For beauty bloger.. Rich girl like u may be degree doesn't matter but there are thousands of girl in india who belong to very poor background just ask them value of education and degree..... First they have to fight for to get education which is so expensive then they have to try hard to get job.... Because this is the only thing which can change there life.....
if you have a passion and you're good enough, it doesn't matter where you're from, what you do, how much you earn. I am fully empathetic that there are a lot of people out there that don't have a choice because of circumstances. But that has nothing to do with only getting a degree. Education is the most important thing until you're like 18 years old. After that if you stick to your passion and work you'll be happy by the time you're 30. This doesn't mean you don't get a degree, you can get one in what you like doing, if you can't afford it, then you do a basic degree and learn that on the side. If you can't do that. Then work, get a job and then do your passion, because the day you stop following your passion, you're not different from a robot.
She started her speech with no degree and in between she had went to London to do course. She herself endorsed that education is very important. Passion+education+gaining experience is very important..!
You didn't get the context of her speech and the message she conveyed. What she meant was, do not go for a degree just for the sake of it. Find what you are really interested in and acquire the required knowledge and skills by undergoing relevant courses or trainings that is aligned with your areas of interest.
She belong to well off family ,that's why. She pursued an odd and risky job , just simply pursuing interest and passion will not sort out problem , other thing also need to be considered
There's a difference between education and knowledge.. Aashna here is focusing on knowledge.. besides with or without a degree you've to always put in some hard work 😇 then why not work for our passion instead of wasting time and money on something that you'll probably bearly put into application 🙂
Honey... Please don't make people like aashna ur idol... She has got good looks a good figure... Paid hairs.. Money to get looks better.. And then sponsor... And make little girls like u... Keep her rich by getting her commission... U really need to open ur eyes.. Maybe she is passionate abt it.. Maybe she just gets money for it.. That's it... Anyway I can't think a person can be passionate abt applying 40 different crams everyday to their face.. Maybe 5 max. But anything above that is plain sponsorship without results..
Very debatable. She's speaking from her perspective and to the people who have what she has. You can't always speak universally because every category needs to be represented by someone who's made a difference and she made a difference to her category or her lifestyle. Just because someone is from a family of higher income standards, doesn't mean they don't have a passion, they don't have problems, they don't have insecurities and they don't have experience. She's speaking to the people that have what she had and they need a voice too.
Just before judging anyone from ur prespective...just go and research about that person first....she has gone through so many of ups and downs in her life...and now she is here..that mother who is just always being supportive to her has only 1500rs in her account but still she sent ashna to uk for study....there is always a bad/dark phase before anyone's success but we probably didn't consider that...always judging...just ridiculous
Nothing that she said applied to practical world. She was chanced upon by the booming internet trend and a right decision to take up that opportunity. There are way many fashion n lifestyle bloggers way more talented who have been trying from years but have failed to gather following. If u dropout of college , u get snubbed off by opportunities Ur way. This isn't the bollywood world where a start-up or a "passion" is sufficed to sail u through hardships of life .
She already mention she is not against of education and all She is doing what she passionate aboutand telling that Pls stop spreading hateredness for her in the comment section
And... These are the type of people who r making her rich.. Watching her videos buying her sponsored products from which she is getting a cut... And being mystified by the beauty... Even though she is a girl... (Both)
No matter what how much you get fame and money from your passion , an well educated person will always look more intellectual and will be respected by all person
I do not agree with you. What is the point in looking more intellectual and being respected by all if you are not satisfied from deep inside. I am not against education or getting a degree... What I mean is, there is no point in doing a degree just for the sake of it. Find what you are really interested in and acquire the required knowledge and skills by undergoing relevant courses or trainings that is aligned with your areas of interest. And of course, if you are successful no one is going to ask what degree you have.
I don't get her. One point she went to London for higher education. Now she is wabbling on how degree will not favour success. Isn't it Hipocracy na?!?
Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates had the brain to reach the place that they are in. Average Indians do not have that. They cannot just drop out of college. Fashion and makeup is your lifestyle as you have a face and body that people will like. On top of that you had the privilege of pursuing that from UK. Most of us think about saving our parents money and not going to the college that we really want to go. So, kids learn things that you like, choose courses wisely, do not think opening a TH-cam channel will give you the money like she is getting.
I agreed on your statement except the first one. Mark and Bill doesn't have that extraordinary mind to reach that kind of stage. And ya there are some privilege that they have that they were white, they had that kind of society(US), and a little more money. We Indians have a far more brain than americans the different is just that we do have the kind of execution, that kind of society and support and etc. Our parents have limited money they can't just accept that their child have left the college for some purpose (good).
I am surprised at seeing lot of negative comments here. Looks like some people didn't get the context of her speech and the message she conveyed. What she meant was, do not go for a degree just for the sake of it. Find what you are really interested in and acquire the required knowledge and skills by undergoing relevant courses (can also be degrees) or trainings that is aligned with your areas of interest.
it is good to have a college degree ,as long as it is fulfilling in term of interest ,financial well being & your personality..You will fear less about academicians of any level ,any carrier from universities and you will get more power to excell..so as for me taking a passionate degree is still okay and live for my passion is still beautful. There is no a big sense here of not finishing college.
Well congratulations for ur success gal !! But there is a difference in ur class and a common girl in our country !! They need permission to go out from home forget about education !
This can intrigue the growing kids quitting their studies- but also it could be motivating to pursue more for those who doesn’t have a degree in their late life yet they a professional job .
No matter what you wanna do in life you should have education or degree that will help you in future if you are stuck in life Don’t promote this idea just because you didn’t get degree and still “successful” and why ted is dropping standard by having speakers like her
Education is far more different from a degree. It is true that if you're someone that's confused about your passion, you should stay in a course that you at least remotely like until you figure something out. But a random degree in something you don't like, i'd rather have no money than not follow what I like doing. Sounds snobbish but like Gary Vee says, I'd rather not have any regret when I'm dying than cry about my circumstance.
"Education is manifestation of perfection within." There is a great difference between Educating self & Qualifying examinations to merely get a degree. Many individuals in the comment box misinterpreted her talk, she is not at all against degrees. Every year thousands of students are getting degrees in Hotel Management but how many amongst these have attained the success alike Haldiram Bhujiyawala or Dinshaw's Ice cream or Dosa Plaza etc. All three of these not had any degree related to cooking but they are highly successful. To attain the Power of Concentration is true education because through the power of Concentration we'll identify our true potential that is Divine. Swami Vivekananda said that if again He'll incarnate on this mortal globe then He'll not waste time by going to universities to collect informations rather He'll put effortfs to develop the power of Concentration. Concentration depends on the interest in a subject, & interest is Success, what this young lady is trying to explain, she is not against Formal education rather she is inclined towards Liberal education. God bless her!
You are saying that degree is not needed, not everyone will get a career without degree, your ambition goes success because you are very passionate in “fashion”
Her interpretation is very vague....It was her passion to pursue fashion and without formal education in that field... Not everyone wants to pursue a creative dream... Some want to become CAs, some astronauts, some want to get in to IAS, some want to be architects or civil engineers... And all of this is not possible without formal education... Yes you can create without education, you can invent without a degree but for that you have to be very intelligent to get the basics right... if nothing education provides a foundation to build upon... To start from... Later sky is the limit.... You don't have to sit doing a 9-5 job...
If your passion requires you to have an education that's the best way to go forward. Even if she didn't say that, it's what she means. She is speaking predominantly to the rebels that want to pick fields which look impossible at first. For them to take the first step in a field where there is no money for years or no money at all, you have to speak in superlative. Which is what she did, but she's not making fun of people getting a degree.
I think she already mentioned that if you saw the video, she said if you are passionate about being a doctor, do your medical degree. She didn’t see the need for a degree for her passion and she converted that to a career.
