sensible guide.I main support and with my observation if the chemistry with an adc is too good to break and mid is doing good, with good vision control early game and fast pushing it hastens the scenario where bot tower is gone therefore 1-3-1 can be achieved immediately. But this guide is a a really good supplement to what i do,If i have an Ez or some other ones that have some form of escape mechanism in their kit, along with few other reasons mentioned why roaming will be beneficial, then i may have to leave bot and at least try to achieve important objectives(it has to be more meaningful than what will be lost if i leave adc).I don't do that in ideally me(as an opinion or habit) as most of the time staying with adc after some risk assessment specially in unranked games,is more beneficial and will result in less emotional repercussion to the team, and also due to maybe because i have a bias with ADC as it used to be my main and i know how frustrating it is not to have" action" and have to play safe when left against 2 opponents.
Im a platinum jg main and i went on my cousin's bronze acc to learn how to play supp. Before the game starts i type positive stuff like "let's get this dub guys" or "glhf." From what I've learned smurfing from bronze to gold is that you should try and support your team's mental as well by saying supportive words when they make a play like "gj" or "wp faker," and consoling when they do bad plays.
Don't we all just love being support when your ADC going 0/3 by 10 min, and then suddenly decide he is superman, and dives without a warning into crowd of 3 fullhealth enemy champs (botlane+jg), cause he has his first item completed and R ready... Then OBVIOUSLY he start pingspamming you, cause you didn't dive in after him...
I can fully confirm that roaming as support is one of the hardest things up to plat (possibly at higher ranks as well). If you roam, you will get ping spammed, flamed, your adc will die, your solo laners will ping you because of exp, you will find it hard to gank, you will likely get jumped by the enemy jungler/team, and your jungler is possibly the only teammate that won’t actually annoy or flame you as long as you don’t take camps.
I remember today, I played as Sona for the first time and 2 of my teammates (Darius and Ezreal) afked the first 2 mins. Miss Fortune was suprisingly good and carried top lane while I defend bot against darius ( lowkey stupid ) and a sett ( somewhat good ). 🤷♂️ We still won.
A good idea is for junglers a guide to balance their cs and ganking so they’re helping their laners but also farming enough camps for gold to buy items and keep up with the enemy jungler. You could explain this balance between multiple groups of champions like champs who need to cs more to champs who need to gank more. I think this would be a great idea for a video to have on your channel!
Most important rule in low elo sup: Dont rely on your adc upfront, check them out while they are farming and if you deem them trustworthy, you rely on him. I dont know how often we lost because we couldnt kill a solo adc as 2 because adc didnt follow engage.
@@samch9031 Just hesitated to reply to this thread since it's months old but IMO , This video is basically a how to adc. If you main supp even if you're only gold, you already understand the majority of the video and master most of these tips. BUT an adc, even high plat still don't even get the most obvious things like, a supp is meant to supp a team, not an afk farming bot that gets caught 24/7 and yeah the support has more carry potential than most adcs If only ADCs would learn what a supp does life would be easier
“You are not tied to your lain” unless a particular streamer says “would you like a two week vacation” in which case this is irrelevant and Riot will straight up ban you. Regardless I know you are right that you shouldn’t be tied to your lane and I appreciate hearing it, I just wish Riot is as well. Anyway thank you for the guide, it is one I have been waiting for and I really appreciate it.
This is an excellent guide, It's really easy to understand; direct instructions; tackled most points a support may need; and is really easy to follow .. I have some questions regarding to some points tho, and if you ever noticed my comment please, I need your help ;P Question #1 tho I'm not new in support roles since I've been a support for 6 years now, but, it is just recently that I've heard about the word "peel", I may have been doing that but have no Idea what it's called, but still, in my opinion knowing what " peeling" really means would actually help me in my games. Question #2 Is it okay for a support main like me to make the shot calls for the team?? and if it is, how do I make my team listen?? I have been struggling with this one quite a lot ever since, I know for my self that I'm really good at long term predictions, (not bragging), i can pretty much predict where the enemy jungler is, what's our laning opponent's next move, and basically the movement of the map as whole, I made it possible through basic calculations, map awareness, and keeping in mind of those time intervals, with that said, I think I can make the shot calls for the team but is struggling how to make them listen :< that's all my question for now, I hope you guys respect every aspect I'm struggling with, and you are free to scold me, I am doing this to improve, I want to improve!! Please help me :< That's all Thank you in advance!!
