    All around great vehicle..coming from an Audi Q5...haven't bought one yet, want to tow a 2000 trailer, what do you think? ( rated a 3500 lbs.)

    Would also love to know what people think of towing a 2000 lb trailer. I hear so many different opinions. We drive in mountains a lot.

    Is there a difference in the ride quality of the hybrid and non-hybrid Highlander, in terms of bump absorption on the road?

    • @danilika9420
      @danilika9420 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The difference would be fairly negligible, but the suspension tuning will vary due to the extra weight of the hybrid system.

      @@danilika9420 the weight gain you get with the hybrid engine you lose with the NA 4 cylinder engine of the hybrid instead of the heavy 6 cylinder on the gas version.

      HenryHonda The hybrid weighs a good 150 lbs more than the equivalent gas version - maybe more - and it’s spread throughout the vehicle rather than all of it resting over the front wheels.

    Ended up disabling LTA in my corolla, now use openpilot instead.
    LTA kept steering me out of lane, ping ponging, and being a nuisance.

      It’s definitely a technology that needs work. Toyota’s system is particularly annoying, though. Thanks for watching!

      Honda has the same problem... I don't use mine BUT everything else is great especially the Adaptive Cruise Control.

    Subscribed! Great video & info. Do you own a Toyota brand car?
    I never own a Toyota . I’m planning to trade in my 2018 forester xt for 2021 forester . I’m convinced and totally in love with forester. I get a lot value for the price on a forester. I’m considering 2020 hybrid Highlander but I don’t love their quality interior and some stuff. Poor quality camera for a $50 grand suv. No power fall down seats for 2nd & 3rd row. No usb connection in 3rd row seat . Road noises is pretty bad. The gas model is quieter and my biggest dislike is the interior space in 3rd row seat. No led interior light on the limited trim ( I’m not sure on the platinum). For a $50 grand suv I find more value for the price on the palisade , telluride , BMW X5 , Tahoe . I include Tahoe cause for a preowned you can buy a 2018/19 Tahoe with 20/30 thousand miles for $30/40 grand. Any suggestions? I’m afraid to get a Highlander hybrid and regret / hate every day.

      Yes there is a “Toyota Tax”, but worth it in my opinion. You may pay more upfront, but they depreciate slower and have fewer (and less expensive) repairs. I’d stay away from the large GM SUVs or anything German unless you plan to lease. They become unreliable after the warranty is over. Everyone I know with a Tahoe complains about horrible fuel consumption and frequent expensive repairs. The German SUVs are even worse. The Hyundai/KIA is a decent product, but out the door prices aren’t much better than the Highlander.

      @@user-tb7rn1il3q i just bought a 2021 forester touring. I’m so happy. I’m glad that I made the right decision. I was not convinced with the Highlander quality and price also the infotainment. You don’t use the whole size screen for the gps. No led light in the interior. In the worst part the 3rd road seat is a big deal breaker ( uncomfortable space in 3rd seat). Toyota has years far away to convince me with their products. Like I said I wanted to give a try to Toyota for the first time with hybrid Highlander
      I have a fully loaded touring forester 2021. ($37 grand msrp they discount $4 grand off of the msrp) The only thing I’m missing and wish to have is a 360 camera and view side camera monitor. My wife has a 2020 ascent Subaru and I love it. Hopefully in the next few years they bring a better mpg engine cause I’ll definitely I could upgrade from the forester to a 3rd seat suv. In other countries they use 369 camera in forester so they must bring that to USA.

    Saving 1000 per year in gas...battery has 8 years of warranty..so 8000 dollars for 8 years...after that 7500 dollars needed to replace hybrid batteries ..so in 8 years, only 500 dollars saved

    • @danilika9420
      @danilika9420 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is speculative and not all that helpful. Warranty doesn’t equate to battery life. To claim it will need replacement after the warranty period is up is guesswork at best.

      Also anybody who knows basic finance, understands the time value of money. You save those $1,000 a lot sooner than you pay out that eight grand, if you pay that $8,000 at all.

      The battery, assuming the fan filter is maintained, is good for 300k miles. The battery is rebuildable for less than $4k. An ICE car won’t last that long on average.

      It’s 10 years/150,000 miles.
