I have to say, as we own this machine, it does a great job on even heavily soiled things. It's not so great at removing stains, but it is super gentle on fabrics. As long as you pre treat stuff, and use the right cycles, it does a fantastic job! Auto fill tends to get the water level just right for optimal cleaning, it doesn't usually use too little water, and overall it's a great machine, well worth the money. Ours has only ever gone off balance once, and it was easily determined why, as it had been loaded incorrectly. The only gripe I have is it doesn't spin things nearly as well as I'd like. Stuff usually takes longer in the dryer than some of our past washers, but it's not a big enough difference that I'd really complain too much about it.
I own this washer. Im also a Farmer with lots of dirty jeans. As long as you keep it to Max 5 jeans and pre-treat stains it works really well. I always use max water level because I find that using auto fill uses too little water. But overall very happy with this washer. I have owned numerous LG, Samsung and whirlpool top loaders in the past and they are all crap compared to this unless you want to send them in for repairs every 2 years.
Thank you, Kirk. I have "binge watched" washing machine videos for 3 days now. Mostly yours, but others as well. I started out wanting a SQ, but some of the videos scared me off. After watching several for other brands, I came back to your SQ vids and am certain that when my 23 yr old, much loved Kenmore 80 Series machines pass on I will get a set of SQ's. I am on my 2nd set of Kenmores. The first set lasted 23 or so years as well, but I don't think I have faith in the new ones. Thank you, again.
Hi Kirk ; I've have watched many of your videos on the top load Speed Queen washers and enjoyed them . I have liked washing machines since a kid , also had my own appliance repair business and now commercial refrigeration . I have 1 , 2017 high end model washer and 2019 , tr7000 washer with matching dryer . And there awesome , thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos and help me make my decisions , I got rid of my Whirlpool front load and top load washers while they were still working and love our Speed Queens , thanks again . Tom Storms .
I am just a regular guy who is watching reviews of washing machines because I need to replace our old one. It strikes me that there are a few people that seem to seek out every post about Speed Queen's to rip them, while almost everyone else says good things. Something fishy going on here for sure. Thanks for posting this video, seeing real world performance is more helpful than anything.
Buy it with confidence. It's a great washer. The people who post those "fishy" type of comments will not last long on the channel. Negative comments are okay especially when the viewer sounds sincere. The people making mean comments will get booted. One of my favorite negative comments is when a viewer said " the only thing this washer will agitate is the owner" I loved that comment even though I did not agree with it. But people who use foul language and things of that nature will get kicked off the channel if I catch them. Take care and thanks for your comment.
It has been two weeks now, zero problems at all. The machine does a great job with stains, we have had nothing but positive experience. So glad I didnt listen to that few people who trashed it from the start. Makes me wonder what was in it for them? Very happy consumer here, and love the 7 year warranty!
Also know that the washer relies on torrents of water to naturally clean your laundry without tearing it to shreds. It gives clothes tlc while getting them superiorly clean.
They look clean to me that cycle did the trick. It’s not any longer than those other HE washers you tested maybe even shorter. Plus keep in mind that most people on very dirty stains pretreat a very bad stain, you didn’t do that and the result was more than acceptable. I’m definitely impressed.
I like your test because this is the first one I have seen where someone put in enough good detergent! I hope Consumer Reports tests this new design machine, and fast.
This was a true test of the new machine's capability washing heavily soiled clothes and the results speak for themselves. However it would have been interesting to see the results of having the P4 cycle run in its entirety with auto water level and the presoak. This P4 is an unusually long cycle but this is not a typical wash load, what's important is the load came out surprisingly clean despite the ground in dirt.
Agitub washers like this one need as I said on another clip, some kind of vertical fins mounted to the inner wall of the wash tub. This machine did a good job here..but only good..the tub is what generates the agitation, not the agitator. In fact when the machine spins while agitating, the clothes and water move away from the center toward the wall. Vertical fins here would create roll over and wash results far better than it is now.