q1: stunning assassin's who want to kill adc , staying near adc blocking skillshots q2 yes. by making good calls, they will follow often. Also by walking/ leading in direction and don't whine or not compromise if they don't cooperate
Well, useful video, I'll remember some things. But I really just need to practice IF I want to be better. What do you think about splitpushing as Zyra? Twin Shadows + Rylai + wards. I just hope that my team won't die. Yesterday I tried to solo Infernal. Sadly my team chased someone and all died, I had to escape from the jungler. Maybe we would've killed them if I'm there. But this is what chat or pings are for. Yet people rarely listen to others. This is why you should never ever use /mute all. Just mute the ones who spam the chat.
Senerio 1: Support - caution pings wave Adc? - afk auto shove Senerio 2: Support - pings turret & blue pings minion Adc? - freezes usually without even known what a freeze is Senerio 3: Support - doesn't have to ping
My favorite - 2020 and adcs STILL deny supports with targons cannon/melee minions. Worst is when you want to last hit it maintain a freeze. Don't tell me to ping it because that's still a 50/50. The items been in the game for years. It's better to just kill the minion as soon as its low enough so you dont fight for it or get traded on when its low only to still get denied by your adc who should be trading.
lol i usually roam when adc can safely get solo plating gold . if their item is expensive. and deep ward enemy red or blue buff depending on side. still helps out alot and jg can counter jg more and gank more for us knowing where their jg is or isn't at
Support is far from the weak role, it's actually one of the most important and the most unappreciated role. People see their ADC going 20/3 and its always "wow great job ADC" no one see's or gives props to the support who's sweating their a** off and covered in blood to ensure that their ADC didn't die and did get fed. ADC does crap and its always the Support's fault, doesn't matter if the ADC refused to Kite, constantly overextended, failed to last hit 80% of the minions, refuses to keep moving and not stand still in the open against a Blitz. An ADC with a good support and is halfway competent will almost always get fed. The side with the better Sup almost always wins bot lane. And no I'm not a Sup main, usually play Mid, Sup is my secondary as well as ADC.
The support role it's the one who must suffers from the lack of a proper VOIP for soloQ games, Laners look at their respective lanes, Junglers keep tabs on their counterpart, and Supports keep and eye on the whole game, our role isn't as mechanically, demanding as the others, and the timers that we must keep and eye on are bigger than the rest of the players, and so it's easier for Supports to become shot callers and IGL's however the lack of proper ways of in-game comunication really makes it hard for this aspect of the role to shine.
A lot of good advice you got there. On paper. But tell me please how can I as a support control the lane and freeze or slow it? I mean sure I can help the adc do so, but if he doesn't have a clue how lane control works how am I supposed to do it? Not to mention getting yelled at, once I touch just one single minion...I'm genuinely asking for advice on how to help to control the lane as a support!
Problem is solo Q, as a support that is losing lane... if we decide to go to a different lane, mid or top for instance, they will flame you and tell you to get out of their lane, especially if they are ahead, they do not want to share exp, and they do not want you to bring enemy jungle attention to their lane. So... whether its viable or not macro wise... it doesn't work like that, at least not in low elo.
This game you'll probably lose, but you don't focus on that single game. You focus on your own performance through several games. If you do well consistently, you will climb because its always guaranteed there'll be at least one good player in your team, that being yourself. In that scenario, statistically speaking, chances of your team getting the worst player in the queue is 4/9 (roughly 45%) while that chance for the enemy team is 5/9 (roughly 55%). The tenth player being yourself, and assuming you are good enough to climb, you'll automatically become one of the best, if not the best, at the queue, and guaranteed to be in your team. That being said, for you to climb, you have to be consistent. There will be games you just can't win, that happens, but those are the exception, not the rule. Take them as minor set backs, and focus on the games you can win.
I decided to play more support after getting an S- on Taric My team was mostly meh but my brother was ADC they couldn't have KDA more than 2, i had like 10,5 and my bro 20 My vision score was 30 and i did 5k damage, (my jungler did 3k so yeah) I was so satisfied
The most helpful tip is abandoning your ADC if they are too far behind. Youll give them solo xp and help get your other lanes kills before the enemy can snowball. The adc can snag kills in group fights and get back in. Staying with the adc after the lane is doomed just guarantees a loss.
