Great review, this and the G9 are some of the best cameras for the money. Look forward to seeing a G9 update review also. I have the 12-35 lens on my G9 and that’s a superb lens.
what lenses do you recommend ? i bought my G9 about 2 months ago and i absolutely love it, but i only have the 25mm 1.7 lens and recently bought the 14-42mm 3.5, i will get the budget zoom 45-150mm too, after that i don't have a clue on what premium expensive lenses to get, the 12-60 leica is one of my options in the future
Andy Salinas the 11-60 Leica is perhaps the best but I love the 12-35 constant f2.8 lens, that’s the one I leave on. I have the 25mm f1.7 which is great for the money and the kit lens, but that 12-35 is worth the cash. They are much cheaper new on eBay, think I paid 450 or below new.

This review is one of the videos that sold me. The short films I have on my channel have all been shot on the GH5 and I can tell you honestly that I'm very happy. My other option was the Sony a6400 but I'm happy I went with the GH5. I shot all my videos without the help of a gimbal or tripod - check for yourself!
It was refreshing to watch one of your videos again. I first subscribed on my main TH-cam Channel, MoonbearDiedHere. Anyway I finally upgraded from my G7 to the GH5 w/ the Leica 12-35mm lens in September and I've been very happy. It is always amazing to see what Panasonic pulled out there 3 years ago... Even nowadays, most companies still cant deliver affordable 4k 60 and such awesome handling and stabilisation. Great job Pana for these 3 flagships (gh5, gh5S and g9)
That is truth, but it is possible thanks to that Sony sensor. Others simply can't do that because they use larger sensors which are not available with 60 fps readout. An exception is Olympus which can't / won't do it even with that sensor.
@@TheHybridShooter yeah but sony themselfs should be able to do it if they even produce the 4k60 sensors :) and 4k also works on FF as the s1h shows, it will be soon without crop i hope... Do you know why olympus does not do it? Maybe they want to be strictly for photographers and leave pansonic the video market, dont know..
Sony makes no camera M43 cameras for their sensor that can do that, so I see no reason for that. There is a long way to no-crop 4K 60p on full frame. It is not even possible on APS-C. I have no idea why Olmypus won't offer it just like high-res EVF and display... They certainly don't want to leave anything to Panasonic.
@@TheHybridShooter it is certainly possible with apsc, fuji can do it aswell... even with stabilizer now... at least a6700 should have 10bit and 4k60, a a7s3 should have it aswell if it will ever come out...but yeah FF 4k60 seems to need very big body's, they really need to find a solution there

Exactly! I looked at upgrading to the Panny S1H and even if I had unlimited money I just couldn’t see any benefit in ‘upgrading’. And instead I just bought a secong GH5.
I have had my GH5 for over a year now and love every shoot I do with it. I just returned from Tucson Arizona and the video of birds, canyon trails etc. were great. Even dark scenes with noise were cleaned up nicely with Resolve 16 Studio. I really like Cine D profile as well. Highly recommended!
Best camera reviews on the internet - period! When I want fair, practical, and accurate info, your channel is my first stop. Thank you. Looking forward to the comparison of S1 to GH5. Please hurry as I’m very tempted to add the GH5 to my collection. 😉
Nathan L autofocus is very good, but I do not how compared to the the gh5. I am pretty sure that the G9 is Panasonic’s premiere autofocus camera though.
"If you want full-frame performance, you have to accept full-frame size." Truth. This explains most m43 lenses. Not a bad thing, just something to consider.
Ya, I just mean that with long focal lengths, you start hitting practical size limitations on lenses. There's no 25/0.7 for example, so you'll never get FF low-light performance at 50mm (35mm equiv), but by the time you get up to 300mm (say f2.8), adapting a 150/1.4 is totally possible. For telephoto, m43 rules. :)
Excellent video. I absolutely love my GH5s and GH5S - just like you pointed out in the video, these cameras are still pushing the boundaries in the world of video. I still believe they are underrated within the industry. Thanks for the great content!
