thanks a lot bro!
If Jim Bowie was alive today he'd get a custom work tuff for sure!
probably!
Hooray!! Been waiting for you to get to this one.
awesome!
Looks like that'll be the next knife I'll be buying. Pretty impressive 💪
ok cool!
Amazon $112!
It's a crap chopper and the handle rattled after a few minutes... get a Marine Raider SP-10 and be done.
@@CadillacDriver I have choppers for chopping. And handle can be replaced easily. I can buy one of those fairly cheaply, to add to my collection. It can serve a purpose.
@@finnishfatman it's not a hard use knife that I'd trust my life to, it is only good for self defence from humans or animals.
Its not to bad, and it is stronger then I tought. I love the look of this knife. Awesome Video💪
thanks a lot! it did ok, but i dont like the handle!
wie immer ein neues cooles video joe !
danke!
Mate!!!
The most awesome test to destruction of a knife I’ve ever seen-
I bought two of these-1 for me and one for my son.
I would seriously like to by the ‘bits’ left after your extensive test of this knife!
Who says ‘Indian made knives are crap!’ This thing is an example of how good a knife can actually be built!
Thanks mate-you’re a tough brother! That’s for sure and this absolutely honest test of this weapon is above and beyond!!!
Excellent my knife loving brother!!!
Thanks dude!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
u are welcome, this one is awesome!!!!

Wow I thought it would be the same as the wild west but it isn't! Dang, now I have to buy it again.
better than the WW!!!
really awesome car action!
edit: fancy blade finish, sexy knife
like T !
I'd love to see a torture test on the spyderco para 2 and spyderco shaman, there aren't any videos out there truly showing what kind of abuse they can take!
maybe but it hate those blades!
Very though! Great test as usual!!
thanks a lot!
The lighting in the time lapse was the Years passing by. Tough tree
yeah it was a dead one!
Thanks, I been waiting for this one.
This one gonna hurt my balls
balls have nothing to do with it my friend!
13:29 that scream in slowmo had me like 😂😂😂
awesome!
This video increases my confidence in my purchase.
Thank you 🙏
u are welcome!
My dream, actually where I live is hard to buy (all sold), but one thing:that knife is truely combat knife, not typical survival tool, it is designed to fight with it;) and I think it is a great combat knife!
i would not take it to combat!
@@joex why so? Too big? I mean its bowie knife, so it is definitely designed to fight with it
Decent steel in that blade. Good work Joe X. Try the Condor Hudson Bay next💪💪💪
thanks!
1:41 I was so expecting another random three suddenly falling down dangerously.
me too!
dont use knives as prybar...... cold steel 1917: hold my beer!
yeah, exactly!
Dude is a real distructionist if that's a word... Real badass
Marlboro! thanks!
17:13 Adi - friggin - fuckin' - os! 😃 I've hoped for a long time that you would do this one and was super excited to watch it. When I heard it was made in India, my expectations dropped... dropped even further when the handle started wiggling so early on the tree. After that, wow, what a surprise it did so well. 1080 sounds like maybe a good option for knife steel. Even on the brick, the edge damage seemed repairable for quite some time. I don't own it but it seems like a reasonable purchase. I think better handle scales, a bit of welding on the handguard, and shortening the guard with a cutter wheel to make it less cumbersome would be good mods to create a potentially great knife. Also, I was very impressed with the bluing. That blade finish is just beautiful! You of course did a fantastic job showing this knife's strengths and weaknesses. Thanks!
yeah, u are welcome, it did good i think!!!! cheers!
Hey Joe! Love your work! Was wondering if you had a compilation of knives you believe are the worth the money and effort to get!!
check my "Top 15 fixed blade" vid!"
this knife was more durable than i thought it would be
yes!
Now that looks like a good bowie! I never considered it cause I don't like the big guard, but maybe I just need to put in some work to take it from good to great
it is a good one but nothing for me!
Wie wäre es mit dem cold Steel Arkansas toothpick? Wäre mal was neues, jedenfalls von der Form her
gute Idee!!!!
*i told u how good that is but still better than i thougt!*
yes!
Nice test; I would like to see some stuff from Joker (spain). There were not tested that much and as hard as you do in the past.

