And on that topic, if you see this type of thing, _please_ do report it. (To report players, go to the lobby terminal, Battle Logs, find the match with the player in question, and then press the minus button.) There won’t be any repercussions for these behaviors if you do nothing.
I've actually reported some of my own or the enemy's teammates whenever I go through replays. I like to skim over everyone's play at least once to get an idea of perspective. Having the last 2 minutes of the match be just you shriveling in a corner after the enemy scored an objective or you died three times in a row is an immediate red flag.

Yeah, i've seen too many people, even in Turf War, just keep jumping off the map instead of disconnecting. And if you're really afraid of getting timed out from matchmaking, you probably need that timeout.
Because of your videos (mainly) I now control my feelings and I don't get too angry/tilted/frustrated to the point of intentionally throwing. Sometimes I may put the controller down for 5s to get a hold of my self and then continue. If I'm too annoyed to the point I don't want to deal with it, I'll close the console/game, then come back to start the eventual time penalty and close the game again. But it's a rare thing this days
had to report someone from X battles yesterday because they kept spamming "This Way!" and jumping off the map at spawn when we lost the first push in rainmaker museum........
The beauty of online gaming is that some people want their teammates to suffer and lose ranks because of them. 1. They want EVERYONE to lose rank points 2. They think they're teammates are the reason they lost These people are irredeemable
Is there not a punishment system for people who just grief the game like that? And I’m not talking about Rage quitting. I’m talking like a punishment with main protagonist syndrome, you make one mistake and they don’t think you deserve to win so they start trolling.
Look this is completely unrelated to the video but I wholeheartedly believe that the big swig roller is a better main weapon than the dynamo roller. The kits do NOT count, if they did the dynamo would win by 100%
There have been times where I get so upset about the campers/throwers, that I just end up leaving the game. I know it messes things up for me rank-wise (ESPECIALLY in series) and makes me wait 10 minutes before I can play, but at least the other teammates don't have to get punished for the douchebag chilling at the base spamming booyah. These people are straight up ruining the fun of the game for others man
Whenever this happens, I report them for intentionally not contributing. I'm so tired of ragequitters man. No matter how much we're losing just take the L. Splatoon matches aren't even that long, you can tough it out bro.
Ok somtimes when my character is standing there sometimes my internet and or im doing something with my controllers so please dont report pepole all that much
Ah, the classic "my team was terrible. They didn't deserve to win anyway" mentality. At that point, you really gotta take a step back and look at what you are doing.
I had someone rage quit on me during x rank where he just started shooting me the last minute of the game and then in the very next game we get paired up together and he goes straight into throwing the first minute or two in this game as well. It was a little frustrating but I just felt bad for my teammate probably wondering why this guy is throwing out the gate lol
Imo you should finish your matches, it's only 1 minute max. Your teammates don't deserve to just lose because now it's unfairly 3 v 4. They pull through, you pull through. Ya gotta learn to not drag teammates into your ragequit. Besides that, you might get a LONG online downtime if you intentionally quit.
I hate when I’m playing casual turf war and I geta bad team composition like 2 snipers, a splatling, and a brush and then some of the people just stay at spawn
so - in short *pun not intended* having someone/or yourself disconnect during a match or at the end, given if you’re salty if you’re loosing, slightly benefits you’re team, because of the disconnect we don’t lose points - though the person that disconnects, potentially gets the chance to get banned for 10 minutes :) just an explanation here-
Some people play for fun and some people play to get better. No matter what kind of player you are, it's normal that sometimes you aren't happy with games and that things don't go well. But it's logical that people who play to get better will be angry more often. It can be extremly frustrating if you aren't making any progress and that frustration can make people angry very easily.
It's a common problem for most people but also this is something where putz12 is has. He's the angriest Splatoon gamer ever. I wouldn't say he rage quit but he does get mad when he loses a lot.
Yes but if you ragequit from the game and the whole game stops because of it, I think it means that you should NOT PLAY. You just ruined the game for all the other people who were playing.