You're about to like your GH5 even more. At 9:12 ... go to Operation Lock (Operation > Operation Lock Setting). Turn On "DISP Button". Problem solved. DISP will still work in other operations just not when ready to record :)
I've enjoyed watching your episodes for the little clips of Bratislava. My sister taught there for a year and I went to visit in 2016. Happy memories. And I made an episode of my World Tour of Bratislava 😀
"If you are thinking of trading the GH5 for something with a larger sensor, definitely consider getting this lens (10-25mm F1.7) instead" One of the best sections of an otherwise already excellent video. Really considering selling off my Olympus 300 F4 and get the 10-25 for my AWESOME G9 instead. 300mm, while good for wildlife, just makes me feel detached from the world I'm shooting. 10-25 and my Oly 40-150F2.8 or Pana 50-200 and it's a superb 2 lens kit that covers most needs. Add a really fast prime like the 42,5mm F1.2 and you're set for almost everything. Superb video, one of your best (and they are all good), thanks a bunch :-) /Rasmus
I always scout for tech because I love gear and stuff but I just cannot find something I wanna swap my G80 for. It is such a power house. A mini gh5 if you will. It is tiny, light weight, robust, weather sealed, ibis, cheap huge lens lineup, easy to adapt to, huge used market... the list just goes on. Only fuji and sony axxxx line has been in my eye but I just see no reason to change. Panasonic really nailed the user experience and quality.
I have the G85 love it but GH5 is my dream camera :) just have to win xlotto to buy one :)). Thank you for the video. Love this channel, please keep up the great work. Hello from South Australia my friend.
This is the setup I've been using for roughly two years. The metabones and the fast sigma really help to counteract the downsides of the minor 4/3rds sensor. Really has done me well and well worth the money.
Interesting. I just got a Speedbooster XL and tried my Canon 35L on it. It's good, but the focusing is a bit slow. I should work with it a bit more. The XL doesn't seem to register the change in boosted aperture, with the widest possible in camera being f1.4. Does the Sigma 35 register the boosted aperture with the XL?
A great review of a great camera! It amazes me that even 3 years later, this camera is very competitive with virtually anything else on the market less than $50k US. Even Sony's A7Rmk4 is not that big a leap except for the sensor size, which has it's own issues. For that price you can pick up 2 GH5's and a lens. This camera was truly a ground breaking camera when introduced in many many ways. So much so that even camera review sites have continued to use it for video despite all the cameras introduced since then (DPReview). This camera and a smartphone and one is covered for virtually any situation outside of shooting black bugs in a closet at midnight. Yes, full frame has its niche but 99% of the time, most people cannot tell the difference in the final photo product whether printed or social media. And therefore the continued viability of this camera. I agree about the swivel screen and TH-cam Vloggers. I personally don't like it either. I have a G85 and have never liked swiveling the screen out to take an overhead or waist level shot. BUT, this is a hybrid video camera, not a stills only oriented camera. If I was doing Product photography only in a studio, I would probably go with the S1/Sony/Canon/Nikon FF camera. If for nothing else than the higher resolution and dynamic range sensors. But for street video shooting, or anything else video for that matter, this camera is still King. You can take this camera out into the real world and with nothing else but a couple of lens and an extra battery (trivial) and be ready for anything, stills or video. One camera, one set of menus, one ergonomic style. That's it, you are ready to take videos and photos all day long without your hands hurting (Sony) and with great results every time. Thanks.
Thank you! It is a great camera but there is a ton of cameras under 50K that it definitely can't compete with. Under 3-5K it is still very competitive. A7R IV is also in different category with different purpose.