I really appreciate this women bcuz she followed her passion and guys many so called degree holders are not getting jobs even today in the economy. Like whts wrong with following up with ure passion?? I mean atleast u can be happy with ure whole life when u follow it rather than getting stuck in doing a job. Perfectly its fine to follow with ure passion bcuz u are gud at it and u can start something with it after all. Sooo in my opinion i really appreciate ppl like her coming here on stage.
Degree is must whether you are in fashion industry, public and corporate sector. You have no idea how degree is important for feed the people.. Without money you can't do whatever you want. Be realistic!
The first time I disliked a tedx video... It's not about the girl or from which background she is coming it's about how she is expressing herself... When you stand at such a huge stage you have the responsibility of making yourself worthy of that stage in those 5-10 min you get. Here its like her CV speaking...
Good for you, Aashna, but you come from a high class south Mumbai upbringing.. majority of us don't, yes, that includes even the people living in top urban cities. So, we cannot be inspired by your story or learn something from your life.😐 Thanks for letting me know that there's another girl who's stylish and just a 12th pass, though.
It is not difficult to pursue our passion. It is said by many to follow our passion. The real question is how to find our calling? If anybody knows, please let me know.
Getting a degree would have not come in the way of pursuing your passion.. I am genuinely impressed that your mother could forsee the social media career potential say six years back. Who know how fickle it is though. One can think of so many courses (degree courses), say design, communication, marketing, that could help you elevate your current business / venture or whatever it is. But then if its a choice to not do it, then that's a different matter.
It is time to put an end to this...these so called influencers think big o themselves cos o the easy money and the petty fame they get...maybe they don't realise how fickle that is or maybe they do...but it doesn't seem that way at all the way she s glorifying herself out there 🤦🏾♀️
This is such a wrong message to our youth. This girl is inherently privileged and wealthy and she probably does not even know the struggle when u have no money or no job. Ted is such a huge platform and you are putting up something that might intrigue 1 or 2 children and easily destroy their lives by quitting education. If degree is not important why did she even study till 12 grade because you want to be presentable enough. Blogging wouldnt take you far and it will never be enough to run your house and no blogger will ever tell you the struggles that they go through. Please stop influencing the youth on quitting education and telling negative things about regular jobs. Rather tell how privileged you are and how was your struggle. Ted really disappointed from your choices on speaker
Yas so kids watching this should get inspired and drop out of schools and colleges !! Yas y not everyone is good at fashion, everyone can do makeup and coming to makingTH-cam videos it’s a cream walk! We all are living in a time where our so called influencers are make-up lovers. I mean seriously government is all over the place, providing education and here v r giving ted talk on how to drop out of school. Nothing against her, but I completely disagree with her vision.
shaik husna even if one can be a good beauty blogger that should never be done at the cost of a permanent degree...all this social media money is so so so unstable....there s no surety as to how long you can be what you wanna be in that virtual world...instead she kept glorifying herself...pity 🤦🏾♀️
U r degree holder maaam... You copying foreigner... If u dont have डिग्री, you would not get job... Be practical.. Even if you go to bank to get loan they will ask qualification then they decides the amount of loan.. This is India
I think its sooo important to have a degree, and its sad that your mom dint allow you to do it even when you thought that it was a wrong decision to not do it. Its great that she believed in you,but pushing her instincts on you,not very sure if that was right. Also, having a degree can always help,im glad you have a great career being an influencer.but sometimes everything one does, dsnt work and you have put in so many of your years trying , your old enough to go back and sit with children sooo young to you and get your degree.thats when your degree will come in use.also how much ever we criticize the education system, knowledge will never be a waste and so will your degree.getting a degree involves no rocket science (unless your actually learning rocket science ofcourse)
Having a degree sure is important especially if your priorities require you to have one.I assume, here you're telling her to earn a degree for the sake of it which is not the most ethical route because maybe there's someone out there who's struggling to be in her seat that she occupied which is kind of a waste since she didn't need it herself. A degree is not the answer to everything and you can't deny the fact that our education system is flawed and outdated.