That looks like a good job for 99% percent of people. Why does this model get hate? Those jeans were disgusting in any washer I’d probably wash them twice but those jeans almost came out perfect
Kirk - again I thank you for your videos. I have a SQ TR5 2018 washer with different choices for cycles so I don’t have a soak cycle. I would need to hit pause and open the lid for a period of time to manually be able to do this but seeing this is reassuring that your results were excellent without using the soak feature.
Sandy you are very welcome, If you let it soak too long (overnight) the pressure switch will bleed and the machine will think it has no water in the tub. It will try to fill again and may cause a problem. If you accidentally soak overnight just be sure to drain first before restarting.
I have to say I am somewhat more impressed! I didn't realize it had this special cycle options - I don't see the difference between this super soiled cycle and heavy duty! I still feel instead of spending all this money speed queen did to design this they could have added a auto fill option to the older model! I also still think a better style agitator would still give a decent turnover! My Opinion has changed a bit about this washing performance however for the $ of this I would still recommend a customer to save their money and get the maytag or other! To me this is not a copy of a old style top load like the previous model and that is what people wanted. And what I don't really don't understand their is no energy saving because it seems to use more water?? Kirk thank you for posting it is much appreciated!
Well I will have to say I was impressed. Sure it takes longer because of the agitation type. But it cleaned ground in dirt very well. This was the video I wanted to see about this machine. Others have done some tests on some very tough stains like pressed in Ketchup which this machine did a fair job but not as good as the previous model. Then again it could have been the wrong cycle as well and maybe not enough detergent during this test.
Gary, I'm glad you like the test. It's not very scientific but it's a good demonstration. I have to admit I was a little nervous. A viewer said that fresh mud is not so hard to clean, but it seems it did a decent job. I still prefer the old way that can do the job in half the time, that being said, I was still impressed.
People complain about wash performance and are loading this thing to much I have the same washer and only wash three items at a time if heavily soiled and it’s never let me down! Case in point tho I can overload my old speed queen wringer and it won’t clean good either. But thanks Kirk looks like it did a good job!
This is actually a very good tip. Using only small items that are heavily soiled during the wash cycle as opposed to combining them with a large load. Therefore, I will keep this in mind going forward, thank you.
Speed queen's new slogan should be, "A premium clean with TLC". It's obvious that this washer isn't beating the fibers out of them. Wouldn't you want your clothes to get TLC while getting clean? I would. Most mainstream brands will severly damage your clothes (or have the potential to), may not get your clothes clean, or both. Giving clothes premium clean with TLC requires the right strength of agitation, temperatures, and chemical action. But the most important part of this is the agitation method. These waves of water have the power to penetrate tough ground in dirt when the agitub spins one way, stops with force, then comes back another, forcing the load to move against the torrent. Think of your clothes and other laundry being treated like royalty. No other washer can say that. What am I missing?
True. I had an older set and sold it because it was beating my clothes to death. This gentler cleaning effort seems to be superior. If I changed oil in cars all day I might go for the older design but not if I have normal clothes cleaning needs.
I am a proud owner of a TR7 model and have no regrets. Cleans my comforter with no problem, with jeans added and two pillow cases. I had a nasty stain on my Jean pants and a small stain on the comforter and both have been removed without any traces that it was there. I did utilize the Warm wash and Warm rinse option and the Soak option. Thank you very much.
I have the 2018 TR5. That machine works best with auto-fill I have found and gives the best cleaning. Also I mostly use the heavy duty and Permanent Press Cycles.
I have to laugh at some of these reviews, It's a washing machine for cryin out loud not a merical worker!!! come on folks don't tell me that every washer that you ever owned in the past got everything clean every single time in just one wash? because I would tell you then that you're full of it!!! I've been in the Laundry business for over 40 years and couldn't get every single piece clean every single time!!!
