    So many of us have a piece of embroidery or a doily made by our grandmother. These Heirlooms will be lost to the next generation because they didn’t have a relationship with the creator. I love re-purposing the piece and giving it new life. Combining the digitized stitches with Linda’s amazing free motion gave new life to this Peacock.

    Hello Linda and Corey, I love how you accented the embroidery with the beautiful quilting 💖👍
    I wish I had a long arm, I only have a inexpensive sewing machine that I am able to achieve some really nice techniques. However, much of what I would love to do, I believe having a long arm would be easier to see what I am working on.. without the obstruction of the machine itself.
    Thank you for sharing, I enjoy your videos, I am a subscriber and look forward to seeing more 💖❤️💕💜💗🥰😍👍 Take care and God Bless, Chris-Raleigh NC

    Hi Linda, just love your work! You are indeed so talented. Can I ask what sort of a background you had when you were younger? Were you an artist or did you draw or sketch? You are always just so confident in your quilting, never making mistakes & always knowing what to do & how to move around on the quilt so very well! Now Corey, you are just a master at the statler fully computerised quilting! You must have a really good mind for this as you do it so easy & so well. Did you excel at this at school? Boy you make it look so easy, but you must have spent hours learning all the tips & tricks & then learnt how to adjust them to suit!!! I admire both of you so very much & am just starting out on my long arm learning journey, with a very basic machine & also I’m old, but will try to learn from both of you as best I can. Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials which are jus magical to me! ❤️😍😊💕

      Joan, thanks for your kind words. Linda was in interior design before quilting. She always loved to sketch and draw, so when she saw the Gammill at the Texas State Fair years ago, she just knew she had to have it to help in her business of making drapery etc. Linda and Corey both self taught them selves everything they know. Both of them have practiced and practiced more over the years. We have Linda's 1st freehand class sampler hanging in our store, she loves to show you where she started, so you can see anyone can do it with lots of practice. Sketch books are her friend, draw, draw and draw some more. Corey loves the computerized quilting, he plays and practices daily to come up with ways to make it easier and fun.

    You could even work a trapunto yarn to raise the inner double to raise it and separate your little work from the machine stitch frame.

      @@LindasElectricQuilters Thank you, also what was your stitch and speed set on. Also was it a layer of wool on the bottom and 80/20 on the top? I am more of a computer quilter than free motion but I am going to give it a try. Thanks for the encouragement.

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marthasettles2348 80/20 on bottom and wool on top. On the Statler the speed was about 14. On a Constant speed it would be about 60 to 70.

    Would that batting tape work if you’re making bowl cozy & have to use 100% cotton?

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Batting tape will work on all types of batting. You can also test a piece out first to make sure before you put in a project.
