Jack and the mr black crew always go above and beyond. They make rock solid gear and take pride in originality - their Analog Chorus is an absolutely amazing machine.
@@marekw7562 I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around why people who are sitting alone in home studios making beats and sounds with whatever gear they have are calling themselves "producers". Traditionally, and still today, a Producer has always been described as the person who is in charge of the entire process of working with artists to deliver finished recordings to a label or other entity that the artist is contracted to make music for. The process that they are in charge of involves choosing locations to record in, managing a staff of engineers and assistants, writing with the artist, knowing all the gear and creatively capturing audio, mixing the audio, organizing recording schedules, organizing mastering... basically they run the entire show of producing a release. So, with all that being defined, why are people who do none of that calling themselves producers?
@@johnpaulpatton9786 And I guess authors that don't go through the usual channels can't be self-published, right? No need to gatekeep. Just because you do it yourself doesn't mean you aren't doing the work.
Greetings from Portland, where I'm watching Anderton's demo pedals from Portland. 💚 I have Jack's Bloodmoon reverb, and I absolutely love it. It's dark and goopy. Great small builder to feature!
Gated reverbs ( I believe) kinda came about, or were talked about because players wanted to change the key of a song and not have the 2 concurrent chords blend, causing a contrast in some of the notes played. It's a great tool to do many things including the way Pete described. Imagine Brian Eno and his outlook on ambiance. Makes alot of sense to develop such an effect.
Gated reverbs where used alot in late 70s early 80s post-punk, listen to Unknown pleasures by Joy division for example, that album is filled with gated verbs :) I personally love how it sounds
Love how the dual phaser combined with the distortion! May be another video could be trying out a series of pedals that work in tandem with an expression pedal.
I’d really like to see the MXR Deep Phase shot out with other phasers, maybe one of those where Pete or Rabea ranks all of them but can’t see them until the end
When I see distortion/overdrive on the menu my first reaction is "yawn". I was pleasantly surprised, both pedals had old school usability. The second was definitely Black Sabbath in a pedal.
How do you guys adjust to doing new drive/distortion pedal every day for 10 years and don't get tired and jaded about them? How do you find a fresh attitude towards them and give them a real chance?
Man, you guys have got to learn from metal. I know Rabea is your guy for it, but you’re all so talented, you should beef up your metal playing. You’d be killer at it
Hello peeps ha ha, just an idea for you'z ,. If you had 50 grand to spend what would you buy, Remember it's just a number, you have to spend all of it like a lottery winner ,?????. I was thinking what I would buy, rote out a shopping list, one thing on my list is a Gibson j200 parlor. Have fun. Djk.
9:02 I did not expect Pete to bust out Blood and Thunder by Mastodon.
Came here for the gated reverb explanation - did not disappoint! Thanks, Captain for asking and Pete for explaining.

"You're not in a band" has to be the single most savage insult a musician can give to another musician.
Well. You are not wrong. Being a solo artist/producer is fun too but it's so different experience from being a live/giging guitarist.

If you’re not in a band is not an insult. It’s just a fact. Now if you read into that statement a couple of steps then yay.
I smoked a lot of white widow in my day. It’s a good OG.
IMAGINE WHAT HENDRIX COULD DO WITH THESE BABIES, THE MIND BOGGLES, EPIC AGAIN BOYS.
thanks guys, that's F.A.B

YEP WELL BELOW THE BELT
I have the Bloodmoon in my radar but i can’t find a good review
the fact that mr black made the pedal name heavens gate after the suicide cult with all that alien imagery is too funny 😂
The twin lasers pedal literally made my head spin. I have a tiny little speaker and it seriously made the room sound like it spinning.