Sadly i predict it will break easy based on other vid i have watched
ok maria!
I stand corrected
Woooow of thought the tip was immediately gonna break

This is the first time I have seen a glass knife. 😨😨

@@rollypollyguy3976 The Amerindians you have exterminated them all.
it is not a glass knife?!?!
@@joex yeah
@tundrarunner69 Well then, they missed a few because I'm chumash.
this guy needs to test all knives. I wouldn't buy a knife unless it stood up to this guy's testing...
thanks, cool!
3 Carlsburgs for Joe ... Hey Joe, You prefer the ESEE 6 better than the ESEE 5? The Thickness of the 5 is a quarter inch where the 6 has a thinner blade also your destruction tests seemed to favor the ESEE 5... It is more expensive as well, so not sure. it would be great to get an ESEE 6 in 1/4 inch. We need more testers like you for all sorts of products. you should work at some department that rejects applications to sell products. Isn't that what councils and governments are supposed to be doing...what the hell are they doing other than collecting taxes and building toll roads and buying parking ticket uniforms? They really are voided.
thanks! ESEE 6 i like more!
governments: Do not trust them at all!
Great Bowie and video
thanks!
Man, I'm surprised it lasted till the Iron Rod. Granted, It seems to be made of the steel and have the same temper as the 1849 Rifleman's knife, But the fullers the 1917 bowie have made it weaker.
I wonder how one without the fullers would do against the almighty Iron Rod?
it is the best "made in india" so far!
The fullers actually give it more rigidity, just like an I-beam.
@@Spitfire7 Despite what you may have read on some dirt track racing forum, "speed holes" do NOT make anything stronger.
Solid bars are always stronger, just if you have the option of distributing the same mass over a wider area then you get a better ratio of strength to weight.
@@budthecyborg4575 nope. I didn't read it on a forum, it's actually my job. An I-beam is factually more rigid than a solid steel beam of the same weight. Lightening holes are a completely different thing than fullers.
@@Spitfire7 Great reply
Wow very impress by this blade
I like high carbon steel. This one did pretty good 🇦🇹 🇳🇿
yes it did!!!!!
This bowie did so well because it is made by Windlass Steelcrafts in India. They make a lot of cold steels knives and swords. You'll notice that the tag says 1080 steel instead of 1055. Windlass doesnt make stuff out of 1055. For some reason cold steel thinks a soft 1055 would be preferable and markets many of their products as such that are actually 1060, 1080, or 1095.
this one was good! the other Indian blades not so much!
One of more beautifull sounding break at iron rod.
i love that sound!
Yep, did pretty damn good. If this thing had some Micarta ergonomic hand scales or one of those CS rubber handles, that would be just fine with me!. 👍🗡💥
yeah i was thinking the same about the handle!
Great test
thanks a lot!

I've just brought a black bear bowie planing on making it sharper than a Katana . Will buy 16 Gauge Dark Steel Round Shield with spike on it and a Medieval War Hammer - 13th - 15th Century Historically Accurate. I read a lot of history books Todd Cutler , & Raven Forge makes some affordable fighting bowie knives.
awesome!
That's tough ass blade. 🗡️👍🔪

Every time I watch Joe's videos everybody thinks that I'm watching weird hardcore porn by the sounds of it which is a good thing because watching Joe nearly killing himself every time just for the sake of destroying some sharpened piece of steel would be much harder to justify
it is poooorn!!! with fanboys!!!!

The Frontier Bowie is a formidable blade. Unfortunately for me, I can’t purchase one in the state in which I live, as it’s illegal to own a knife with a blade that’s over 12 inches in length. On top of that, I’m not sure what cleaning method I should use to polish the blade.
ok cool!
Wow, this performed way beyond my expectations, it's even 1085 and not 1075.
Put a rubber handle on this and it would be a perfect BOB knife.
it is 1080 !
@@joex The Cold Steel website lists 1085 but the difference between 1080/1085 is basically just margin of error.
i know about that, thats why i hold the "tag" in the video 2 times!!!!
@@joex Good catch.