One of the biggest things I've had to teach myself was to stop playing competitive games before I get too upset about things not going my way. Too many times have I not stopped 5 minutes ago and it has cost me time spent trying to calm back down from seething rage and money from failing to do so.
Ok but what if it’s the last three seconds of the match and there’s no way we can possibly win since the opponents hold objective and we all just respawned? Can I booyah in base then?

Oh hey, I was in that game lol. Yeah, idk if that Dynamo player is here, but for you, and everyone else, giving up but staying in the lobby is a great way to get reported.
And on that topic, if you see this type of thing, _please_ do report it. (To report players, go to the lobby terminal, Battle Logs, find the match with the player in question, and then press the minus button.) There won’t be any repercussions for these behaviors if you do nothing.
Don't ask why, but somehow I thought you would say "Just do it within the first minute so your team mates don't have to play out the match."
I've actually reported some of my own or the enemy's teammates whenever I go through replays. I like to skim over everyone's play at least once to get an idea of perspective. Having the last 2 minutes of the match be just you shriveling in a corner after the enemy scored an objective or you died three times in a row is an immediate red flag.
i was in salmon run; playing with my brother who’s a lower tier than me (so i wouldn’t be able to get promoted), but we entered this one match with a player who stood around doing absolutely nothing, and our other teammate decided to follow their footsteps too. most annoying thing ever. i got demoted. it’s so annoying, especially in salmon run & ranked games.
Bold of you to assume people who are in a middle of a rage quit can think clearly
I'm not asking for them to think clearly then but to have a plan while they're thinking clearly that they can remember at some point when they're not. It's like emergency preparedness
@@SquidSchool I want to be at your side on this, but then I look at players like Putz....and just lose all hope they can even remotely have the capability to prepare a contingency plan for rage or heated situations
Bro must've had a bad match that lead to this
I'm the shot on the winning team in this clip
@@SquidSchooli see! Dont mind me projecting what i would do lol
Do these shorts usually stem from reviewing specific matches? I'll be honest i dont think ive made the connection that the footage was relevant till now lol i just assumed you had a list of topics you work through and the footage was just random clips you had saved 😅
a gold handful of mvm players could use this advice tbh
As someone who tilts easily, usually doesn't realize it until the breaking point mid-match, and hyper-fixates on trying to get the "daily win" for the catalog bonus, i'll have to remember that this is an option. If i see this happening, i usually just play turf war for as long as i can though.
(Note: i probably *am* improving; but with the frequent losing streaks, or not being able to break out of B-, it usually doesn't feel like it; even if they're offset by the number of times i got my "daily win" on the first try.)
(Edit: for some reason, it also kept moving the "comment" button somewhere i couldn't see it, so i had to make a placeholder post and edit it after)
I'd more say, instead of leaving mod match (which they punish you for) just play little worse, just to the point where if you get killed you're not as angry.
This way it doesn't completely kill the match, unless you're in a private match, then just leave, I dont think it punishes you for leaving a private match
This is also dating advice
sometimes we're about to lose so I quit so the game doesn't count for my teammates 😭 also I have rage issues
This dynamo makes me sick. How could you do that to your own team?! This is why i never ragequit, its evil! 😢
as a Dynamo main I dont claim them
Had a jr do this to me the other day
I do struggle with my past rage quits from the game like one of the games is unfair for me, like Zones, I do not like this mode.
Also one rage quit is Zones PB with a “Tetra Octoling Girl” wish I don’t want to mention it.
I am 28, I just did just take a break instead of permanently quitting Splatoon, because I dropped out 3 seasons of Splatoon 3 due to mental health and my health issues from February 2024.
Still trying to change the mindset after my rage struggles and matchmaking troubles.
Just want to make sure I don’t break crap.
Very true
we all must suffer. 🎉
How is every single one of his videos Splatoon advice and dating advice at the same time?
I've had to do this 3 times during Salomon run, not because of a souring mood. But because of folk coming to change the boiler and fit solar panels.
The worst part is if youvloose cuz they didnt dc then you're put in a bad mindset cuz if they wernt gonna play the very least they could have done was not force my rank to get affected
Yeah, i've seen too many people, even in Turf War, just keep jumping off the map instead of disconnecting. And if you're really afraid of getting timed out from matchmaking, you probably need that timeout.
