Yet another great video Karl, please keep them coming, the way you go through everything is pretty much exactly as "we users" would experience them, hence they are a real 1st impression video which is what I love about your videos.
One thing I notice about this bracing kit with the way you've mounted it (with the slotted part of the brace "downwards" towards the seat) is that any excess in length is going to be very close to (perhaps even RUBBING) your leg, whereas if you were to mount it the other way round, with the single hole at the SEAT & the slot up at the DECK the excess (assuming it doesn't impact the deck itself) would simply be pointing up in the air.
Please bear in mind I am writing this LIVE as I watch your video, so forgive me if you cover this later on (I'm currently at 8:28 where you are just fitting the bracing.)
Just reached 12:29 where you say about having a 3rd "mounting point" to stop the rotational forces being transferred & thus allowing the "articulation" you refer to. Looking at the setup I wonder (once you have mounted it & found your "sweet spot" for how & where you want it oriented) if you were to drill a hole through from the INSIDE out passing through the brace bar & the VERTICAL bar of the DECK mount (in the video this would be just infront of your knee) this would give you that 3rd mount & thus stop any "articulation / rotation".
Another thing I notice as you were then driving is that it APPEARS that your thigh & knee are very close to the bolt where the bracing attaches to the seat down by the locking clamp & I was thinking that to reduce any chance of your knee or thigh getting rubbed by those bolts, if you were to turn the bolts the other way round so that the flat head is on the INSIDE nearest to you & then have the nut on the OUTSIDE so it's away from your leg.

I have the extended bar stabilizer (and almost everything else Lowdown makes ie: pedal deck, chassis brace, shifter mount, e-brake mount etc.) on my PSC and I love it. All the mods I have made the chair much heavier and the “foldability” is not so simple anymore but I don’t care. I have a cranked up T-GT and T3PA pro pedals with cone mods so I can’t comment on a DD and load cell combo but she’s pretty solid and I’m not gentle with it. All of lowdown’s stuff is very high quality steel not cheap 3D printed plastic hence the weight. Installing the steering brace does expose the biggest weak point: the pivot/hinge. I did buy the Indigo Lime overpriced 3D printed piece of plastic to beef up that pivot point and it actually worked quite well in conjunction with all the other goodies. My PSC has gone from “entry level” to “entry level ++” I’m a casual racer so it’s great for me. Now if I could not be 6’5” tall that would make it even better 🙄

With regard to track-based racing sims, my favourites are Assetto Corsa Competizione, which has a decent career mode, and RaceRoom (which is all about online racing, no career). Thank you for showing this improvement. Though i was just watching out of curiosity, as i don't have a PlaySeat Challenge xD ... Also i have one small suggestion: If you mount the "clamps" upside down, so that the straight part faces down, you would create a steeper angle for the support rods, which would in return result in less angular momentum on the bolts. This should improve the stiffness even more.

And you are correct, 180 degree to what you see is the one :)
Every product has to have key factors & specific principles in design. Whilst working with very tight restrictions & limitations.
The main focus in principle is not to ever compromise the core products design integrity but enhance it.
Next is weight - Now a massive factor due to what is going on with the EU Cartel. And delivery/shipping added costs.
Cost is one of the biggest considerations. More parts, extra components = Increased costs. Which have to be obviously passed down the line understandably.
Logically if the cost of a product + all the extra charges many are now going to have to pay, will in turn affect the customers ultimate decision process.

The 3D printed support bar I designs looks like it's pretty comparable to the LDS brace. I ran into the same issue he did as well, as soon as the wheel deck is stabile then the rotating arm becomes a weak point. I'm still working on a way to fix that though that one seems much trickier without using some form of metal brace that restricts movement.

I’ve recently bought the playseat challenge as I felt it was the best all round option for my size and the space I have available but wanted to know what mod kits I should buy on their to cover me for the equipment I plan to get.
I’d like to get the Fanatec DD Pro of course but the cost of the product, import fees, VAT, handling etc with no financing options is stopping me from getting it.

Not sure how Karl has done it, but I stripped the circuit board from the Logitech wheel, disconnecting everything that drove the wheel itself (and binned the wheel parts), leaving only the shifter and pedal wires in place. The back of the clamp i think it should be facing downwards and not upwards from the inside so that the the bracket that mounts on it could go from the down side of this cornered steel. It would also have fewer degrees angle where these 2 parts mount to flex with, therefore it could give you like 10% more rigidity. Perhaps maybe more than 10% or a bit less than that.
But yeah, i think anything you do to the Playseat Challenge it should give it more stability.
