Yep. Lights, cars, bikes, radio comms, officers in hi-vis jackets, blocked traffic and a VERY wide load... It's like getting my Great British bum out of bed in the morning. 🤭
When they quoted for the job I hope they didn't base their fuel costs on the price of Diesel back then!! Me thinks they will have lost out on the job. Impressive through.
@Lancashirelad Just as bad then! The gas energy held in the equialent oil "barrel" would mean gas is now costing four times as much as a barrel of crude.
@Lancashirelad Not convinced of that. I think those cylindrical tanks are to hold extra compressed air. Presumably the multi-axle load platform has air-operated brakes, and thus needs a lot more air supply than a traditional semi-trailer. Looks like they have a transverse-mounted diesel tank just behind the cab (underneath the aforementioned air tanks).
When calculating such transports you usually do not calculate the fuel costs separatly. These are contained in the tractor calculation which are usually based on a daily rate. Either way the fuel costs would make appr. 5 to 10 % of the daily tractor rate.
Yeah you would love this rolling past your bedroom window at 3am. Cost is probably the major factor, plod availability, lots of roads are closed at night for maintenance, who knows?
I've heard via Police officer contacts of mine that daytime abnormal load movements are better moved in daylight hours as they are more easily controlled on the grounds of visibility, being able to easily control the traffic, onlookers, locals and the communities, local councils and authorities involved along the route.
I' d doubt the 600 tons either way. The 5.5-bridge is good enough for a 550 ton load but the axle setup tells of a maximum of 360 tons for the girder trailer. Plus appr. 50 tons for the pushing and pulling tractors would make it at least 460 tons in total.
@@erikrobin6547 Faktor 5.5 maximum load is 350 tons, the trailer weight 63,7 tons. Thats the reason why his name is Faktor 5.5. His own weight 5.5 times is the load weight. One of the transformers weight 230 tons plus the trailer you have 300 tons. The axle setup is just important for the pressure for the roads. 2x10 axle means 15 tons each axle. Butt this heavy trailers have special axle with 8 tires each axle. Means your pressure is und 12 tons each axle.
The transport company has to pay for the official police escort and other permits required, It's very expensive, but the customer has to pay. I saw a wide load on a low loader yesterday, holding up the M6 across lanes 1 an 2. No amber light escort vehicles. But two police cars, one at the back, one at the front showing a "FOLLOW ME" sign. Guess who shouldn't have been there? Traffic cops pulled it over at the services. All this abnormal shit pisses me off!
"I'm sorry to tell you, Mr. Allelys, that you've failed your test, because you didn't signal correctly at the junction."
Best footage I've seen of this, hands down 👍
Woah, that 5 series is amazing!
Lovely catch dude!
Agreed. It looks like it means business.
Glad you enjoyed it! Try driving for a living and having to wait for all this shit! They could do all this at 3am you know!

If anyone wants to know, this is very rare to be seen at any place and at any time.

@Lancashirelad dont think diesels can run on gas
@Lancashirelad thats quite amazing never they could do that cheers
Good one!! Like the commercial vehicle unit!! ⭐️👍🏻⭐️
Great video, thanks for sharing.
An emergency generator heading to an emergency bunker. They’ve just realised nothing works.
Getting round that bend, 59 seconds in, looks enough of a headache! Lampposts still standing!
Wouldn't it be easier to do it in the middle of the night when there's less traffic around?
I would’ve thought so.

That sounds just like one of those "couldn't the police have shot the escaping murderer in the hand rather than in the middle of his body?" questions.
Too dangerous to assess and complete at night.
so is it a combined load with trailer weight included? or is the load 600t?
Neither
I' d doubt the 600 tons either way.

@@erikrobin6547 Is it not 16.5x20=330tons or am I out of touch with axle loads?

These Alleys drivers are briilliant
Wouldn't want your premises burning down then the fire brigade are caught behind this lot!😖😡😱😬😜
so what was the load?
Seemed to be a transformer.
Great video 👍👍
Fools, i could take that on my bicycle 🚲 😂💪
Loving those 530Ds
Is that actually the polices job?