Kirk you did no such thing, Don't say that!!! I was very impressed with this video and I'm sure a few others were too??? This video helped me to make up my mind and I'll be ordering the TR5 washer and dryer this spring... With some of these people on here, this washer could wash, dry & fold the clothes for them and they still wouldn't be happy!!! I don't know what in the hell they expect a washer to do, But it sounds to me like they aren't going to be happy unless they see the washer beating and tearing the shit out of their clothes and then to them they will be clean!!! I get the washing process of this machine now, and I was blown away when I saw how clean those jeans came out!!! I really didn't expect them to come out that good the first time around and it's not because of the washer but because of the ground in dirt!!! Thanks Kirk!!!
I bet this washer can wash better than the 1980's machine we're used to due to the fact that the clothes with heavy dirt and stains have nowhere to hide!
Not sure how that top pair of jeans got clean, since they never moved from the top to the bottom. Still not crazy with the lazy agitation, or the one spray rinse spin. And what is with the lack of full spin up speed after the wash and drain? I like the capacity, but feel that a few tweeks in the machines programing, like faster agitation, more spray rinses would enhance the cleaning and detergent removal. Also could have solved the cleaning issues with heavily soiled laundry by adding a prewash and soak followed by maybe a 18 minute wash with regular speed agitation (2016 and earlier machines). I still would have serious reservations about buying this machine.
I just bought it and I'm blown away. This machine cleaned these jeans in cold water with no soaking or pretreating....imagine what it could do with soaking and pre-treating in warm water or hot water. My god I love my new Queen!!! Can't wait to post a video of mine!
First let me clarify that every machine out there does not spin at full speed after the wash cycle no front loader and no Toploader this is due to the government water regulations. Secondly it does offer a prewash, he just chose not to use it but it’s right there on the control panel, now as far as the spray rinses concerned most HE washers don’t even have spray rinses. This washer did two spray rinses when it supposed to right after the wash water drain and after the first rinse drain.
I am with you tommy. More than one pair never made it through the machine during wash and NONE made it thru the 2 minute rinse cycles. No agitation. Just swishing. Filling a machine with water is only half the job. Actually agitating and rinsing is the remainder.
So true. How are those floating jeans getting clean ? Must be by magic, because they are not going underwater to play in the soap. What machines actually do a good job ?
I'm certainly not an expert on washers, but one of the issues I have with the Speed Queen Washers is they don't seem to pull the clothes down under the water and back up again. The jeans appear to sit along the top of the water. Speed Queens may be notorious for being built like tanks, durable and reliable, but I still like the way a economical Whirlpool washer cleans. The screw type agitator and a small 3.4 cubic foot porcelain tub seems to get the job done. My biggest gripe with the Whirlpool machines is the cheaply made parts and poor reliability, particularly the shift actuator, suspension system and control boards. All of these items had to be replaced. Fortunately I had purchased the extended warranty. It just seems like the washers of the 80's through early 2000 held up much better. Now there's water restrictions and H.E. hype that makes it even more difficult to make a good decision. I've watched many of your videos Kirk, they helped me purchase the machine I thought was best, so thank you very much for uploading these valuable demonstrations.
My biggest concern is whites. If u could throw some whites in there stained I’ll give this machine a second thought. Bleach can be added cuz I use bleach to whiten. Kirk this is my request . Thanks
I really enjoyed this....i'm talking a lot...what kind of soap did you use, did you pretreat the stains and what other special cycles does the machine have? I need another cig after that one....I really am interested in the special cylces and what all there is to choose from? YYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to see how well Persil 2 in 1 would have done, but honestly ERA is good too. I am so happy with this machine now. I can't wait to get my hands on one. I will keep it forever!
Dustin Burgess I think I'll stick with my 2015 model awn542. TBO I would look for that one if I was you. You could probably get it for around 500.00 used.
I purchased my TR7000 March 2019. It does not clean dirty clothes. I had it serviced and the tech and Speed Queen reported the machine was functioning correctly. I use the P4 cycle and tide liquid detergent. My sons pants come out after the wash with mud and dirt caked on the jeans. Let me be clear the TR7 does not clean dirty clothes. Finally after Sending videos to Speed Queen of dirty clothes they refunded my dealer and I got a TC 5000. I read the manual and consulted Speed Queen on proper wash cycles and the TR 7000 does not clean dirty clothes.