I thought it was just something that came about in production during an early Phil Collins studio session
Wow that Dues sounded so good ❤
Yooo a cult themed pedal? Heavens gate!? I would buy it just for that alone, lol! Sick!
Gated reverbs where used alot in late 70s early 80s post-punk, listen to Unknown pleasures by Joy division for example, that album is filled with gated verbs :) I personally love how it sounds
Nah.
Over produced by Martin Hannett, allegedly.
Heavens gate was that messed up cult where the founder had everyone commit suicide, I think.
I've been yelling at my PC that Oro means gold in spanish but you know the pedal sounds good
Love how the dual phaser combined with the distortion! May be another video could be trying out a series of pedals that work in tandem with an expression pedal.
what you were thinking of was orzo which is small pieces of pasta that look like rice. originally was made with the scraps from making bigger pastas

I think the Dusey was starting to channel Pete's Uncle Larry. 😂😂🏴👍👍👍Respect to you fellas
I want to hear the end of Lee's Amsterdam White Widow story!
The white Widow I can hear Tony Iommi tone fairly easy.
The gated reverb with the wet/dry turned all the way up, almost sounded like some ambient lo-fi tone.
Snap! Same WW/Amsterdam experience! Amazing coincidence! Wonder if it was the same cafe...
Never thought id need an end of the line modulation pedal but here i am. Lmao dope riffs.
Im considering using gated reverb for reggae reverb stops, anyone have an idea how this might work?
How do you guys adjust to doing new drive/distortion pedal every day for 10 years and don't get tired and jaded about them? How do you find a fresh attitude towards them and give them a real chance?
There are definitely worse jobs in the world
I have been, and always shall be, your friend.
Hahahahh Pete & white widow 😎👌
The Mt Rushmore of guitar pedal makers are Mike Mathews Michael Fuller Jim Dunlop
I do wish that gated reverb had a pre-delay, it kicks in immediately muddying the guitar tone a tiny bit more than id like
Nice concept the gated reverb. Never hear'd about 'em :0
6:37 Pssst... Lee, what happened in Amsterdam? we wanna know! lol
Not in a band how cruel, sounds amazing cheers captain and Pete👍🏻🎸
YEP WELL BELOW THE BELT
I want to hear the cafe story
Good morning from Detroit Rock City.
The Phaser reminded me on the synthesiser bit in the Master of the Universe (The Movie)
lol Lee grunts once and Pete gives him nonstop shit
Orso pasta resembles rice and is often used in soup. I think that's what Pete is after.
The tone on the distortion pedal sounds like a frequency sweep
I have no friends either, Lee. So all my reverbs have trails. Sorry Mr Black, looks like I'll only be buying the scary facey one!
Anyone know what guitar he was using?
Dream guitar, right there. 😎🎸
11:20... reverb for lonely people! 😂 Brutal!
Now it's breathing baby! 😁
Another great Tales from the Cabinet! The Duesy is back. Would you sell it, the colour is amazing 🙏🙏🙏?
Long delay into gated reverb?❤
Do I get a family discount?
Phaser into distortion would have been nice to hear!
The distortion sounds promising.
Ducked or gated, Lee. What's the difference ?
Oro or kolo is Serbs related traditional circular dancing.
Beautiful intro...
Sold!
Gated reverb should be stacked with reverb to get the tone/room without the obscene trails.
I don´t know, if the name "Heaven´s gate" is tasteless or brilliant😅
Why would it be tasteless?
@@ameer_saban en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven%27s_Gate_(religious_group)
@@donoteatglass oh, then it’s absolutely brilliant. Thank you for this, I’ve learned something from a pedal video. My parents will be proud lol
The name ' heaven's gate ' has been used by Asian cultures for at least a thousand years.. any recent cults can't have sole ownership of that name..
Dudes... its morning here, I need a tasty jam to go with my toast. Can't eat it dry...
Oro is gold in Italian
🤣🤣🤣 I was thinking that gated reverb would be great for shoegaze. ☠
14:00 I am going to go out on a limb and say that the gated reverb pedal won’t be a top seller in 2023.
Portland Oregon or Portland Maine?
Oregon
That band friend comment really got to Lee.
Winner.Duesy!
Anderton´s rock!!
"Small person skipping rope" lololol

What about the Zoom multistomp?
Orzo it’s a type of pasta
Hah, you used Siri! That explains a lot.
❤
Bring back guitar Paradiso you gorgeous fools
Stuck in the middle with you!
6 hours later 🤣
