Idk what youre going through exactly but you should probably talk about this with someone close like friends and family and also talking with a psychologist, it can definitely help although its obviously not a complete answer to everything, you can do this buddy.

I believe there's mostly the same matchmaking in series for people in the same base rank, doesn't matter much if it's a + or a -, cuz it always felt like a jump when I upgraded the letter. S and S+ are different. And S+ might divide further with S+1-10 and S+11-50 groups, though I have no experience with the last category yet.

There's no shortage of clips telling fewer people means you have to comb through less of them

Im a hydra splatling main and im ngl, I would love something other than autobomb booyah. Its a decent kit but after nearly 200 wins with it (according to splatnet) its getting stale lmao
I would play heavy or ballpoint or something but they're hard to adjust to due to lack of range

Plus, the special button on my JoyCons is broken, so until I get my pro controller which is arriving in a few days, I have to rely ENTIRELY on the main and sub.

I've been underranked (imo) for so long I can just immediately tell when and where someone is in 2000-2400 because soloq has issues :/

an interesting things to keep in mind with this series; in splat3 at the start of the game you have the option to carry over your splat2 rank, probably so you'll match with people near your skill level. was a S in splat2 (got it at the end of its life, i was a flingza in zones), carried it over, and now im severely struggling in B rank because of it. or maybe im just bad lmao

My recommendation for this series is to find a way to gameify it, especially if you have guests on later (so you can compete with yourself/each other). For instance, the goal could be to score as low as possible, where the score you gain each round is equal to the point difference between the rank you guess, and the actual rank.

Solo is hell for tetras imo.
Rarely is it seen for people to push with you and back you up.
Lower ranks get more severe as there's less and less teamwork.
Never saw this serie before but this is cool and you're doing some coaching in the meantime I really think it's a cool idea

do you have any tips for slower weopens like dynamo? also what should i practice in general?
I do have one. There is a tech you can do that if you input zr and a squid roll at nearly the same time (you'll get timing down with practice) you gain a lot faster aerial mobility while horizontal flicking. Gear wise is up to you but I would say swim speed is highly recommended as well as LDE

I was around 2300-2400 last game and don't play too much ranked anymore but if you want to send me a replay code I can try to analyze a couple things if you want (I'm assuming you have the mechanical skill for S+ but are likely a lone wolf type player at least)

Is it so hard to believe someone's X-Rank might not reflect their actual ability though? I know I don't really play X-Rank at all because I generally hate it, no one knows how to synergize with explosher so I just stick to doing anarchy open with friends on comms. X-Rank is silly and the comps they give you are unrealistic comps (I often get double or triple backline) you wouldn't run in a competitive environment. It's not an accurate representation of your ability. Point is overall, your real ceiling is how well you play with a coordinated team and I'm sure a lot of these people here with unexpectedly low X-Ranks probably do the same thing I do and don't play X-Rank often.

I just met a player pretending to be ProChara while playing stamper in Open Anarchy, I can most definitely assure you it was not ProChara XD
This was great, sadly I'm a C- & it shows, I'm like at B in 2 & like B-B+ in 1, I think I got B+ in TC & possibly Zones but I suck at Rainmaker, I'm probably a B- at best in that mode, so happy they lumped it all into one going forward, when I hit around B rank in 2, I was satisfied since I didn't see improvement in my performance much which is always discouraging & while I was like what was it, B- at the beginning of 3 since I had save data in 2, I didn't play at all since I prefer turf war but been doing some Splat Zones every once in a while because it's like tiny turf war & I just like inking things. I've been playing ever since 2015 & it definitely does not show, you'd think I was lower than a C- & I actually was for a bit, had a solid losing streak when I did Zones again after not touching them for years but I'm doing better. Now that I revealed the truth, I couldn't even submit a clip if I wanted to unless I rank up & how slow I go, unlikely.
While I am terrible at the game, I did at least do decent here & there in 1, I have fond memories of Splat Zones on the maps that had 2 zones at a distance from each other like Moray Towers or Piranha Pit, using my N-Zap 89 where I would keep a sprinkler over the zone I was defending & would keep an eye on it while building up my ink strike which I'd fire over at the other zone. Typically, I hated Moray but I loved the ones that had 2 zones since I could hit both with the power of the ink strike, I like triple ink strike but man, I miss the original, too bad it relied on the gamepad to work.

I was ranking up to S- and we were in rainmaker overtime AND LOST BY FIVE POINTS. And that match Was the deciding match if I rank up or not.

The thing with X rank is you could try to estimate how good a player is and their power, but with the brella, it could just be a case of just bad matches. Skill wise, top tier.

I was X Splatoon 2, I went -1000pts in S+0 so I reset my rank to S. And S was hell at the beginning of the season, all the japanese X players that never touch S+ and got demoted to S. Even Melon, the No.1 in zones couldn't rank up to S+0 because of the insane rank-up battles in S. After a week things got better, and now I'm S+9
the second game I thought was b- bc the brush player has really lazy fingers with the brush, the kraken could have easily killed the rainmaker, and the enemy e-liter misses like 2 easy shots that an S or higher could easily hit. Brush did seem to be pretty good at positioning and use of kit at least but I didn't see the rest of the lobby reciprocate that... I'm assuming they don't main brush at least?

Anyone below 2000 typically gets +0 for their wins and has very strict limits on how high their team can be, and no limit on the other team’s X Power.
In addition people like this guy getting stuck hundreds lower than their actual skill level means actual 1900-2000 players new to X Rank like myself get -100’d from a 1 minute KO by players like this guy
