      Father Spyridon, can you teach us or explain how to pray for others, eg our enemies?
      I know the Jesus Prayer, etc morning prayers, night prayers, prayers to saints. etc. But i am yet to find out how to pray for others who are probably not even Christian, those who abuse us, lie to us, cause us troubles. I have been looking for weeks and months, i simply do not know the correct method, the words? Which prayer? Short or long? Jesus prayer is for us, for me. But how to pray for others? I know short prayers via saints but i get stuck as eg St George pray to God for Person X Name, then St George pray for mentioned servant. But our enemies may not be Gods servants. So.. I am left confused.
      Can you provide a link to a prayer or explain how to do it? In English, Russian or Serbian?

    What an exceptional sermon today. Speaking for myself I absolutely repent, fall, get up, sin again, fall, repent, get up, sin again. It truly is a daily struggle and a journey as I can attest. And when I think I have certain sins under control on a stretch of time I get swept away again by demonic attack or worldly temptations. I know Christ promised us life for those who hold out until the very end. It isn't easy at all to be Christ-like.

    I get excited every time I see that you put out a new video. It is always such a blessing to both hear and see you. My protestant background has always limited this parable to a single event of salvation as they teach, rather than the continual sowing of seeds throughout our journey towards salvation.

    • @ruralsquirrel5158

      This is tragically one of the shortcoming of the English translations of the Bible. The original Greek verb states that we are to "keep on repenting" and "keep on running the race".

      For much of my life I misunderstood this parable until, one day, a Catholic Benedictine monk explained it to me, and I realised it is not about the world, but about the turning of the heart towards God 👍

    • @0nly0NE.
      @0nly0NE. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I was taught from Protestants that we are saved, being saved, and will be saved. There is a first moment where your heart turns toward Christ, gains an understanding of His salvation, repents, and chooses to follow Him. And then throughout this life is the sanctification process where one who is truly following Christ becomes more Christlike. And then there is the final and complete cleansing of our sin and renewing of our body.

    John 15:6
    6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
    Christ also tells us how we abide in Him.
    John 15:10
    If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
    Christ also tells us what His commandments are.
    John 15:12
    This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
    Then what is love?
    John 15:13
    Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
    What are friends?
    John 15:14
    Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
    What is the command again?
    John 15:17
    These things I command you, that ye love one another.

      @@AlexandarShmex I have felt the same way ! as if the task of achieving a state of true repentance itself is unattainable; a monolith that won’t be actualized in this life. And yet because of that intrinsic nature it is similar to acquiring God who is infinite and boundless.

    “And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.”

    This is why it’s important to continually practice. Read the word often, pray often and as our friend says in the video, repent!

    Father, bless. I just wanted to thank you father for all that you do. Your books and videos have been so important to my Orthodox formation since my finding the true Faith and being baptized back in 2015 into Holy Orthodoxy. I’ve prayed a Jesus Prayer for you and ask that if you read this would you please pray a Jesus Prayer for me. Thank you from Innocent, a member of the Moscow Patriarchate in the US. Bless father.

    It is Jesus. The way, truth, and, life. He is the one who cleanses us. We have to work with him. He is our shepard and we are his sheep. He wont leave us, so we shouldnt lose faith. I have been battling every second of every day, but he knows and still saved me. My perspective is fall and get up, his perspective is pure and good.

    "There are some who will argue that; 'it is enough to say a prayer and you are saved, and saved for life. Thats it. Job done.' This is heresy, this is unchristian, this is of the devil."
    Thank you Father for not sugar coating things. We all must sharpen our discernment in this world. We are all warned of the Lamb that speaks like the Dragon. When evil tries to get a foothold in Christendom we must call it out! Churches that embrace sin and heresy are NOT misguided lukewarm Christians. They are followers of the great deceiver.

    this is opposite to what i've been told by many. they say you rest with belief in christ, and works in him will follow. but they say you are already justified, sanctified, in christ. once saved always saved. it is finished they told me.

      That's because Jesus said "I give unto them eternal life, and they shall NEVER perish, NEITHER SHALL ANY MAN pluck them out of my hand". There are those who trust Jesus to fulfill what he said and there are those that don't.

      @@nononsensechristianity Right, well you didn't pay much attention to the story of what happened to David after her met Bathsheba.

    • @nononsensechristianity
      @nononsensechristianity 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johns1834 No, YOU didn't pay much attention. None of the punishments described in 2 Samuel 12 say that David lost his salvation. All of the punishments affected him in this life only.
      The way that God punishes the sins of David and his children is well documented, Psalm 89: 30-36 is a good example. Hell is for the unsaved. The rod of correction is for the saved.

    • @johns1834
      @johns1834 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nononsensechristianity Very true. David was punished for his sins, but no where is 2 Samuel 12 does it say David could NOT loose his salvation if he had not repented. Which thankfully he did repent and regained favor with God.

    • @nononsensechristianity
      @nononsensechristianity 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johns1834 *no where is 2 Samuel 12 does it say David could NOT loose his salvation if he had not repented*
      Exactly, that would be in direct contradiction to what the Bible DOES say. Base your beliefs on what it does say, not what it doesn't say. The bible does say that Jesus will lose nothing that the Father gives him (referring to believers, in context). The bible does not say that any single individual lost his salvation; Jesus knew from the beginning those who were false as per John 6.
