Great guide and very good tips for Janna players. A nice tip I would like to mention is when retreating from ganks If you charge your Q so it shoots into your retreat path. If you get collapsed you can release but also enemies from your rear slow thier advance attempting to avoid its usual path and instead get caught as they move past its windup location
As someone who just got Janna from a capsule, this video was super useful. I'm a support main who's hardstruck Bronze at the moment. I'm so close to Silver I can smell it. It's so hard finding simple but in depth videos on champs. You kept it short, sweet and simple yet gave enough info to proc my interest in Janna. I did not realize that Janna scales so much with the health and shield. I'm just now learning the potential of Glacial and Moonstone too lol. They've always been good builds but I never quite grasped the immense potential. Granted, I fell in love with Glacial when I first got Rell. It was because of that high skill champ that I finally learned how to play Leona (and Nautilus for that matter). You earned a sub from me. 👏👌

Another great trick that hasn't been mentioned here is the following: When running away from enemies, you can cast your Q in the direction of your escape path. As soon as the enemy walks over it, you can knock them up with a partially or even fully charged tornado, resulting in double or more knockup when compared to instant casting at the enemy. They won't have a chance to dodge it without a big sidestep, since it will always cross your champion if you flee in a straight line away from the tornado.

My usual rune page is the same main keystone as you, but I usually go free boots and Cosmic Insight. Secondary I go Resolve with Font of Life, Revitalize, and then double AP and then either armor or MR.
I think Font of Life is a fantastic rune especially with glacial but its a little greedy to go. I'd rather be tankier and harder to kill than to give more healing to my team. I really dislike going free boots because I feel like you should only go that rune if you are going to constantly stay in lane. In higher ELO, you will be roaming A LOT and not having boots is a really big difference. As for Cosmic, I really think time warp tonic is the secret tech. Double AP is fine especially after they buffed her AP ratios.
Do u think the Elias Echo item is more valuable than moonstone ? I like to play Shurelias too depends on the team. Great guide btw really interresting. ( Sorry for bad english )
Would you ever build Shurelya on Janna? Thats pretty much my go to on her bk late game her shield has such a low cd so you proc the passive so often. Its like perma ms for you and any teammate.

Majority of the top Jannas run Moonstone and i think its the most optimal but I know one challenger Janna who swears by Shurelya's so its def playable/useful. Personally I only build Shurelya's against Olaf and Olaf only. Def not a low elo opinion!
now that chemtech has been nerfed hard, what do you think is the best 2nd item to go for after moonstone? also do u think frozen heart still is interesting given the changes to it? 10 more armor, more expensive to buy tho, and i think a part of its 2nd component has been changed too
I was actually recently thinking font of life would not be bad. I used to run it in the past and the amount you heal per game was at least 1k+ so its def viable. I will have to test it out and see how it feels. Magical boots are bad on majority of supports with the exception of very strong 2v2 lanes (Senna/TK, Nami/Lucian). The reason is that you miss out on a lot of roam opportunities in the early/mid game and you sort of "lane lock" yourself. In higher ranks, a lot of games are decided based on early/mid game roams from the support. At the highest level of play every second counts and roaming with no boots and boots makes a very big difference in who arrives at a fight first and how the outcome of that fight plays out.
I do not recommend that item on Janna and honestly on any enchanters. Everytime I build it, I am always disappointed with the stats it gives to my team.

Janna's not worth playing when the enemy team has a lot of poke because you wont be able to peel anything. As for lane her hard counters are Champions that have a lot of range like zyra, karma, xerath

There is never a situation when you would put two points in q early. You don't want to start E for a better leash because its not worth being able to do nothing in lane. I recommend starting Q or W and using it to leash. If you run spell thiefs starting item, you will have full mana once you come back to lane.

@@ameookami5661 no worries, and great observation! I like going 3 points in w then e max in laning match ups where I can poke a lot (melee match ups/yuumi lane). Leveling up w is nice because you get more movement speed on the passive and more damage. Unfortunately after 12.12 w got nerfed but it’s still a very viable skill path to go.

I used to run domination second tree last season, but I found that Resolve is consistently better. It is a lot better for Janna to be harder to kill, than for her to have more utility/speed.
You can definitely climb on her in bronze 4. Honestly, you can climb with anyone in any elo it’s just that in lower elo it’s a lot easier to climb with mages because you will be able to carry solo. The problem with playing enchanters is that you have to rely on your team, and in bronze your teammates are usually bad. Here are some win rates on support chanpions in bronze u.gg/lol/support-tier-list?rank=bronze . If you enjoy playing janna I’d recommend just picking her! Don’t worry too much about champ win rates, find a champ you enjoy and you will be able to climb!
All Janna’s swear by either aery/glacial. Personally, I think glacial has a lot more utility and kill pressure than aery, but each has their own pros and cons.
Janna was my FIRST Lvl 7 support Champ, and I climbed into plat with her during the early ardent censer days 🥲 nowadays I hardly ever play her for other meta relevant champs like yuumi/taric/bard. But I might swing back into her after watching your breakdown

Yes! I do that occasionally but I think if you have glacial up its not worh the risk of missing the tornado

The only exception I build shurlyas on janna is against an Olaf. I think moonstone is the most optimized support mythic you can go on janna!