My god. We really need more inspiring speakers. TH-cam and makeup most importantly, cannot be a job for everyone. Stop suggesting ridiculous things. India has a vast number of women who yearn for a degree. Don’t hate on degrees because you didn’t get one and are still successful.
prabhav singh give me one example from her channel where she has done something original. Anything that can give merit to her vague indications at not needing a degree. Anything that a regular beauty blogger does not do? Anything that can seem inspiring? You have put your point nicely but maybe a younger audience does not have so much perspective. Passion gives rise to creativity, not rip offs. Ted talks is a huge platform. We need stories to inspire us, not a short talk on TH-cam channels.
Without degree any one comes to you for job only on the basis of talant and training.will you offer them a job according to their talent.????????? Answer _______________________😊
You were very articulate in expressing your views & in the end when you fumbles & says sorry you just catch my heartbeat there ; your outfit was very engaging yet comfortable I really like when girls sports cloths which they enjoy
She almost made people with degree worthless... Girl promote education in this country , it's the need of hour for us... Not everyone can be a fashion blogger... Her entry and body language ...damn rude
Sandhya Yes we badly need to promote education! But ,but moreover we need to preach our generation to look at the bright side of a story not as you did! She didn't meant just fashion blogging she meant Passion man "Passion".
Ya I m from gujarat so definitely I agree with this mind set coz degree is just a document but if u have knowledge so definitely you achieve what you want Coz now a day all r finding for job no one can make their self as a job creator so it just so disappointed kind of things
Guess its a little too early for the speaker to talk about her Success Story...... It's just the Beginning.... n she has a Long way to go! Not yet the right time to dive into a conclusion about degree..passion success rate whatever!! Nice attempt anyways.... and may you be able to say the same after say 30-40 years maybe.... God Bless!!
It's a rare cases but the fact is everyone wants degree , you are talking about passion people in India say get a degree and follow your passion!! This is the harsh truth !!
Aisha Qateel this is my point Aisha education is very important only 1% people left education to pursue their passion and only few of them succeed and do well in their life!!
Tedx don't need some strange or weird things.... She correctly said everything but not deeper.... So you're putting comments like this.... Look our ancient they cured all diseases including death they didn’t hold a degree.... "Knowledge over degree" a great thing. ....what a thought she is providing us.....who are having bad opinion about this video just research about our ancient things and make a comment. ......love you sis😊
And Ted doesn't need viewers like you. Instead of the talk you're focusing on her outfit. Oh yeah, you didn't even understand what she said so let's spewing hatred. Typical!
Wow ! Great! Smart concept! Lovely advice on how ones passion in life builds one’s career than achieving degrees, to be successful in life! Wonderful & inspirational!
Man, somebody please give this girl a reality check ! Uff Mama's princess

Shitika Chowdhary seriously....and make a talk out o it too 😆😆😆😆
It is time to put an end to this...these so called influencers think big o themselves cos o the easy money and the petty fame they get...maybe they don't realise how fickle that is or maybe they do...but it doesn't seem that way at all the way she s glorifying herself out there 🤦🏾♀️
This is such a wrong message to our youth.
Agreed
Well said!
Her mom is Kiran Shyam Shroff. So yep Aashna has always been wealthy and privileged.
You don't need a degree to show off your body!
Yesss.....i totally agree👍👌👌
Why so much sympathy for her it is not even struggle mannnnn
Sachin sir dropped out from school not college
Oh indeed you are belonging to rich family if you ever live a comman person life so you realize how degree is important in life
Yas so kids watching this should get inspired and drop out of schools and colleges !!
100%%
U r degree holder maaam... You copying foreigner... If u dont have डिग्री, you would not get job... Be practical.. Even if you go to bank to get loan they will ask qualification then they decides the amount of loan.. This is India
Arrr yrr demotivate mat kar.. . ....gussa aata tera jaisa comment dekh kar
Maria Irene Gomes totally agree
I agree with u too!!
Maria Irene Gomes i agree. Nothing can fake replace a college degree. I stayed home to raise my kids but my degree helped me go back to work.