I am happy that you, Speed Queen and the dealer worked together and resolved the issue. I know that you had to jump through hoops to get it done but at least the manufacturer listened and worked out a solution. Thanks for your post.
Its honest comments and reviews such as the one sjc3081 posted that makes me extremely leery of purchasing the TR7003 washer. Still undecided between the TC5003 and their front loaders. Looking for input on the front loaders since the reviews on them are few and far between. Probably because of the cost.
@@Mike-up6go As of 4/18/21 I can report my Speed Queen TC5000WN is fantastic. My 8 and 6 year boys ride ATVs in a swamp and their clothes get muddy. I don’t rinse the mud off, just in the washer at heavy soil and extra rinse and they clothes come out clean. I can without reservation recommend the TC5000WN.
I apologize for asking such an ignorant question but here goes...if the reason Speed Queen changed was because of EPA, then I don't understand. This machine uses as much water as an older model and the cycle is longer. How is this more environmentally friendly?
All 2018 machines need to have a system to detect load size. This usually means a DC motor as opposed to an AC motor. The DC motor setup uses a speed controller device that can detect feedback (load) from the motor. The brain then can make a determination for water usage by a series of calculations. There also needs to be at least one eco cycle. Even the 2017 models needed to have an eco cycle, the only difference this year is that the 2018 machine needed to be slightly smarter than last year. There is a huge misinformed crowd who believe that Speed Queen made changes to save money. They cannot be further from the truth. Environmentally friendly? probably not, but this is part of the initial change to come.
Brian Bickford And we will stop replacing our appliances every 5 years, instead of every 20 like before! Like most things liberals enact, well intentioned but disastrous results.
I'm just the guy behind the camera. I was a little nervous though. I hope this boost confidence in the machine among the sells representatives, it did mine.
Those who program these care less if your clothes get clean in an inch of water. I use deep fill on even the smallest loads. I pay my water bill no one else. I want my clothes deep in water. Government mandates everything and they simply don't care what consumers want. I paid 2 thousand to rebuild my washer of 20 years after buying a new maytag and seeing how little water. So I have my top o line kenmore again for another 20.
@@gloriamcmillian3743 Great you had the old Kenmore refurbished. Is it a direct-drive toploader? $2,000 is outrageous to rebuild it IMO. I did two WP top-of-the-line units couple years ago for less than $350 in parts on each one. New tub supports & bearings, basket drives & brakes. One got a new base pedestal & refreshed the transmission with a neutral drain kit and fresh oil. Painted the outer cabinet on both.
As an employee of an appliance retailer in NW Ohio I would love to know where I could get copies of these videos that we can put on dvd to play at our Speed Queen display on our floor!
I've become addicted to your videos after researching the TR7003. 😁 Still not sure if I like this machine yet. Also purchased the pro wash cold water, no detergent thingy. I love the odorless, no masking smells with all the detergent and fabric softener clean smell but not sure if it's that great on stains. I need to do more testing by bypassing this feature . Maybe with the Tr7 I need to use detergent. 🤔 Thank goodness I have 7 days to return for full refund if I dont like it. Btw.. what do you use to be able to keep the lid open?
Completely confused 🤷♂️ about this machine - in some videos it doesn’t wash the clothes very good, in others it works fine, in some the tub / agitation wash movement is slower in others it’s faster. In all the auto sensing never starts with enough water and then needs to stop 2-3x to keep filling - One thing I notice which has not been reported, it seems to work much better without HE soaps. This wash shows actual suds and the clothes came out clean - I wonder how much of the misinformation can be attributed to using that useless HE soap? Anyway, I’m still not sure what to buy, this machine or the Maytag Commercial .... Does SQ have any updates or new machines coming in 2019?
I'm not sure what there plans are for 2019. So far, the machine has been great based on customer feed back and warranty repairs. In most cases no news is good news.
