As all true sons of Dorn…Templars will do what they can to DEFEND humanity. But as Templars…they believe in “The best defense is a good offense.” They would rather fight the enemy whenever and wherever possible, and not sit in a castle laughing down at the enemy pathetically trying to breach their walls.

If you are interested in learning about the Xenos factions, two books I highly recommend are "Ghazghkull Thraka: Prophet of the WAAAGH" (Orks) and "The Infinite And The Divine " (Necron).

This all depends on character to character. Black Templar named Lucerne became best friends with his ward Historitor Fabian. They often joke around like a big and little brother.

I recommend the „helsreach“ book and „the lion son of the forest“ the audio books of them are also extremely good and give you a „feeling“ of it that might not be there normally

I love the Night Lords trilogy. They are fantastic. The Night Lords are one of the Chaos Legions. Main character was a Night Lord apothecary turn unofficial leader of a squad. He has high influence in his company do to him having the ability to see the future gained from his primarch. He doesn't like the fact that more and more of his brothers are falling deeper, and deeper into chaos. It's a very great story and is known to be one of the best 40k book sieres.

Space Marine 2 got me into Warhammer. But all of my friends already know a bunch of it, and I was working by myself for a week so I listened to A LOT of Warhammer lore.
Where I'm at and a super easy way to understand it, is to know that the Emperor sent out the Primarchs and they all landed on different planets.
I'd start with learning about the Primarchs first, because they're up bringing and the culture they grew up in really influence the chapters. That makes it a lot easier then just learning little here and there.
The Black Temaplars are a successor chapter to the Imperial fists, so I would highly recommend Adeptus Ridiculous's video on Rogal Dorn and then go towards the black Templars.
I really love Sanguinius and the Blood Angels now, I liked the Space Wolves first but after learning I switched.

The Emperor didn’t send the primarchs to different worlds. They were ripped from their incubation chambers and tossed across the galaxy by the Chaos gods who used their mother to betray the Emperor.
They did this so some of the primarchs could be corrupted and all of the primarchs that sided with chaos with the exception of Horus where corrupted piece by piece from an early age by the chaos gods.
Horus was the only primarch that grew up with the Emperor as all the others were supposed to.

@jarlwilliam9932 Makes a lot of sense, I actually thought the Emperor did this because it caused him to have a lot of worlds under control and loyal the minute he showed up

we are blessed by seeing the descend of Yeertski into the Warhammer L O R E
its a lot of interesting stuff as you said, im just starting myself but even in the vast horrors the setting has, there is a lot of cool and badass moments for heroes of all factions

Edit: hells reach has an entire TH-cam series for the book made by a fan that is mostly accurate and highly praised with its unique appearance.
There are hundreds of books for 40k and the horus heresy, written by many authors. TH-cam is your best introduction to them to get an idea where to start. If you aren't bothered by spoilers, I suggest TH-cam before books as to get a decent grasp of this vast universe rather then deep dive into one of the many, many pools of 40k lore

@Yeertski plenty of good lore channels of all magnitudes to look into. Many good ones to zone out to as you fall asleep if you're into background noise

no warhammer 40k book is a starter, most are in a series of book or have plans to be. the cloest you can get to a starter book is "the infinite and the divine" its about the necron trazyn thats on most formats. i'd find one that will keep you interested, most of the 40k books will have refrances to other 40k books. the most you can do is start reading.

The black templars respect good guardsman regiments but they don’t really care about civilians but then again their ruthlessness allows them to avoid unnecessary casualties and reaching an estimated number of 7k-8k templars, almost being able to reach the number of a legion during the great crusade. Where as the salamanders always struggled to even reach 1k marines because so many of the sacrifice their life for civilians. So you have to choose between being effective or being a beacon of hope for the civilians

    • @jarlwilliam9932
      @jarlwilliam9932 วันที่ผ่านมา

Their numbers are nowhere close to legion size, most legions numbered in the 100s of thousands, only one or two dipped below 100k in numbers.

@@jarlwilliam9932 ok then I don’t know what the hell I was talking about I always thought the original legions had 10k-15k marines, thanks for correcting me

    I'll be honest.
99% of Warhammer books are not beginners friendly.
Most of the writers expect you to already know the basics of Warhammer lore.

lets be real, even if they may or may not care for human life, their paint scheme is drippy.