My god. We really need more inspiring speakers. TH-cam and makeup most importantly, cannot be a job for everyone. Stop suggesting ridiculous things. India has a vast number of women who yearn for a degree. Don’t hate on degrees because you didn’t get one and are still successful.
Varnika Chauhan lol i know! Who is she even??....counting herself in the same category as Mark Zuckerberg! LOLOLOL....she is a NOBODY!
maryam khaja this is so misleading. I am hoping the young and vulnerable audience who are watching this don’t take too seriously
Varnika Chauhan Too true....ted talks used to be sensible before 😞
prabhav singh give me one example from her channel where she has done something original.
Varnika Chauhan couldn't ve put it better 👏👏👏👏👏
Without degree any one comes to you for job only on the basis of talant and training.will you offer them a job according to their talent.?????????
Answer _______________________😊
She's crazy bro.. Just keep study.... Don't care about these types nonsense...
2:21 , look at it , she says for herself and not everyone
First time I did playback speed slower for listening her. 😊
Jin logo ka example de rahi hai wo js collage se dropout hai waha jaane k lye normal human being ko soochna pdta hai
You were very articulate in expressing your views & in the end when you fumbles & says sorry you just catch my heartbeat there ; your outfit was very engaging yet comfortable I really like when girls sports cloths which they enjoy
She earns 8 to 10 lakhs per month..
Very much Good motivation mam ji
In gulf countries like qa8 u need a degree to get driving licence unless and until you are a driver 😂😂😂
Loved this😍 You rock Aashna❤️😘 So inspiring and motivating! And that mantra is to live by 🙌🏼💯
I don’t know what the use of putting these kind of useless people in a platform like this. So shame.
Enjoy ur Journey..:)
Ya I m from gujarat so definitely I agree with this mind set coz degree is just a document but if u have knowledge so definitely you achieve what you want
Coz now a day all r finding for job no one can make their self as a job creator so it just so disappointed kind of things
There are some businessmen who became success without having degree.....
Thank you very much to inspire everyone...!
This is not motivating and inspiring at all
Nice
Hey, my boy also can gv good speech like her☺️
Whatever the hate comments people are showering here she is still living her life and eventually earning more than you.
Piyush Sharma exactly !
Piyush Sharma bcz higher education is also important in today’s time
Aisha Qateel this is my point Aisha education is very important only 1% people left education to pursue their passion and only few of them succeed and do well in their life!!
Piyush Sharma absolutely correct!!
No instead get a degree in your passion :)
Well said degrees are just a fashion these days follow your heart.
Aagyi armaan ke paise choosne walii🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
SRK IS BEST EVER IN TED TALK
Awsm aashna. Proud of your thoughts dear
Nitya Tripathi hiii
Nitya Tripathi I want to be ur frnd
I never believed on person who gives examples on Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates
why
Faizan Faizan because they are dropout from Howard's University
Interesting and encouraging for those who agree.
Very good
What if someone who doesnot have a passion? What should he/she do?
Her point is not accurately delivered.
Thank u very much now I am clear what to do
Its really awesome..
She doesn’t deserve TED. Typical talk nothing new! Also that outfit isn’t even suiting her.
And Ted doesn't need viewers like you. Instead of the talk you're focusing on her outfit. Oh yeah, you didn't even understand what she said so let's spewing hatred. Typical!
Haha and apparently she’s a fashion blogger
YES
Superb 👌👌👍
Nice speech. Great going👌 👏👏
A school child can prepare a better speech. Wastage of time
Alright I'll see you in the next Ted ex talk.
Wow ! Great! Smart concept!
Lovely advice on how ones passion in life builds one’s career than achieving degrees, to be successful in life!
Wonderful & inspirational!
Superb👌👍
Truly disappointing for a Ted platform!
very petty from your side too
Very nice and your speech inspired me a lot thank you
Motivating and helped to clear some of my doubts
very well said... I totally agree ...
Hats off you👌👌
I like your dress😍😅
What she said..fundamentally is correct... Whether u believe it or not..
Wao aashna is here😍😍
Rahat Khan hi how r u and you r looking so cute