I don't care what kind of washer it is or how soiled the laundry is or the detergent used, if the clothes doing rollover to the bottom of the tub where true wash action occurs, then what you get in the end is wet dirty laundry. The wash action demonstrated I this video Would best be suited for Delicate items, not soiled jeans.
Kirk Rivas I have called around & been able to locate both a top of the line 2017 & a mid line 2017 since they are both 2017 they both have the 5 yr warranty both new. Just wondering if there is much difference, which woud you suggest. Because even tho they have these they are still pushing the 2018.
I would go with the AWNE92, it has little bit better control over water level and soil level settings. Both are great machines but with the nicer one you can fine tune the load a little bit better. Congrats on finding them.
I thought it had spray rinses prior to full rinse, my memory is bad though. Warm-Warm is sweet! The 9 series is one of my favorite washers, turn that frown upside down!
So for the most part, it did the job. But..... it needed a "special cycle", and took over an hour for it to complete the whole cycle. I know extra rinse was selected, but the older machines would complete it in just over 40 minutes. Still not a machine I would consider.
Yup, our TR7 performs just as good. We steer clear of the DOE mandated Eco Normal mode. It really does seem to be as simple as that. Dirty clothes need plenty of water to get clean. Who knew?! I really don't understand the negativity surrounding the new 2018 Speed Queen system. I would echo the comments of others that something fishy is happening. There appears to be a turf war going on and it's amazing what companies will do to claw back 1 percentage point in market share. The newer agitation system is gentler on clothes. That's a pro for most people. Yes, heavily soiled clothes may require pre-treatment, but that's nothing completely new UNLESS you're used to an agitator that is particularly harsh on your clothes, but allows you to get away with little to no pre-treatment. But, AMAZINGLY you've found in this review that very dirty clothes come out clean in any case, from the machine that according to some people comes direct from hell!
And upon further examination and thought, Is there some engineering/physics reason Why a top loader like the Speed Queen shown in the video can not achieve a 1200-1400 RPM final spin. You would have thought with all the engineering experience behind Speed Queen this would have been achieved
My dealer has a 2017 AWN432 but it looks so basic. Just the two of us, no kids and work office jobs. In order to upgrade they have the 2018 TR5. This looks gentler on business casual clothes. Both look like they are built well, but the 2017 comes with a proven track record of durability. Which would you purchase?
Snatch up the 2017 while you can. If you do not like it you can always sell it. If you cannot locate a 2017, you should still feel comfortable with a 2018 due to its build quality. The 2017 has a great delicate/hand wash cycle.
Hello Kirk, I am not so sure what tighter clearances mean, as I am definitely not of the engineering type. But, I have been watching washing machines since I was old enough to stand on a box and look over into my mothers 1954 (?)Kenmore. And having spent a life lifetime watching everything from wringers at my grandmothers to Westys at the neighbors house across the street and my mother-in-Law's , Unimatic next door, and several versions including the Multimatic, Rollarmatic, the 1-18, Speed Queen from the early 60's and just about every version Kenmore and Whirlpool came up with. I do not say all this to impress, but to ask this simple and most basic question. WHY is it so difficult for Appliance Manufacturing Companies such as Whirlpool, Speed Queen to simply take one or two million of the millions they pay over paid engineers (my apologies if you are an engineer) and pay that to a cross section population panel to design a good quality washing machine with options to suit (pre-wash, soak, 2nd rinse, soil level, wash/rinse temps., spin speed (at least 1200 RPM final spin). Cycles like Heavy Duty, Normal/Permanent Press, Delicate should just about cover everything except maybe a wool cycle. I have been in the medical profession my whole working career (over 40 years). I do not pretend to even know the business side of the appliance trade, but I do have a fair amount of common sense about how to get clean laundry from a washing machine. And bottom line, common sense seems to have been replaced by the profit margins and acquisitions. Sorry to be so wordy, but I am extremely frustrated with the choice of washing machines on the market today. BTW. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos and test and look forward to many more. Thank you for listening, Tommy (Losangeles)
I understand your frustration. Concerning better engineered machines: For example, lets take a dryer. The drum rest on rollers near the back wall of the dryer. the front of the drum rest on glides, some manufactures use felt, some use plastic or teflon strips. It works barely, so they keep the design. Another example is rims on cars. Some really expensive rims and tires do not need balancing because they were engineered better with better machinery. The machines building parts for washers cannot handle tolerances/clearances parts for Lockheed Martin's F16. So, the appliance industry is limited due to less sophisticated machinery (less RPM). Your cycle selections and options request seems very reasonable and doable but I doubt manufactures will engineer and increase production cost to obtain a washer with a super high RPM spin speed.