Hey I love your videos but can you do one about amumu or jungeling in general bcc ppl that I'm against watch you but don't jungle like you could tell us
How would this work in lower elo? I want to get in the habit of roaming but I find it hard to do so as my adc rarely plays safe if I roam, I guess they feel like its their time to shine or something. Ive been trying to roam when the adc is gone and we had a push going, but its rare I get a lane thats pushed, an adc who either plays safe or is backed, a laner/jungler in need of a roam, or have enough resources to perform a successful roam, all at the same time.

Really changed my mindset and showed me what's possible other than grabbing playing. Ty
My first ranked as Lux in nutshell:
My adc (tristana) wouldn't let me touch minions because they were "his". He also blamed me for his death and not q enemies even though they were 360° surrounded by minions.
It was a really interesting game...
As support user and Braum main this role has huge Task for the team even in team fight you need to correct your Gameplay wisely and Protect ADC
My only job as a Support role
- help Jungle Farm at lvl 1
- Protect ADC As much as possible
- Get an assist
- Sacrifice
- Protect Jungle while They doing dragon, herald , baron
This is the guide that i waiting for!!!! Thank you PG
FINALLY! Been waiting for this so long!! Thanks alot!
When your adc is brain dead, you can ditch your partner XD
BE THE ADC *-* i went like redemption and solari to redemp and liandry's or the yellow staff(forgot the name) xD
Cuz hes trying out aphelios and making mistakes. =n=
I love support guide videos! thank you so much!
sensible guide.I main support and with my observation if the chemistry with an adc is too good to break and mid is doing good, with good vision control early game and fast pushing it hastens the scenario where bot tower is gone therefore 1-3-1 can be achieved immediately.
Any tips on how to still do freezes, slow pushing, roamings when your ADC doesn't know how to play around it? Especially wave management.
Thank you so much for doing this video , I’ve wanted this one for a while, you guys are awesome!! :) this helped a lot
Support : roams to help mid or team
ADC: Support trolling me by leaving me alone lol 😂
I remember today, I played as Sona for the first time and 2 of my teammates (Darius and Ezreal) afked the first 2 mins.
Miss Fortune was suprisingly good and carried top lane while I defend bot against darius ( lowkey stupid ) and a sett ( somewhat good ). 🤷♂️ We still won.
My God, they actually made a video for supports
Support role is one of the important roles that can make u win
I really enjoy your videos, they're very helpful, appreciate it man
Since I’ve started practice my vision, I‘ve improved a lot in not dying 😌👏🏻 thx for the tipps
"you're not tied to your lane" poor nubrac
love your analysis! it makes a lot sense to my playstyle as well.
Love this useful guides pro guides! Keep it up!
Thank you so much, i will support your support! ❤️🙌🏻
FINALLY! THANK YOU PRO GUIDES!!! 😍😍❤❤
Most important rule in low elo sup:
Dont rely on your adc upfront, check them out while they are farming and if you deem them trustworthy, you rely on him. I dont know how often we lost because we couldnt kill a solo adc as 2 because adc didnt follow engage.
Some of these adcs get butthurt when you roam because it means they're not the win condition and that hurts their feelings
Ty! I’m a main suport Gold I and I hope this guide help me to reach Platinum
It will be helpful even into diamond. I'm plat 1 and even at plat 1 my ADC won't understand this concept.
@@samch9031
Just hesitated to reply to this thread since it's months old but IMO ,
This video is basically a how to adc. If you main supp even if you're only gold, you already understand the majority of the video and master most of these tips.
BUT an adc, even high plat still don't even get the most obvious things like, a supp is meant to supp a team, not an afk farming bot that gets caught 24/7 and yeah the support has more carry potential than most adcs
If only ADCs would learn what a supp does life would be easier
idk how to thank ya. this was sooo helpeful , thanks alot :)
I have some questions regarding to some points tho, and if you ever noticed my comment please, I need your help ;P
Question #1
tho I'm not new in support roles since I've been a support for 6 years now, but, it is just recently that I've heard about the word "peel", I may have been doing that but have no Idea what it's called, but still, in my opinion knowing what " peeling" really means would actually help me in my games.
Question #2
Is it okay for a support main like me to make the shot calls for the team?? and if it is, how do I make my team listen??
