We should acknowledge the fact that in a country like India where social discrimination on the basis of caste is still prevalent, reservation is a necessity to ensure equal opportunities to everyone. But here, we are talking about ‘increase’ in reservation for ‘postgraduate’ seats. Now, the total reserved seats for postgraduate courses is nearly 65% and only 35% is open for the general category. All those who are competing for pg entrance exam have already completed their MBBS course and all participants have availed relatively same quality education and have earned the prefix ‘dr’. Exam takes into consideration of only pure knowledge which everyone had an equal chance of obtaining. Utmost 50% reservation is agreeable and is in fact applaudable in a country like India. But more than that feels like taking away the rightful opportunity of general category especially for pg courses.
But no one even cares ! Bcz the general category students aren't eligible for a fair play.
Reservation as you mentioned is for representation of that particular community in a particular area.They already have reservation for MBBS UG examinations where they become a part to represent the medical profession.From there on out the need for reservation is actually less.50% reservation as you mentioned in a pg seat is too much to be honest in my opinion.

MBBS graduate (who was given UG seat reservation) even after completing the course and securing her/his professional degree and is still categorised as ‘backward’ and is being offered reservation. We are just letting this vicious circle of social injustice to continue and create an even more unfair social system in the future.

Reservation is intended for those who are neglected basic facilities due to social reason. Nowadays this is not found(atleast government provides these, least case scenario), it's is economics which keep people away. What government should do is expand thier coaching facilities and scholarship for various exam. It's true in competitive exam their exists inequality because of money not social things.
Just check the caste wise list of professors from prominent institutions in India, then u will know

present reservation system is not creating equal grounds but just reversing the roles. The general category or the so called advantaged community of the past ,which is still the majority in terms of population is now being placed at the marginalized group’s situation. That is just doing more injustice and frank inequality. Some 5-10years down the lane the roles are just gonna switch between the marginalised and advantaged. As the size of the majority is greater in number the hardships and injustice,the majority is gonna face is far more pathetic than the past. Theres no hope of equality in this system. Its just repaying the hardship or maybe knowingly creating an even more difficult situation.
Those who advocate for this unfair and unscientific reservation system is just ignorant or graciously trying to cover the truth.

Just explain to me how an MBBS doctor remains tagged as a backward/marginalised community. Atleast PG examinations must be an equal competetion field.
We are not completely against reservation. We are just trying to enlighten the grave injustice currently in place and is being supported blindly.
The whole reservation system currently in place is failing not just the deserving majority, the current system back stabs the very marginalised. Just see who avails these benefits mostly.
For example NEET UG,MBBS reservation seats at present are majorly claimed by children of those doctors who passed out through this reservation system. Just because of the caste certificate they hold. Kindly enlighten me the oppression faced by kids of those doctors in comparison to a common man’s child.
And we still reserve them seats for their PG too. Bravo! That was a real social uplifting strategy.
For your information the real deserving backward community is still struggling at the same time.

Wealth should be considered before granting reservation atleast in selection procedures where there is no human intervention such as multiple choice exams where machines evaluate the answersheet.