Great analysis. I was curious, I am about to purchase a GH5, and I am working oh my Portrait photography, with vlogs. Im looking to get essentially 2 lenses. Are there 2 you recommend for it that can handle both portrait photography and vlogging? It will mostly used outside for photos, and inside for vlogging, of course with occasional outside vlogs. Thanks for your help if you can provide it :)
Juuso Hoo this depends on your use case. You do get slightly better dynamic range from V-Log L, but you have to learn to expose a little differently for that profile to get the results you want. If you’re color grading, V-Log L is a must, but if you’re happy to set things to your liking in-camera with little to no tweaking in post, the built-in profiles might be fine for you. For me, unless I’m live-streaming or otherwise going straight out-of-camera, I’m virtually always using V-Log L.
My camera choices are not relevant because I have a camera review channel, both are great cameras. I'm not sure what do you mean by IBIS micro jitter, but I have never experienced any ruined footage due to improper IBIS function on A7 III.
@@danceparty769 "although I would shy away from shooting shortfilms and "feature films" on this)" what does that mean? it doesn't take good cinematic footage?
I have a GH5 with Viltrox EF-M2 II adapter and Sigma 18-35. Love, love it when the camera body doesn’t freeze up. My GH5 and many other people experience occasional freezing. Reddit threads say it has to be a firmware issue because it seems to be a different cause for everyone. Stellar camera for the price but still some flaws. I’m excited for the cameras coming out later this year!
Great video! I agree! The GH5 is amazing! I’m working with the GH5 since 2018 and I’m sure that I will use it for a long time. Actually I’m working fine with the duo GH4 and GH5!
What's your take on the XT-4? Should I replace my GH5 with it? The biggest issues with the GH5 for me are low light performance and stills. They both suck.
I don't know, I haven't tested one yet. I strongly disagree that the still "suck" on the GH5. Low light performance can be solved by using wide aperture lenses.
Thanks for the Video! I cant believe how far the GH5 was 3 years ago. If it were released today, it still would be a modern camera and a fair competitor to newer models. The ONLY downsides for me is the "Display"-button and the missing of focus magnification while recording. And fullframe? Of course (at least almost) with Speedbooster XL!
Dang, I was pretty adamant about buying the A7III with Tamron and then you come with this video. But no, after using the g80 for a year, I really need the reliable autofocus and full frame bokeh for shooting weddings. On the other hand, I'll miss the sweet IBIS, which was very useful for traveling. Thanks as always for a thorough review!
These things don't really matter. You shouldn't shoot a professional work with autofocus anyway , and bokeh is pretty sweet in f1.4 I'd say. IBIS is Everything in situations like these
I left Nikon years ago for Panasonic mirrorless cameras because I thought they were really innovating and so user friendly. I took an image quality hit at first but with the great lenses being released it wasn't for long. I'm still using a GH5 professionally for stills and hybrid work and it delivers on so many levels that no other camera ever did for me and still doesn't. I often try other brands but they just don't 'do it all'. I've looked at the S series but they're really not compelling me to crossgrade because of the size /cost /cropped 4k60/mismatched SD cards and the lack of articulating screen. They're also butt-ugly. Maybe I'll consider the next gen of S series but I'm keen to see the GH6 first. Great video.
You stated at 2:40 that it can do Full Sensor 12bit read out at 60P .. Is this meant to be 10bit ? If not how does one shoot 12bit with the GH5 ? Thank you great review!
I’m using G85 & looking to upgrade to something like GH5 - G9. I mostly use for event, wedding & looking at something 4k60fps. Now with the firmware update should I get the G9 or GH5 ? Which one you refer ?
I know the G85 has already been superseded by the G95 but could you also post a similar update about it? I’m sure there are a lot of people who’ve only just bought it or are maybe considering buying it.
I’ve had a G85 since launch and a GH5 since last year. Without making this comment a novella, suffice it to say that the G95’s upgrades, IMO, aren’t worth the money for someone who already has the G85. You get DUAL I.S.2, USB charging, better slow-mo, and the thumb wheel (biggest upgrade IMO) but worse battery life, a tighter 4K crop, and V-Log L that’s useless because of the 8-bit codec limit. If I were in the market for one of these, I’d go for a used G85 to save money for something that would be more useful than those upgrades.