I have been struggling with this one quite a lot ever since, I know for my self that I'm really good at long term predictions, (not bragging), i can pretty much predict where the enemy jungler is, what's our laning opponent's next move, and basically the movement of the map as whole, I made it possible through basic calculations, map awareness, and keeping in mind of those time intervals, with that said, I think I can make the shot calls for the team but is struggling how to make them listen :<
that's all my question for now, I hope you guys respect every aspect I'm struggling with, and you are free to scold me, I am doing this to improve, I want to improve!!
Please help me :<
That's all Thank you in advance!!
q1: stunning assassin's who want to kill adc , staying near adc blocking skillshots
q2 yes. by making good calls, they will follow often. Also by walking/ leading in direction and don't whine or not compromise if they don't cooperate
Make a video about how to team fight effectively.
Yeah so many people need this knowledge.
ProGuises:Uploades supp video
Me:YEAAAAAAAAAAA BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
That thresh not picking up the soul behind the tower around 9:30 irks me
"Despite what your botlaner might say, you are not tied to your lane"... is that directed at the NB3/nubrac situation lmao
probably those that looks at bards that needs the chimes
Well, useful video, I'll remember some things. But I really just need to practice IF I want to be better.
What do you think about splitpushing as Zyra? Twin Shadows + Rylai + wards. I just hope that my team won't die.
Yesterday I tried to solo Infernal. Sadly my team chased someone and all died, I had to escape from the jungler. Maybe we would've killed them if I'm there. But this is what chat or pings are for. Yet people rarely listen to others. This is why you should never ever use /mute all. Just mute the ones who spam the chat.
what is that champion with that jetpack skin at 7:48 pls?
Kaisa
Senerio 1:
Support - caution pings wave
Adc? - afk auto shove
Senerio 2:
Support - pings turret & blue pings minion
Adc? - freezes usually without even known what a freeze is
Senerio 3:
Support - doesn't have to ping
My favorite - 2020 and adcs STILL deny supports with targons cannon/melee minions. Worst is when you want to last hit it maintain a freeze. Don't tell me to ping it because that's still a 50/50. The items been in the game for years. It's better to just kill the minion as soon as its low enough so you dont fight for it or get traded on when its low only to still get denied by your adc who should be trading.
FUCKING FINALLY! A SUPPORT MACRO GUIDE!
lol i usually roam when adc can safely get solo plating gold . if their item is expensive. and deep ward enemy red or blue buff depending on side. still helps out alot and jg can counter jg more and gank more for us knowing where their jg is or isn't at
SAME! More people need to do this, it is just so effective at gaining gold and pushing towards a win. ❤️
Yay! Finally! :) Thank you!
This is what I want, ty guys!

That caught me off guard, and I was starting to zone out.
How to win a 1v9 game
I mean if ur team is feeding and dont know how to play the game
"and dont know how to play the game"
Maybe fix this first then worry about "muh team"?
Al B he was saying that the team does not know how to play. Not that he does not know.
@@shacolin6546 This.
@@kroneexe I have no input in the conversation but I agree so I just write "this".
Genuinely support each other
You start taking minions you see your adc is gonna miss, then you take one accidentally they would actually kill. Incoming ping spam.
i would really love a laning phase guide
FINALLY A SUPPORT GUIDEE
I decided to play more support after getting an S- on Taric
My team was mostly meh but my brother was ADC they couldn't have KDA more than 2, i had like 10,5 and my bro 20
My vision score was 30 and i did 5k damage, (my jungler did 3k so yeah)
I was so satisfied

Finally. It’s been ages.
The most helpful tip is abandoning your ADC if they are too far behind. Youll give them solo xp and help get your other lanes kills before the enemy can snowball. The adc can snag kills in group fights and get back in. Staying with the adc after the lane is doomed just guarantees a loss.
Me playing support: okay I'm just gonna roam a bit and support other lanes
My adc: •doesn't carry•
Me: SMELLS LIKE RABABON DEATHCAP IN HERE•
Hey I love your videos but can you do one about amumu or jungeling in general bcc ppl that I'm against watch you but don't jungle like you could tell us

Guide on how to deal with an ADC that decides to engage 1v2 when i’m roaming.
Me as Yumii: Helps the Jungler in a gank cause he's my duo and that makes more sense than just staying in bot

Genuine question, as a support if i don't feed on bot lane and leave kills to the ADC so he's fed, how am I supposed to feed????