Sorry but that one pair of blue jeans was just floating on top forever. no wonder these machines have such a trouble cleaning things. if all they can do is float on the top then of course they will never get under the water to be actually cleaned. Where is the perfect machine that we are supposed to buy ?
Speed Queen has done their homework! I think what would make their tr7 machine better is a speech output, braille display, and an onboard tactile user interface for the blind and visually impaired as well as an onboard screen that shows pictures for those who are deaf but can see. They can work with tech companies that can engineer it to their standards. GE has a talking washer and dryer and I think Speed Queen should jump onboard and take a shot! The washers and dryers can describe what cycle options are available, as well as what the cycles are used for. For example, heavy-duty with cold water can be used for light to heavily soiled sturdy cottons that are dark colored. They should also come with an onboard stain removal guide as well as onboard bulk dispensers for laundry detergent, bleach and fabric softener. As a bonus, they also have a stain remover tank and sensors that sense load size, color, fabric type and soil level. Speed Queen washers can use a sensor wash and sensor dry cycle.
Jerome Davis my mother is blind and can operate my Tr-5 just fine and the dryer too. She would never have ever had or bought such a feature packed machine as the Tr-7 even 50 years ago its gimmicky and to that end a waste of money for stuff that no one needs or will ever use.
You're getting opposite results of what Loraine furniture got. He just did a test with ketchup stained white hand towels and the older SQ TL cleaned better. Not sure what to believe now.
Loraine furtinture his machine is faulty, he said in his video it was a demo which had been taken apart and put back together many times for training. It even had a bunch of dents on it he said. That was not a very fair test. His machine stayed on low speed agitation the whole towel wash with ketchup...... that's not very fair.
He does not have the final iteration of the current machine being sold. My machine was manufactured in 2018. His was made in 2017 when the machines were still under development. It's too early to tell if the the 2018 machine is better than the 2017 but it is still a Speed Queen made with some of the best manufactured parts for washers. I can't believe all the people falling for the comparison between a test model and a model that has been tried-and-true. Unfortunately, he will not be able to do a true test between a 2018 model and a 2017 model unless he and Speed Queen reconcile or he purchases a machine from a Speed Queen dealer. I say this with all due respect to a fellow dealer Loraine Furniture. I wish the best for him and hope he and Speed Queen will come into an agreement.
That does make a big difference in that he was not using the FINAL product. Final product is what counts and is what should be tested. I kind of liked what I saw here and would consider this machine if I was in the market to buy one. I'm happy with my 2017 SQ AWN432 TL washer.
You will not be in a market to buy one for many years I hope. I hope in one year, more people will have more clear understanding about this machine. Many will buy this washer not knowing there was a transition period. If the consumer does not notice a change, that tells me that Speed Queen did their job well.
I really appreciate your comment Mr. Storms.
For the record, I am considering Speed Queen because I love the 7 year warranty and the track record of the company.
I agree 100%.
This machine did a great job using only cold water too! I'm impressed!
They look clean to me that cycle did the trick. It’s not any longer than those other HE washers you tested maybe even shorter. Plus keep in mind that most people on very dirty stains pretreat a very bad stain, you didn’t do that and the result was more than acceptable. I’m definitely impressed.
They really did their homework!