Great video (as usual)! Almost every day I use my 2 x GH5 cameras, and I feel very lucky to have stumbled across them. I don't use them for the cool things so many folks do, but wow what a Value! (cost:benefit ration is impressive) Now that 10-25 is another wow on the $$ side... more than the camera itself... hmm, the 12 - 35 F2.8 II is amazing... except for Bokeh.
I trust your reviews, I have g85 and it has been great for me using it 2 years for photos and video, I need to upgrade for serious personal production. I dont wanna end up buying a cheap full frame camera with new gears for photos and another one for video. So, gh5 or g9, either of them going to be paired with atomos inferno. As far as I know both record 4k 10bit 422 60p external. Is there any difference in the resolution? Or any other major difference in video recording externally or quality that the gh5 has over g9? Warm regards ❤❤
G85 user here too! Like you I'm also close to upgrading, probably to the GH5 purely fore to the lack of a record limit hehe. I'll definitely check out your channel though! The wee G85 is such a capable camera still and I'll definitely be keeping it as a B-cam 🤩
After all the price drops and firmware updates, it's a killer deal in 2020. If I was shopping for a camera this year, GH5 would be in my top 3 list to consider.
Thank you so much for this outstanding video! It seems that so many details were taken into consideration when they made this camera and you have covered them all very well. I bet this video was a lot of work thanks again for this! This is helping me narrow my focus down since I don’t quite have a lens ecosystem to speak of yet, (currently using Canon M50) but I have been looking forward to the canon EOS R5 coming out. Maybe I should say you’ve made my decision more difficult instead of more easy LOL
10:10 hard agree on articulating screens. Wish the Sony a99ii screen was more popular, or the one from the s1h or Fuji x-t100. They can't stay in the center while tilted, and face forward
I have 2 lens with the GH5 MKII. Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II ASPH (stabilisation) Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO (no stabilisation). I have tested both at 12mm and there is practically no difference in video stablisation. Am I doing something wrong?
I love my GH5 I see no reason to upgrade as of now.I thought about purchasing the canon EOS R but I still won’t get rid of my GH5 for the money and what you get I just don’t think there’s a better deal out there as of right now..Thanks Sir
Great review, thanks. The GH5 is my main reason why I don't switch to full frame. Professional video features and tools plus IBIS are still unparalleled. I like the XLR1 adapter with 48V phantom power for high quality and easy to setup sound recording. My most favorite lens for general purpose is still the 12-35/2.8 (still have the older version that works great), the larger DOF of mFT is an advantage for general video work. For a light and easy gimbal / steady cam setup I like to use the tiny 14/2.5 with very fast and silent autofocus and no fiddling with the zoom. I like to supplement the GH5 with my small and cheap GX80. It lacks 10bit but otherwise produces great 4K results with its great IBIS. The 16MP sensor is an advantage here over GX9 / G90 due to its larger pixels and smaller crop factor. Sorry for the long comment.
Thank you, there actually are cameras with slightly better IBIS. Deeper FoV is never an advantage IMO, because you can always stop down any FF lens to get deeper FoV.
@@TheHybridShooter There may be cameras with slightly better IBIS but I don't know of any camera that combines video features and IBIS on the level of the GH5. I should be more precise concerning DOF: Larger DOF of mFT lenses has no or little disadvantage in video when you would have to stop down anyway. Keeps the lenses small and light - such as the 12-35/2.8 which is just right for my purposes. I use shutter priority most of the time and let the camera do the proper exposure from aperture and ISO without being concerned about large enough DOF too much. YMMV though!
@@TheHybridShooter I will shoot more video than photography... should I get the GH5s? As far as I can tell, the only drawback with the GH5s is that it does not have image stabilization. Does this make the GH5 a better fit for me? Or can I "stabilize" the video in post? Some say that the GH5 is better because of the image stabilization and then one can just use a speedbooster and sigma 18-35 lens to compensate for the low light deficiency of the GH5... in your opinion is that true, and thus I should get a GH5 over a GH5s?
