Important detail, it's rare for Mob to get as emotional as he was at the end of the episode without triggering a 100% explosion, he's clearly controlling it better.
he didn't have any powers left to control, he used them all up in the broccoli so he could talk to Dimple without going to 100%. they'll probably be back after he recovers
plus he already got to 100% earlier and we know he has some kind of cooldown as he never got from 100 to 0 and right back to 100 ever.

Dimple putting his life on the line for Mob in this episode was truly insane. The animation was out of this world this week.
Mob's seiyuu made it worse for me when during the cinema screening he noted how spirits and people are pretty much the same thing for Mob, so their goodbye really felt like a close friend dying, and that he tried to convey just how heavy that would be, especially for a middle schooler ;-; And the director, Hasui, mentioned how the studio felt like a "bloody battlefield" when they were working on this episode, which definitely shows

Dimple went from aspiring to be a God so he could control people, to sacrificing himself for a true friend when he finally got the God powers he had always wanted. Amazing character arc
Someone pointed it out how he finally got to really control Shigeo (not just his body) for the first time but used it to save him

Dimple went from wanting recognition from everyone to be willing to be forgotten by everyone as long as mob is safe. That's deep man.

Yutaka Nakamura is one of the most influential animators of all time, so seeing the dynamic effects movement immediately told me who it was and I got too excited. I’m glad he appeared on the new Mob Psycho episode this season.

@@salehuddinalayyubi6094 I think anytime you see anime environments breaking into squares, you can be sure that's his work. Like the Shoto vs Deku episode in S2 of MHA or Deku vs Overhaul in S4. Fights in Kekkai Sensen, list goes on.

No amount of preparation could prepare me for this episode. Shit had me in tears, I’m gonna miss dimple😞
I absolutely love mob and dimple’s relationship, just knowing how far these two have come together and can relate to each other so much is heartbreaking. I was tearing up at the part where dimple was talking to mob and when he also waved at him right before he died. That shit got me I wasn’t prepared for this😢
This part of the manga always makes me watery eyed but the animes adaptation has me sobbing, it's such a good redemption for dimple as he finally realized that he already had what he always wanted but it was too late and in their final moments together he got to control mob like he always wanted but it was to protect him till the very end. Dimple was and is a true friend.
Rewatching, I realized that when Mob has flashbacks to the people who commented on his shirt, it’s not just about the shirt, but the fact that he was recognizing the people that cared about him enough to comment on his shirt. In doing so, he realizes that Dimple is another one of these people who truly cares about him. What an extremely bittersweet ending…

@@zack1140 Nah Teru definitely thought he was doing the right thing and thought the shirt was cool, Ritsu was hesitant to say anything because he thought that Mob liked the shirt and didn't want to hurt him, Dimple was just honest about it looking lame
Wholesome but also sadness, cause in the end Dimple was able to control Mob but instead of using him, it was to protect his one and only friend so he could be safe.

It’s crazy to see how strong Dimple became from absorbing all that power. He was able to take on that Broccoli all by himself unlike before, he wouldn’t have stood a chance at all. Fortunately, he used that power to protect and sacrifice himself for his friend. This ep had me in tears. I cried reading it in the manga and just cried even more seeing it animated.

The most insane shot to me was seeing through Dimple's POV when he was outside getting surrounded by the psycho helmet things, obscuring his view.
When I heard mob psycho was getting another season, I wasn't so sure. S2 had ended on such a stellar end I didn't know if there was any reason to continue but this episode right here was absolutely insane

The episode was truly 100 the talk was epic the fight was epic the ost was epic damn i never imagined I'll be this emotional over dimple death and mob crying for him
Despite already knowing what was coming because I read the manga, this still hit hard for me; harder even. The amount of love and care that went into animating this entire series is insane (unlike a certain season 2 of the manga by the same author).
Also, it's obvious that you gotta have an incredibly high IQ to understand Teru's taste in fashion.

Remember how Mob saw dimple die by hanazawa but he didn't care before. Those were good old times, especially, with that flashback of dimple trying to manipulate him and talking about if mob wanted to see under the school girl's skirts, then calling him a perv when he didn't respond.
One of the saddest parts and most wholesome is that at the end dimple does get to control mob but instead of using him, it was to protect his one and only friend so he could be safe.

With a little of Mob's power, and 100% Trust, Dimple took the broccoli to space. Mob wanted to throw it in the ocean and Dimple was almost skeptical, but who knows what Mob could really do with the right motivation.

Went from a man trying to start a cult for himself to a man stopping a cult for his friend. Mob was losing a lot of friends during these past few episodes, but now he's actually lost one. I can't believe I got this emotional to a guy who doesn't even wear pants.
Seriously 2022 has been a year of top tier anime episodes that popped off. This episode is definitely on that list. The most stacked year I've ever seen in awhile.

The fight between Mob and Dimple is one of the most human fight between friends I have ever seen portrayed in media. Especially in anime and Shonen in particular often times you see a disagreement between friends get resolved with them beating each other up and then getting over it. And with guys who're friends fights happen, whether physical or verbal. But the disagreement doesn't just end once the fighting is over. We sit down, we talk, we make fun of each other, and most importantly we're brutally honest. And in a short concise way the fight between Mob and Dimple really portrayed that. It starts with a disagreement that builds up into a fight, which eventually they realize they were wrong and while they both hold their ground for a bit they eventually calm down, talk for a bit, make fun of one another, and then are just honest about how they feel and accept the other. I've had fights like these with my friends before and they're the best people I've ever known. Some of them I've known for almost a decade now and I'm only 22. When you find a friend like that who you can have an honest fight with and they don't just take the path of least resistance and leave make sure to cherish that person. It's safe to bet on them being about for many years to come and while they may not be perfect and hell they might not come to your help every time but they'll always be there for you. And when they can help they will.

You know what’s crazy. One of the first times we’ve genuinely seen Mob let go of his emotions, crying over Dimple’s sacrifice, without exploding to 100%.
We’ve seen small parts here and there, but this was the first full blown.

I am pretty sure the animators did a visual homage to the ending credits of Laputa: Castle in the Sky with the broccoli floating up and away.
I also wonder if the Psycho Helmets vibrating in the tree (when they were creating a lightning strike) was a visual homage to the kodama shaking in the trees in the film Princess Mononoke?
And yeah broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, collard greens, and kohlrabi, and several other vegetables are all domesticated from the same plant species, Brassica oleracea, but selected for different parts of the plants.
Bro that last scene where mob cried where you weep alone but can't be loud so that others in your home don't hear you, that scene was very well done.