It’s not that bad the more I watch the wash cycle the more impressed I am
Hey, thanks for showing us the best results from some muddy pants. Mud is typically hard to remove unless pre treated.
😂 I see what you did there!
Our Testing at AAA Appliance are showing the same Result's !!
Exactly. It swishes. it does not agitate. Stupid redesign of a formerly great, Functional, reputable machine. Another one bites the dust.
Thank you.
It's not using anymore water than the other washer did.
I think this is a win for Speed Queen...they still got what it takes!!!!!!!!!!
I think that they look to have come out well. I remember a n ad "TR7! The Shap of Things to Come!"
The 2019 model seems to have better agitation then the 2018 ones
@Mr Obvious no u
@Kirk Rivas your channel is so bad, I hate you
Well I will have to say I was impressed.
@@mackfar27 you bet it’s just trial and error really lol not telling anyone how to wash their clothes it’s just what I’ve found to work best!
@@opictia Absolutely!
Get a front loader
True. I had an older set and sold it because it was beating my clothes to death. This gentler cleaning effort seems to be superior. If I changed oil in cars all day I might go for the older design but not if I have normal clothes cleaning needs.
@@arthurtennessen9680 it would be better if they include a glass window and circulation via a pump.
@@LarryMarston I have one and enjoy mine.
Next time, I'd like to see it with both laundry detergent and fabric softener.
I have the 2018 TR5. That machine works best with auto-fill I have found and gives the best cleaning. Also I mostly use the heavy duty and Permanent Press Cycles.
I thought the machine did a fine job. I also think some of these folks are paid by competitors to complain about speed queens
I'm with you on that Robert. What a mess I made.
LOL!!!!
Preach man preach!!!!!! YYYYEEEEESSSS
Thank you Kirk! Now people can see that this machine cleans very well! It did a great job!
Thanks to you too for your comments. I still miss the 2017 model very much although, but we must keep moving forward.
Yeah, hopefully as the year goes on, more and more people will purchase this machine. But as for the next cycle, can you do the Normal Eco cycle?
Wash what?
Jeans or shirts or both. You pick.
About 10 shirts? If I mix jeans and shirts Bruce will get pissed. :)
If you fast forward you can see that it does, just backwards. The clothes are pulled under from the _outside_ instead of from the inside.
My biggest concern is whites. If u could throw some whites in there stained I’ll give this machine a second thought. Bleach can be added cuz I use bleach to whiten. Kirk this is my request . Thanks
Much improved!
That's a good washer!
No pretreating, just soap. The soap brand is ERA purchased from Sam's club.
Kirk Rivas dude you have to try percil.
I like Tide.
Funny/ironic part is the water fill nozzle alone was washing the jeans clean.
that end result proves this wash cleans your clothes for you people who think roll over is gonna clean your cloths
Maybe Trump will roll back some of these requirements!
Brian Bickford And we will stop replacing our appliances every 5 years, instead of every 20 like before!
Like most things liberals enact, well intentioned but disastrous results.
Kirk Rivas, the myth buster.
I'm just the guy behind the camera. I was a little nervous though. I hope this boost confidence in the machine among the sells representatives, it did mine.
I hope Lorain Furniture will reconcile with Speed Queen.
Me too. Lorain has a legit reason for their opinions, this could turn into a success story for them and Speed Queen.
Is it me or the wash action in this model was improved compared to the TR5 model?
Should have selected Auto Fill IMO. Let the machine decide the water level per how the engineers programmed it.
I can convert some of them to DVD. Let me know.
Nice mini-basket.
Thanks for noticing, take care.
That was my thought, exactly!
I said to myself, “oh man! Does Kirk realize how valuable that GE FilterFlo mini basket is?!?”
No, how valuable, sentimental?
Kirk Rivas Easily $50+. They're highly desirable among collectors.
This model is meant for people who do not get their clothes very dirty, like me.