Great vid! I own the G9 and missed the unlimited recording for the first time a few weeks ago at a conference. I wish they would at least add it for some of the more lightweight codecs. Also I have the PL 8-18 but am not using it as much, wish they would have a 10mm 1.7 which I could use as an alternative.
Thank you, unlimited video can't be added to G9 because it was released when EU camcorder tax was in effect. I also miss wide angle + wide aperture lenses in M43 system.
Nils Kaiser You can sell your 8-18mm and buy the 10-25mm F1.7 which is excellent with the G9. What Pana needs to come out with is a ”Leica” 17mm F1.4 with optical stabilizer.
What autofucus settings do you suggest? Because I can't get constant results to give it a rating of anything above a 3.6 out of 10. I'm so disappointed that I'm about to sell it. Please help.
I've had this camera for 2 weeks now with the 25mm f/1.7 and I am faced with a weird issue. I shoot in 4K 10bit mov Cine-D. In camera everything looks crispy and great. I load my videos in Hitfilm express and edit but when I export in 4K and play the video on my laptop there is a lot of noise ( visible pixels) in all the areas that are not focused. The same thing happens when I export in FHD but it's not that visible. What is the cause of this and how do I fix this?
There could be a lot of reasons - Insufficient bitrate, some kind of compatibility issues, wrong camera settings and so on... It is not possible to identify that using only that information.
I am not familiar with that editing software, so I can't help you much with that. Check the original, out of camera files to see if the issues are present there.
Hi again, I've rented a GH5 again to do some more low light experiments. Even if I have the camera set in shutter priority, as soon as I hit the record button, the shutter speed jumps from 50 to 120. Why would it do that?
You need to set manual movie mode on the main dial and then set shutter speed priority in the menu. In other mode, the camera will ignore your setting as soon as you hit the record button.
I guess you mean Exposure Mode in the Creative Movie menu pages. In Exposure Mode, I could choose between P A S M. I chose S.When I did that, after I pressed the record button, the number 50 disappeared and there was no number whatsoever showing shutter speed. I'll try some new tests tomorrow!

One of the best (perhaps the best one) review of GH5 I've seen on TH-cam. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, I appreciate your positive feedback!
Ever had any issues with resolve slowing down when rendering? It starts off fast for me but keeps getting slower and slower as the render progresses.
@@raizt1596 No, it seems to keep the same speed for me. Wonder if the cache is a problem?

Thank you! I am very glad that you like my interviews.
Got g9 and still extremely happy with it. The Video especially in 4k 60p is so so sharp and lovely. Pics come out amazing as well.
G9 is definitely a great camera and great value.
@@TheHybridShooter can you do an update on the g9? Thank-you
How is the auto focus performance of G9, compared with GH5 with new firmware?
Nathan L autofocus is very good, but I do not how compared to the the gh5. I am pretty sure that the G9 is Panasonic’s premiere autofocus camera though.
John Thanks, great to know.
"If you want full-frame performance, you have to accept full-frame size." Truth. This explains most m43 lenses. Not a bad thing, just something to consider.
Of course, that applies both ways.
Full frame's only real advantage is short focal lengths. Above ~100mm, you're not going to find too many f/1.4 lenses for either system.
@@GordLamb The advantage is the same at any focal length, you don't need F1.4 lenses for everything.
Very thorough review/update and I appreciate all the excellent footage you used to back up your points. I own and love a GH5 myself.
You're about to like your GH5 even more. At 9:12 ... go to Operation Lock (Operation > Operation Lock Setting). Turn On "DISP Button". Problem solved. DISP will still work in other operations just not when ready to record :)
Got myself a GH5 a few months back since I want to do video and man, this camera was way ahead of its time and still great to use. Recommend it!
I've enjoyed watching your episodes for the little clips of Bratislava. My sister taught there for a year and I went to visit in 2016.
Happy memories.
And I made an episode of my World Tour of Bratislava 😀
Nice Review, thanks for the stunning images from Morocco and Andalusia 😉
"If you are thinking of trading the GH5 for something with a larger sensor, definitely consider getting this lens (10-25mm F1.7) instead"
One of the best sections of an otherwise already excellent video.