I only do that when we just got wiped out with 10 seconds left lmaoo
Because of your videos (mainly) I now control my feelings and I don't get too angry/tilted/frustrated to the point of intentionally throwing. Sometimes I may put the controller down for 5s to get a hold of my self and then continue. If I'm too annoyed to the point I don't want to deal with it, I'll close the console/game, then come back to start the eventual time penalty and close the game again. But it's a rare thing this days
(no solo match was putted in risk during the production of this video)
There's a 10 minute wait, so players wouldn't want to wait before cueing up again. Granted if they're rage quitting, they shouldn't be cueing up again
Better idea: Nintendo removes the "hammer" from Turf War. Salmon Run, Anarchy, X, sure. Not Turf War.
preach
Facts
had to report someone from X battles yesterday because they kept spamming "This Way!" and jumping off the map at spawn when we lost the first push in rainmaker museum........
I’ve played against this person too 💀
The beauty of online gaming is that some people want their teammates to suffer and lose ranks because of them.
1. They want EVERYONE to lose rank points
2. They think they're teammates are the reason they lost
These people are irredeemable
Is there not a punishment system for people who just grief the game like that? And I’m not talking about Rage quitting. I’m talking like a punishment with main protagonist syndrome, you make one mistake and they don’t think you deserve to win so they start trolling.
Why does splatoon not have backfill
I was about to ask why you were playing Dynamo Gem, but then I realized that you were on the opposing team at the end
If you cut off the internet plug, the game won't know that the disconnect was intentional.
Gem playing dynamo is something i needed
I'm not going to throw a match for my team just to get footage for a video. I'm the enemy shot.
Ok somtimes when my character is standing there sometimes my internet and or im doing something with my controllers so please dont report pepole all that much
Also please play the game when your in a match. Help in some way
Ah, the classic "my team was terrible.
100000000000000000% yes
Imo you should finish your matches, it's only 1 minute max. Your teammates don't deserve to just lose because now it's unfairly 3 v 4. They pull through, you pull through. Ya gotta learn to not drag teammates into your ragequit. Besides that, you might get a LONG online downtime if you intentionally quit.
I hate when I’m playing casual turf war and I geta bad team composition like 2 snipers, a splatling, and a brush and then some of the people just stay at spawn
so - in short *pun not intended*
having someone/or yourself disconnect during a match or at the end, given if you’re salty if you’re loosing, slightly benefits you’re team, because of the disconnect we don’t lose points - though the person that disconnects, potentially gets the chance to get banned for 10 minutes :)
just an explanation here-
if you keep losing, just remember to have fun
Wtf?, who gets angy playin splatoon. Is a squid funny game
Nah, just be a good sport and play your best till the very end. Then quit. It's 5 minutes.
YES!!!
I was playing for like 3 hours today and lost almost every single game i played
But i never threw the game, i just yelled a lot instead lmao
I don't rage very easy, but I like this advice. I would honestly rather people on my teams react this way than sit and seethe on it, y'know?
I never Disconnect mid game. When I'm raging I always wait for the end and then DC.
The trick is that if I never played on tilt, I’d never play at all.
I keep rushing to the bathroom right before a match starts and it looks like I'm throwing bc I'm js sitting there trying to hurry
I have more of a problem with people just using terrible weapons, like ink, brush, and spray
One of the biggest things I've had to teach myself was to stop playing competitive games before I get too upset about things not going my way. Too many times have I not stopped 5 minutes ago and it has cost me time spent trying to calm back down from seething rage and money from failing to do so.
I decided to take a break for 1-2 weeks. Probably gonna miss the springfest nnfortunately, but It's for a good reason
Ok but what if it’s the last three seconds of the match and there’s no way we can possibly win since the opponents hold objective and we all just respawned? Can I booyah in base then?
yeah, like, if it's physically impossible for any member of your team to reach the objective, that's different.
Or if you are in private battle, don’t end the match early, just quit playing….