Heavy duty Speed Queen washer replacement hose for drain for heavy duty Speed Queen
I would suggest loading it better, you seem to favor one side
I've become addicted to your videos after researching the TR7003. 😁 Still not sure if I like this machine yet. Also purchased the pro wash cold water, no detergent thingy. I love the odorless, no masking smells with all the detergent and fabric softener clean smell but not sure if it's that great on stains. I need to do more testing by bypassing this feature . Maybe with the Tr7 I need to use detergent. 🤔 Thank goodness I have 7 days to return for full refund if I dont like it. Btw.. what do you use to be able to keep the lid open?
So did you keep your TR7003? Or did you end up returning it?
Speed Queen should include a special gonzo cycle that tears the clothes to shreds to satisfy the "no turnover" crowd.
Seriously, I think the a two piece agitator will make them happy.
I want my clothes treated right!
@@kirkrivas8172 Thank you for your advice, I did get the better machine :)
My 9 series should have a warm/warm option plus spray rinses in between rinses as well! I only get 1 spray rinse before the first rinse! :(
I thought it had spray rinses prior to full rinse, my memory is bad though. Warm-Warm is sweet! The 9 series is one of my favorite washers, turn that frown upside down!
That you do, but it's 50 seconds. When was the last time you have a spray rinse for that long?? ;)
I saw the spray rinse on this washer too.
So for the most part, it did the job.
But..... it needed a "special cycle", and took over an hour for it to complete the whole cycle. I know extra rinse was selected, but the older machines would complete it in just over 40 minutes. Still not a machine I would consider.
These machines use about 5-6 amps instead of 10 amps of power so it's a tradeoff.
Still washed way faster than Im used to.
Sharkie626: This machine would’ve done just as good on the heavy duty cycle. So why won’t you consider it?
The old machine would have washed it in 30 minutes, but they went bye-bye. So whatcha going to do?
Well it would’ve done just as good on the heavy duty cycle. Just use the auto fill, high soil level and boom. Done.
+sharkie626: That's true!
And upon further examination and thought, Is there some engineering/physics reason Why a top loader like the Speed Queen shown in the video can not achieve a 1200-1400 RPM final spin. You would have thought with all the engineering experience behind Speed Queen this would have been achieved
They would just need to build the machine with tighter clearances. We don't get the rocket scientist in the appliance industry.
Hey Kirk, what is each cycle used for - including the specialty cycles?
What liquid detergent are you using here.
The 2018 if you value your clothing.
Snatch up the 2017 while you can. If you do not like it you can always sell it. If you cannot locate a 2017, you should still feel comfortable with a 2018 due to its build quality. The 2017 has a great delicate/hand wash cycle.
Kirk Rivas Thanks. While I always like to buy the latest and greatest it looks like the 2017 is the better choice. Thanks for the quick reply.
I value my clothing. Period.
The 2018 if your value your clothing! Like Dustin said!
Doesnt the lid lock on this model? I really hate that feature.
Yes it does, bit of course , as you can see in the video, it can be bypassed. I just ordered the TR7 today. Can't wait
Thank you Kirk for your reply. It explains so much of the confusion I have about the appliance industry. Thank you for the explanation. Tommy
In the past I have seen near crude designs, wash tubs out of round from the factory (not Speed Queen).
Sorry but that one pair of blue jeans was just floating on top forever. no wonder these machines have such a trouble cleaning things. if all they can do is float on the top then of course they will never get under the water to be actually cleaned. Where is the perfect machine that we are supposed to buy ?
Love the mini basket.. From a General Electric yes?
Yes, it was a cool option.
@@Channel-cm7yc if it was up to me, I'd get/stick with the tr5 matching pair too as it will be easier for me to use.

So what’d you think Jerome?
Great job Speed Queen!
I hope they set aside their dirty past and wash the past away and have a fresh and clean return.
You will not be in a market to buy one for many years I hope. I hope in one year, more people will have more clear understanding about this machine. Many will buy this washer not knowing there was a transition period. If the consumer does not notice a change, that tells me that Speed Queen did their job well.
lol