Superb video, one of your best (and they are all good), thanks a bunch :-)
/Rasmus
Thank you!
Yeah I have both 10-25 and 40-150. I agree that the more you use wide angle, the more you are really IN the world .
The 10-25 f/1.7 is a total game changer. I use it on my G9 more than any other lens.
GH5 is a huge upgrade over the G80, so that is probably the most logical option.
@@TheHybridShooter hmm. I'm getting more and more photography focused though
3:43 Ah, so that’s how they achieve that high-ISO performance!

I have a G80 and a G9 and my G80 stilll gets used but I would prefer two G9's!
This camera is my fav still! I shoot most of my GH5 content with the metabones speed booster 0.64x w/ Sigma 35mm.
Thanks for a pleasant and open minded review!
Thanks, this video has helped my decision in buying this camera in 2020. Was tossing between Panasonic GH5 and Sony A7 iii camera.
You're welcome, I'm glad that it was helpful.
Thanks again for a large portion of pro-user points. Is the vlog update a "must" or can you get along without it?
Juuso Hoo this depends on your use case. You do get slightly better dynamic range from V-Log L, but you have to learn to expose a little differently for that profile to get the results you want. If you’re color grading, V-Log L is a must, but if you’re happy to set things to your liking in-camera with little to no tweaking in post, the built-in profiles might be fine for you. For me, unless I’m live-streaming or otherwise going straight out-of-camera, I’m virtually always using V-Log L.
@@JeremyHalterman so if more like straight out of the cam, it is not necessary a must. Thank You
Greetings from Morocco, nice review, your speedmaster is a looker 🤩

if you have to choose GH5 or the sony a7III ? am thinking selling my a7III don't like the ibis micro jitter ruin my video sometimes. . .
My camera choices are not relevant because I have a camera review channel, both are great cameras. I'm not sure what do you mean by IBIS micro jitter, but I have never experienced any ruined footage due to improper IBIS function on A7 III.
@@TheHybridShooter i think i go rent a Gh5 next week to see the difference

@@danceparty769 "although I would shy away from shooting shortfilms and "feature films" on this)" what does that mean? it doesn't take good cinematic footage?
I have a GH5 with Viltrox EF-M2 II adapter and Sigma 18-35. Love, love it when the camera body doesn’t freeze up. My GH5 and many other people experience occasional freezing. Reddit threads say it has to be a firmware issue because it seems to be a different cause for everyone. Stellar camera for the price but still some flaws. I’m excited for the cameras coming out later this year!
Well, EF-M2 II is reverse engineered product without official support, so there is still a lot of glitches.
Great video! I agree! The GH5 is amazing! I’m working with the GH5 since 2018 and I’m sure that I will use it for a long time. Actually I’m working fine with the duo GH4 and GH5!
pure workhorse, love this camera! does everything I need for both photo and video.
Hi there. What lense under $1000 for do you recommend for gh5 specially for short films ? Thank you.
Probably 12-35 f2.8
Thank you for a great review. If I had to choose a hybrid camera at this price point for run and gun, travel and short films, this would be it.
Can you tell me what ND filter you use with the camera?
Freewell Variable ND Filters 67mm - amzn.to/2rH1arH
The Panasonic GH5 and GH5s are on my shopping list
x-t4 vs gh5 would be a great idea for comparison! :) Thank you this one too.
I will try to do that if I get X-T4 review sample.
5:50 is exposing properly still an issue considering you can enable LUT preview in the GH5?
Yes, I don't recommend setting V-Log exposure based on what you see with 709 LUT. You just need to have a lot of experience with Log shooting.
Thanks as always for a thorough review!
owen-bobby look Joseph Ellis. He works with Oly câmeras and PRO f1.2 lenses in Weddings. Fantastic results!
Very good review packed with plenty of information. Thanks for sharing.
