*Without a doubt, the Lumix GH5 was a game changer! But is it relevant today?* 🧐 Do you think the GH5 aged well? Let me know! ✅ *LUMIX GH5 ($698):* amzn.to/4ezX3jh
Great video man thanks, i appreciate the conversational tone and the no music, makes for an atypically chill presentation which was really enjoyable to watch ❤
Awesome video man! I like that you can see the potential in cameras that are considered “old” (which, sure maybe they are old) but it’s a great refresher to the idea of always buying the newest gear. You showed people can still produce amazing footage and photos with older gear! GH5 is a great camera
I ended up buying my GH5s last year instead of so many other good choices for my upcoming movie projects. This camera paired with my SLR Magic microprimes makes for an awesome pic... so no worries on its lackluster auto focus features or lack of, lol. Set up as my cinematic rig its ideal and in low light the GH5s is still awesome in 2024! And its sensor is a bit wider than the GH5 since they did without the IBIS... which suits me just fine!
Hi, Seeing the GH5s with a speedbooster as well as the dual native ISO was quite a revelation. The lower pixel density results in improved light gathering ability with amazing low light imagery.
Lovely video! I love the GH5 but in my experience it has let me down in low light. It let me down at a very dark wedding and a boxing fight so I bought the GH5s to add to my production.
The GH5 is a great camera, but I've definitely found it struggles in low light as well. If I was expecting a shoot with nearly no light, it wouldn't be my primary photo choice.
looking to get into photography, and was about to buy a canon t6i for $300 off somebody, and then came across one of these for the same price. So far everywhere i’m looking the gh5 seems to be more for videography rather than photography.. what should i buy?
Ye it's still good. 4k 60p and many benefits of 4/3. It's the best bet at the pricepoint when you need 4k 60p and an action cam doesn't cut it and you're not shooting in very dark conditions or you need decent autofocus.
It's definitely a powerhouse! But yes, if you're shooting low-light documentaries with uncontrolled light, it may become an issue. However, I will say I've gotten usable footage at 6400 and 12,800 ISO with a touch of light.
the GH5 is still an excellent camera...all you need is 10 bit for grading...plus in terms of weather...the GH5 is superior in both cold and hot weather...the only reason I never went Panasonic back in the day was because of the autofocus...now with the GH7 they improved on this...there is also the GH5s which is very strong in low light...
gh5 good camera still the v log on gh5 2 was so nice I upagedaed to s5iix and its a awesome game changer but fun to know I can throw my gh5 on a hood of a car and not care

It's still a fantastic camera, and will last you a long time!

I appreciate that! Thank you so much for watching!
Didn't need to sub to another camera channel... saw your Spidey photos and video and clicked that sub button immediately!
Thanks Zack!

Very true! The GH5 in particular is baller. The GH5's 4K video quality is superb and stands up to just about anything made in 2024!

Thanks very much. I appreciate your clear explanation of MFT and crop factor. I finally understand!! Thanks again!
Happy to help!
Amazing camera! I got speedbooster and Sigma 18-35 f1.8, also I added pro mist filter and image looks awesome!
I've only used a speed booster once on a Sony. I've always wanted to own one.
This camera is a tank and work horse...very few camears can match up t o this beast! I love it!
Absolutely, it's a rock star of a camera!
Fantastic video, thank you.😊

How does the GH5s perform in low light in your experience?
@@user-hk7iy2vt5y the GH5s is a dual gain sensor and is excellent in low light. One of the best video cameras I’ve ever used.
I love the GH5 but I hate the rubber handgrip. it fell apart on 2 gh5's. So i did get another camera. and I choose the S5 II with 16-35 F4 🤤
I have only tested the S5's. I'd love to review one soon!
But yes, my rubber grips are a little worn. I've used the heck out of them!

Both have video and photo capabilities. I think the newer GH5 is a better deal for $300.

It certainly is! GH7 now has phase-detect AF, which is great!
Still awesome ❤
Yes it certainly is! I recently gifted mine to another photographer, so it's on its second life now.
actually the f1.4 version is the same !
the what what?

You can shoot V-Log on the GH5 as well.