You stated at 2:40 that it can do Full Sensor 12bit read out at 60P .. Is this meant to be 10bit ? If not how does one shoot 12bit with the GH5 ? Thank you great review!
Thank you, no, the sensor can output 12-bit 60p signal using the whole sensor, but that doesn't meant that camera is capable of shooting 12-bit video.
Any reason why I should not chose G9 for landscape? I like zooms. What lens would you recommend for G9 and landscape?
I’m using G85 & looking to upgrade to something like GH5 - G9. I mostly use for event, wedding & looking at something 4k60fps. Now with the firmware update should I get the G9 or GH5 ? Which one you refer ?
I know the G85 has already been superseded by the G95 but could you also post a similar update about it? I’m sure there are a lot of people who’ve only just bought it or are maybe considering buying it.
I unfortunately don't have the G85.
Thank you! 10-25 is still much cheaper than switching to full frame.
@2:39 you say a feature youve never talked about before and mentioned the full sensor read-out capability @60fps 12bit, but at what res ? 4K or ???
5.2K but it is only sensor read-out, camera can’t capture that.
@@TheHybridShooter > Camera cant capture that meaning ? So what is the camera capturing ? 4k ? or 1080p ?
4k, all modes are described in specs.
@@TheHybridShooter > OK Thanks :) !
Is the extras for the GH5S worth it over GH5?
If is different package, so it depends on how you intend to use it.
Interesting video! Thanks.
Just wonder why do you choose the 12-35 f2.8 vs Leica 12-60?
I wouldn't choose either nowadays, but with M43 zooms you probably want as much light gathering as possible.
So encouraging to hear about the GH5 improvements! Thanks for the great review!
I think that there is no 24p 10-bit 4:2:2, only 25 and 30p on the G9. I am also not sure about the DCI.
@@TheHybridShooter The G9 now has 4k60 and 10bit. but not ALL-I or unlimited recording. Those are reserved for the GH5
Thank you, I am also very curious about the R5, I hope that it will be worth buying, but to be honest my hopes are not very high.
The Hybrid Shooter My hopes are high and ready to be dashed to pieces LOL
10:10 hard agree on articulating screens. Wish the Sony a99ii screen was more popular, or the one from the s1h or Fuji x-t100. They can't stay in the center while tilted, and face forward
Hi, I'm using Gh5 also. I just want to ask if you can share your settings? because I don't know how to set my gh5.
I have 2 lens with the GH5 MKII.
Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II ASPH (stabilisation)
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO (no stabilisation).
I have tested both at 12mm and there is practically no difference in video stablisation. Am I doing something wrong?
Not really, 12mm is fairly wide angle, lens stabilization won't make much difference there.

For music videos - what is better Panansonic Gh5 or the G9
ciao,io sono convinto che anche nel 2020,sia ancora la migliore x video.
YMMV though!
what kind of lens filter was shown with the red ring?

On my gx85, af hold refocuses before locking focus, making it equivalent to af-on. Does the gh5 af-l do that or work normally?
You can set it up however you want to on the GH5.

Great video. Thank you. I subscribed.
In your opinion is the gh5 better than the gh5s, for the features and price difference?
Those are just very different packages, one is not necessarily better than the other.
@@TheHybridShooter Are you running for public office?
@@TheHybridShooter I will shoot more video than photography... should I get the GH5s? As far as I can tell, the only drawback with the GH5s is that it does not have image stabilization. Does this make the GH5 a better fit for me? Or can I "stabilize" the video in post? Some say that the GH5 is better because of the image stabilization and then one can just use a speedbooster and sigma 18-35 lens to compensate for the low light deficiency of the GH5... in your opinion is that true, and thus I should get a GH5 over a GH5s?
How long can you record 4k/50 or 4k/60 on GH5 with 1 battery?
How about file size with 4K? Is this manageable on SD card?

Hi again,
I've rented a GH5 again to do some more low light experiments.
@@TheHybridShooter Thanks, even with really fast lenses, I still get lots of low light noise. I'll try that!
